x/post from Reddit.com/r/dayz: This mod is generating sales.

A thread that was posted here, then posted on Reddit, then posted here again. Reddit sucks, etc. but it is good for making sales. -
Fix Server Hopping/Quick Leaving (Borderline Cheating)
puppetmasterjjk replied to wattle's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
My group got screwed over last night when we got ambushed by some guys with NVG's. Two of us got killed, but the rest managed to fight them off. Unfortunately, the ambushers just logged off as soon as they realized they had bit off more than they could chew. Also, hi Wattle. -
The Walking Dead: Chernarus...
puppetmasterjjk replied to Diamondback's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I believe Rocket has said in the past that this sort of re-animation would be impossible with the backstory (not yet released) of Day Z. -
Yes, scrap them. They are counter-productive when it comes to the reason they were implemented (They encourage murder for multiple reasons). They subtract from the realism. Even worse, they cause a headache for you when you deserve to enjoy making your game.

That's not how most people play though. There are many places to visit and "set-up" at. The NW airfield just has the highest risk and reward, but you can find the same great gear elsewhere too.

This means the connection to the server is bad. It's not a feature of Day Z. Edit: Actually, now I know what icon you're talking about. I've seen this new icon my self, but don't know for sure what it represents. It happened as I was shot. It might have to do with the anti-disconnect system or "humanity."

Private Military Company is the expansion. But like you said, that's only if you want the high-definition models for the player characters. (PMC units)

Turkey, I believe the situation you describe over and over is completely fictional. If so many people really did play the game in the way that you always describe it, then even I would start to have complaints and suggest "balance" changes. Edit: The only time I've had a problem with someone's behavior in the game was when someone was freaking out in side chat like this kid: I can understand the frustration, but you don't need to spam the entire server just because you had a bad break.

I agree, Evans. Whenever I want to set up a campsite or start a fire quickly, it has to be in a wide clearing. This makes it much easier to be spotted and limits the locations to choose from.

Why is night so bright now?
puppetmasterjjk replied to Kenya East's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It might have to do with the server restarts. I'm not sure what in-game date they're all supposed to be set to, but it may be changed/reverted every time the server starts up again. -
How realistic are ballistics?
puppetmasterjjk replied to bonetopick's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What Tajin said. You can also zero-in the sights on many weapons with the addition of Operation Arrowhead. In ACE, you can even dial-in scopes for windage and elevation. Unfortunately, Day Z doesn't use the ACE mod, but Arma II still has some very good ballistics without it. -

Arma has real lunar and tidal phases. Stars are also accurate to real life. -
Is there a specific server or time that people log-in when they get together with these fancy weapons and just constantly blow people away? How do you know what their intentions were or what their weapon was? How did they manage to spot you? Personally, I have only ever been caught off-guard by another player once. Weeks ago, a hunting rifle sniper was near Chernogorsk and my group was screwing around in the open for some reason. He hit and killed one of our guys with his first shot, then the rest of us escaped using smoke cover and ambushed him later on. The one time I actually managed to get killed by another player was when I decided to sneak up on a team of two and fire wildly into the air. I've encountered huge amounts of players. Most of which I avoid, a handful I have teamed up with, some others I help out and then part-ways with, and finally there are three that I have killed. Perhaps it could be that I just play on the wrong server at the wrong time, and that's why I don't witness these insane "deathmatches" that apparently are all that goes on these days. I suspect, however, that these claims are just gross exaggerations used to try strengthening one side of the argument.

Everyone's playing your game the wrong way, Turkey. Even Rocket!
