I think someone combatlogged on me (ingame name Hideki Tojo) and my friend (Dimitri Poloska) today, around 17:00 GMT+0. My friend shot two guys with a DMR on the NW airfield. We were about to loot the bodies, only to notice that there was only one dead body. We did catch the name of the player who possibly combat logged, he was called "v1".

M1911 for favourite sidearm. Double-barreled shotgun for favourite common weapon (CZ is too rare to be considered a common weapon). AKM for favourite mid-tier weapon. M249 for favourite god-tier weapon.

A thing I'd like to see in the standalone would be changing those stupid Enfields to Mosin-Nagants. They manufactured millions of those in the USSR and I'm sure WW2 vets kept theirs. Russian hardware should be found in buildings and foreign stuff in crashes etc. This of course has been suggested a hundred times already.

I never saw his body though nor did I hear flies. I guess the body glitched out. But hey, thanks for the proof, it's all good now.

Spawn in Kamenka/Solnichniy if you don't want immediate contact with other survivors/those evil bandits. If you have a melee weapon and you're chased by zeds the best thing to do is find a tree or a bush and hug it. If the bush is dense enough and you have brances and leaves between you and the zeds, they won't be able to hit you but you will be able to kill them. This also works without a weapon, you'll just need to wait for the zeds to lose interest. I also recommend playing some of the Arma 2 tutorials and getting a mod called Shooting Range 2 to get a feel of some of the weapons that are also in the DayZ mod.

I was Jamal, I was with Sergei and Dmitriv, server indeed is FR34. Diggercom attacked us, took Sergei out and the chatbox said "player Diggercom is losing connection" when Dmitriv opened fire, followed by a BattlEye message stating Diggercom got kicked for client not responding (Alt+F4?). I caught his name because the server had nametags on. Then he logged back after some time, took both S and D out, I hit him and I believe he left the server again. The firefight also involved a player called arti_f, Diggercom's friend I guess (they had the same clan tag). It's all pretty unclear, it might have been arti who shot my friend but it was definitely Diggercom who (very likely) combatlogged.

A player called "Diggercom" combatlogged on me, 21:27 GMT+2 , October 18. EDIT: I waited for a couple of minutes and he logged back in, so I managed to hit him (I saw blood on him) and he did it again.

Greetings, I got banned on FR34 and this is the ban message: "BattlEye: Admin Ban (yellow smoke FR 3406-Oct-2013 11:11:01 GMT+02)". I have no idea what this is about as I've never looted a yellow smoke on the server. I don't think I've even played on the server on October the sixth if that's the date of the ban, at least according to DayZ Commander. My friend also got banned for the same reason and the time of the ban is like a minute later or so compared to mine. Could you unban me or was I too much of a rule-breaker, being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

I've found one a few times in the Otmel boathouse and the upside down broken boats near it.

Well the zeds certainly throw some heavy punches at the moment, but it's been balanced out by food being literally everywhere and blood bags being a common find in hospitals again.

I recommend you watch DayZ streams and if you need help on how to do some basic but important things like cooking and managing your inventory, I suggest checking out the channel of DayZ Guidez. His videos were mighty helpful to me when I was new. Oh yeah, and like stated a couple of posts above, don't watch the videos of this certain DayZ Youtuber (the most popular one who also plays Battlefield and Planetside 2 and plays DayZ clean and legit as frak). If you do watch them the mod will disappoint you.

Wow they really did decrease the loot spawns... I found a bike near a spawn point and rode through five different towns, one of them even had a supermarket, and only managed to find two cans of pasta and a machete. On a previous life I broke into a hospital only to notice it had no medical boxes and the floor only had a couple of tin cans on it. It seems that the zeds have really stepped up since dead bodies are everywhere now, even more so than before. I'm really happy that they're becoming a bigger threat, but at the moment they're dangerous in the wrong way. The infection chance is way too high, which I wouldn't mind if it wasn't for the absence of loot, namely antibiotics. The knockdown is a pain in the backside as well, and it should be more situation-reliant than it is now. Overall I like the patch though, especially the journal and Study Body finally working properly. The "viral" zeds also sound nice.

Hmm... Played yesterday and got hit by zombies quite a bit. Got infected three times, knocked down seven times and didn't bleed a single time. I'd prefer it like this compared to what it used to be (random Mike Tyson hits from full blood, bleeding and shaking all the time etc) if antibiotics were as common of a find as painkillers. I think zombies can hit without the swing animation again too which is weird because they couldn't do it in the last patch.

According the the DayZ database map castles are now high yield military drop locations instead of residential medium value. Is this true?

I've played DayZ for a hundred hours and only seen a dozen people outside airfields, the three major cities or some of the more popular towns like Vybor, Zelenogorsk, Novy/Stary Sobor and Polana. There usually are people in the mentioned places but most of the time you die without seeing them. Other than that you can sometimes encounter other people if you're running on a road and they drive past/over you.

So far it's only been bronies disapproving this. Therefore I must agree with the OP.

People will hate me for this, but:

I've survived for 31 days now, gotten everything I need (and more) and I'm waiting for death to relieve my poor survivor of his misery. I'm anxious to repeatedly spawn in Kamenka again and all that new spawn stuff. What would be the best way to go? I've been thinking about jumping off the Green Mountain tower, starving in Skalisty or bleeding out inside an outhouse after getting hit by a zombie. Any suggestions? I need help!
