    Thanks m8, already dloaded the files but didnt realise i needed the other 2 older files in the other folder, thanks , youre a great help :)

    Hi guyz, Havent had a play in DayZ for about 2 weeks, so I downloaded the up to date beta patch, didnt install the new DayZ files yet!!, I ran the 01 benchmark and it runs great can get into a arma2 game fine. However as soon as I put the latest DayZ files into the addon folder, it totally screws up arma2 and I get the long wait at the joining a DayZ game, If I then go to the benchmark in the scenario menu it just hangs and I have to press escape. If I then copy the older dayz files into the addon folder everything is great arma2 now works, though I cant join a dayz game as its out of date. Now If I go to main menu in arma2 while the updated dayz files are in the addon folder and disable the dayz mod in the expansion menu everything is fine with arma2. So whats up with the new DayZ files???

    Hiya m8, its not the beta patch that broke your arma2, its the updated dayz files!!! Try it, replace the dayz addon files with a prevoius version from about a week and a half ago. I had the same problem, havent had a play in dayz for about 2 weeks as ive been busy, anyhow I updated the arma2 beta patch to the latest and ran the benchmark as I always do and everything was fine, I downloaded the 1723 latest dayz mod files, copied them into the addon directory and ran the benchmark and it just stuck there doing nothing, tried to go into a dayz server and got the loading wait screen lol. Anyhow I replaced the dayz addon files with the previous version and arma2 was back to normal, but cant log into servers as wrong version dayz files. So what!! I'll wait till they fix it, cant be arsed breaking my arma2 for this :) Hope it helps..

    Yes it does matter, you want to use a server close to you so that your ping response is low. When it gets dark you can use a server over to the west of your location to play in the daylight, if your in the UK choose a UK server if you can, then when it gets dark use a USA server, bear in mind that the ping response will be a lot higher.
