I ride around on a pushbike farming downed helicopters. When I get something juicy I make the best use of it I can in aggressive PvP. Even the lower tier stuff like the FN-FAL is (perhaps not so) surprisingly lethal when you just gun people down on burst mode.

It tends to overshoot on the m203 irons, just aim down a tiny bit for anything under 300m IME.

If you want a cheat sheet to get used to it then just alt tab and look at the DayZDB map. The squares are 1km square and you can accurately range find from those without any effort. EDIT: Sniping really is easy in DayZ, the bullet time is fair, the droppage is fair and completely countered by insta-zeroing (I snipe and would prefer an 8 second delay for zeroing myself). It's just that the guns are different. One tip - under zero if in doubt and aim for the top of the head - far better a bullet drops into your target's knees/lower stomach than over zerod and shooting over your target and missing.

Find a side arm. Kill sniper in tree lines near Cherno and go North. If I spawn Elektro, find sidearm and kill whoever - loot firestations then go North. If I'm bored of the North I just get a Lee Enfield and go kill anything that moves in Cherno/Elektro.

Arma 2 map editor 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 guys - 100 meters apart. See how it feels, practice on there is going to give you far better results than someone telling you a calculation :)

I had the pleasure of taking a winchester slug to the chest at 25m the other day. Did about 7k blood damage and to be fair knocked me out. I had a Lee Enfield. He didn't get back up.

Option 1. Boot everyone and try and isolate hackers = User Rage. Option 2. Close the server until hackers get bored = User Rage. Try to have some understanding here folks, Jaeger doesn't sit on a golden admin thrown chuckling as we all die to hackers, he is getting killed as much as everyone else since he is one of the few admins that actively participates in the game. He does whatever he can, whenever he can. If you lost a tent or your camp yes that sucks dick but that is an ARMA II // Battleeye issue, not Rocket's and certainly not jaegers and whilst he is doing everything he can to help the admin tools he has are limited to say the least. Server admins MUST have a day/night cycle to be linked to the HIVE. It is strongly implied therein that the developers intended us to be playing through the night time and not server hop away from it.
