make flying helicopter harder by 1st person
cgsprite replied to Heathcz's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I would love to see ToH flying dynamics, at their hardest in DayZ. I would get a kick out of seeing people attempt flight. I'm not great myself but I know the basics enough to sort of fly, enough to amuse myself until I crash hard. -
I liked the 'Cities are safe', part. Made me giggle.

I am unaware if anyone else mentioned this. But I don't believe 'Survivability' to be a 'Skill. You either have it, or you're dead. No questions asked. It's player initiated, not an in game feature.

No DevBlog this week but here is some screens
cgsprite replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I have come to the conclusion, that I cannot wait. But I will sit tight and fidget until it is released. Either way I'll have a smile on my face. -

AWww noo, I see inverted face normals on the railing to the right of screen, roughly hip height. Regardless, this is looking fantastic :) -
Text Chat converts to Text-To-Speech (Standalone)
cgsprite replied to TIC's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like the idea of getting rid of text on screen too and I think Side Chat should be in the game. it should be direct chat only if this were the case other than having radios in game. This could be severely abused otherwise. -
Oops! I must have misread it somewhere either someones post or a thread. Apologies.

Well this is already being implemented with their quick switch selection which is using 1-9 keys. Have you not seen the videos of some of the inventory stuff? Won't be hard to hit 1 or 2 to switch I couldn't imagine.

Since bags have no real value other than 'it holds more', or 'it doesn't stand out as much'. I was wondering about the possibility of 'worn' backpacks, and civilian backpacks versus military grade. Military being obviously much harder to find but are far more rugged and harder to spot with the lack of stand out-ish colours. With a worn back pack there's a minuscule chance of misplacing item(s) going from point A to point B. It would then need a repair which could use the crafting system, either that or you set out on finding another backpack. Repairing the backpack could just warrant some good old duct tape which may only be a temporary fix until you find a more suitable solution. I would imagine Duct tape also being utilized for fixing broken car windows, but that's another topic.

Well biggest thing for me, which comes with the premise of civilian clothing is being seen. You're likely to be far more visible with a crummy old backpack intended for regular use over something used for military things, I thought I outlined that fairly simply. My bad. No, no shooting holes in the backpack. I just thought since a big thing in DayZ is collecting gear to survive, there could be some sort of dilemma (other than just dying) to keep you on your toes. I'm not saying it's an incredible idea, but I would rather lend a hand in suggestions and find a product I can enjoy thoroughly.

I won't buy this game if it turns into a PVP fest. As simple as that.
-
I want PVE to be a BIG risk, otherwise I won't play the damn game. I want what Rocket is talking about, Zombies that are actually scary and a challenge. Not a the PVP game which DayZMod turned out to be once you figured out how Zombies worked.
-
I agree with Gews, but in the event it is added it has got to be ultra simplistic (not many choices either) and doesn't shift focus on just plain old survival. I don't want to play another Call of Duty.
-
Read out to me where it says thread and needle. Obviously it doesn't have to work like that, but bags alone shouldn't just be limited to the usual 5-6 types of military equipment. That alone is worth some attention I believe. Also if you want to get all crazy like in your post, make sure you spell check :) No offesne

I have got to admit I really like the idea of the sewers. A sewer system leading in and around the city would be an amazing setting leading to some interesting action, or just a tense moment entering / exiting the area. Being freaked out the entire time.
-
Did you not understand me? I don't want to come back as a zombie, it's as simple as that. I enjoy trying to survive, not trying to infect. Hence my earlier post.
-
I don't see the justification behind torturing people, or capturing them. Do you expect his buddies to pay a randsome? For him to tell you where his base is? It's not going to happen. I don't think it's a good idea sorry.

Hallucinations and hearing things that aren't there.
cgsprite replied to PaxC4T's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I really like the idea, I think it's a great way to freak players out even more than they tend to be. Especially in the quiet woods. But would it lend a hand to 'shoot on sight', because they're so edgy they can't deal with actually meeting someone? -
I think you bring another interesting point to it all, definitely far more in depth than I had been with my suggestion (sorry) but I really like what you've suggested.
-
If it were me, I would be too impatient to try and run around defeating the alive players. I'd suicide my zombie character straight away. I don't enjoy the thought of the idea sorry.
-
Then you should have placed it in your coat pocket, you'll need to find another way of dealing with it hehe!
-
Hell it would annoy me too, but it would make me a little more careful with my gear. I did say minuscule, you won't be leaving a trail of items I hope :) Yes Duct Tape is a must.
-
- Hehe, but it's not likely to do anything other than just annoy them.I thought glass bottles already attracted the zombies?

Great post I believe. I was wondering about loot spawn chances, will the %'s have to be drastically decreased knowing that spawn areas have improved quite a lot with the new areas / new enterable buildings and chances to find items in cars as such.
-
I don't think every so often it should grow, since you will definitely impact on how people flock to those areas. People will camp more than ever knowing every so often it'll grow larger by what ever number. Also, since the item spawn locations have grown it's almost pointless with the new art and areas.
