AU18 Admin Abusing use of the Global Chat

That is how globa chat is received from an admin (With BLUEFOR), Also there is currently an issue where if you have a server that does not have sufficient CPU to work with, it will spawn lots and lots of zombies, and they will stand there in a holding gun animation. Sounds like a noob admin -

Yesterday Server hosters received an email, With a message stating to update to the latest battle eye, and to download the new script file, Since it has been updated we have had 0 hackers. Maybe your server hosting company is being a bit slow :). The battle eye version Current Version Client: 1.165 Server: 1.149 -

Instead of locking, What we do on 105, Is tell people in the joining messages that the server will be restarted in 6 hour intervals, at 6 am, 12 pm, 6pm, and 12 am, Unless your unable to setup scheduled restarts, In that case I belive it is acceptable to lock for 5 mins, only servers that are locked all the time get black listed. -

It is dissabled because that is how the basic hacks work, The Admin Interface script can be changed locally, Meaning that they can execute their own scripts just by clicking the admin console button. As stated above, Just use #login yourpass Its the same thing just command based instead of interface, If you do remove the line that prevents you from accessing the GUI, Be prepared for nukes :D -

To be fair, That is exactly what you signed up for, You don't make money from a DayZ server, The Dev's are running through 300+ requests a day, Also read the rules, You cant ban someone for hacking currently, Plenty of posts around saying so. Also if you do ban some one for hacking, you better have a lot of proof, Just some wise warnings :) -

High ping players joining server

We had the same issue with UK105 and 106, It turns out we had to first re-do our ports on the firewall, And then secondly enable ICMP (google) and now we have a stable server with 35 ping -

Report them to the Server general channel, I believe there is a thread there for it. At the moment the DayZ team are working more on the mod than rouge servers. But it will happen eventually. -

Private servers are not allowed full stop. You cant run a Dayz server on your home PC, It requires a huge amount of bandwidth. Locked servers are not allowed either due to the rules, and minimum slots is 30 (40 in bandwidth cheap counties) Check the server FAQ Thread, it tells you in there how to apply for a server, But it will also ask you for your dedicated server specs, as well as bandwidth options. Also note that servers that are seen to be being private, or locked 24/7 are blacklisted -
It all depends on the server, If a server is veteran it ususaly has crosshairs turned off. Also, if you press 0 on the numpad, it will take you into an enhanced view.

A List of Passworded Servers

Please also remember, Some of us use Throttling, What that does is we set for example Throttling to 3 players, That means that if 3 players join the lobby, The server will lock itself until they are actually playing, This reduces server stress considerably. Once those 3 are playing it unlocks and people can join again, If its a busy night, then it may appear locked for a long time, but in reality its just saving itself and reducing server load, hence preventing crashes, and item loss as much as possible. -
That ususaly means you dont have the correct version of DayZ installed

Indeed, I have locked UK 106 as having 30 people failing to connect, then reconnect, and again was killing the server, I will most likely re-open it again in the morning -
Rezzed Expo , Rocket Developer Chat! (New Info)

Hey all, Just thought I would post what I remember of the Developer's meeting at rezzed, and what rocket had said :) 1) Radio's Rocket said that this is something he will implement , But at the current time it is quite far off in future development. 2) Building, Rocket stated that he wants players to be able to build their camps/base/ etc, He mentioned that building above ground in the arma 2 Engine is not great at all (He stated that the barb wire and sandbags were a test of this) Instead he suggests that we would be able to build underground, and even in an "instanced" area to reduce lag 3) Arma2 Engine or Standalone, It appears that DayZ will remain on the arma2 Engine until such time that they have the funding to produce a stand alone game, it is a goal 4) Infected Animations, The current animations were made by the developer, In rockets own words "What you see at the moment is what happens when you let a developer make the animations, you want them faster? you just change this thing called speed". It appears that they now have some one making better animations for the infected. 5) Stability and bug fixing appear to be the main idea at the moment, rather than new features, Apparently the 1.7.2 Patch has a lot of optimisation in. 6) Some one asked about different maps, In which rocket responded by stating that currently we have 200km of map to play with, and that there should not be to much of an issue expanding to say 400km, But the main focus for content at the moment would be to make a lot more buildings enter able. 7) Rocket said that he has been experimenting with different methods for exposing bandits, The most recent test being the heartbeats. He said that making bandits completely detectable would destroy the game he is trying to make, He also stated maybe something like having a bandit appear to have more scar's on their face for example may be an option. 8) Web site statistics, Rocket showed off what they are developing for the website, where you have your own "profile page" With hundreds of different statistics for yourself, It looked very very good, and he stated that he would upload the picture (Not sure if he has). 9) Have other players host servers is the plan for the moment, if the game turns stand alone then it is something they have to think about, as they do not want to expose everything (Think of the current situation with hacked servers) 10) To Rocket!, If any of the information here is incorrect , Please feel free to correct it. I know there was a bit more but my memory has left me ! lol. 11) Infected will have a life cycle, Fresh zombies will be agile, and chase you, Infected that have been arround a while will be slower due to lack of food :) If anyone else has any question , Feel free to ask, it may jog my memory, about 15-20 questions were asked. Personal Observations: After playing the new patch (I believe it was anyway) At rezzed, You were spawned on a smaller island , With a macarov , No ammo, and standard gear. Did not get to see much else as I got hunted by zombies and had limited time. Updated with more information -
I was at the Rezzed Expo, And rocket stated that He does want to do radio's with signal towers and stuff, but its a long way off

You can indeed , But bare in mind that other players can, and 95% of the time will hide your body if they find it, De-spawn on players is about 15 mins last I checked

The best way I have found to get out of the wilderness is to log into Canada 2 (god knows why), It will spawn you in debug forest, at which point you can find east and run to the nearest town (to find east look at your shadow and the sun)

It will work, Servers let people in based more on ID than IP (As the server admin can have up to 3 different connections to a server (E.g Battle eye tools, Console commands etc)) so it should not be a problem at all.

RazBari, Admins can still chat and voice over global possibly a RU server or maybe they were behind you! :D

On a VET server you cant see who killed you, On a REG server if you see their name before they kill you then you know :)
