I have been wanting to get a serious group going for a long while now. I am 22 and have been playing dayz for about a year. I can play tonight if you get this message early enough.

Thanks for all the info guys. I actually just read a post by the devs that the detection system is messed up from the update and unbalanced. I was wondering why sneaking was so much harder than the guys on youtube, they were playing older versions where the detection system was balanced. But in the mean time I will just prone/crouch shift through towns.

What about having random spawning weapons? Obviously they will be garbage weapons, mainly blunt weapons and if you decide to give them a firearm make it have only one or two mags. Could also try making initial loot near spawns easier to get to, I mean only like a can of beans or soda or two nothing serious. At least if someone who feels the satisfaction of finding something may be more cautious rather that just randomly running around not caring until they find a weapon. Also I do like the idea of not starting with any firearms. People could purposely charge into elektro for instance trying to kill a heavily armed bandit/survivor. What does the new player have to care about, he can just keep trying to respawn till he/she spawns near eletro again.

I am a newb as well :) , I found that running into a large building like a barn can work. I wait until they are like half way through then I hall ass out the back of the building while constantly looking over my shoulder. At least you found some food, I have yet to find anything useful besides a axe and carving knife.

I am on my 3rd or 4th character, and I only started playing yesterday ;P I have spent a considerable amount of time watching good players sneak in and out of small towns on youtube with no problem. But it seems like I get spotted all the time. I crouch walk, stick to only small villages, and stay in cover but they seem to have hawk vision and Vulcan hearing. Having no weapon and not being able to sneak effectively, I have yet to be able to come across any food, liquids, or firearms (found an axe tho lol). Almost every town entry has ended with me either sprinting for my life into a building hoping to lose them, or running into the woods on an endless chase. So please, help me :(
