Life expectancy is going down. What do you think is happening?
Nerd (DayZ) replied to hazychestnutz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Oh my gods, yes. -
I just hope I'm on guard duty when it happens. :D Unless I'm killed by the very first shot before I'm even aware any hostiles are in the area' date=' you can bet your ass i'll be taking at LEAST 4 of them with me. ;) [/quote'] From what I saw/heard in my brother's Livestream/his gloating, two people who are in this group as guards are his friends on Steam, who intend to cause a lot of damage. To wait until the main assault, and then begin shooting at other guards. They obviously would be taking a fall, as is the plan, and then if FTC is defeated they will be given a share of what is taken from your corpses when they next respawn. It's kind of my fault, since I was the one who showed him this group out of pure elation. He's a jerk. So, just keep a lookout. (Of course, he's on this site too, and can see that I posted this if he looked in my recent posts. Heheheheh.) I'm pretty sure you guys are used to this kind of thing, though.

Zed speaks dribble Couldn't agree more. So, just because he registered to the forum recenty means he never ever came here ? Maybe he was just watching the forum and didn't want to participate until he got fed up with all the whining for every modification made and made this post. Or maybe because the answer for someone trying to find a solution they don't like is "go back to COD noob", or "your tears are delicious" or "stop whining and grow some balls". Damn, it's like a sadly too big part of the ArmaII players who were angry because it became "mainstream" and were feeling superior to those who made the mistake of discovering ArmA II along with DayZ and made it clear. Maybe you'll find an army vet who just didn't learn the existence of ArmaII when it was published and discovered and who will quickly kick your ass, or someone just wiser and able to see where the imperfections of the mod are and who is able to find a solution. Or maybe it's gonna be a full-COD player who will or won't like it but at least has tried it, you don't know. TL;DR: cut the elitist crap. Hopefully that was not directed at me. From what I read, you are replying to the overtly elitist ZedsDeadBaby. I agree, he's a stuck-up fool, with delusions of importance. Ranting time! (Turn back, lest you be scalded by the steam I'm laying down, yo.) He thinks he has some inherent right to silence all before him as underlings, since he has apparently "ben arund teh 4-ums," and "is tah pro at pwnz0rin teh squishy week nubs." Guys, he's clearly a man, because he spends all his time playing the game, and no matter what you say he is better than you. No. Really. Tell us more, Zeds. In all honesty, anyone has the right to complain and suggest alternate modes of play. This was supposed to be a realistic, and frighteningly difficult mod, Zeds. Not a moribund and lackluster experience.(It isn't, but if people like you were the designers, Zeds, the mod would be very lonely) Pro tip, Zeds: when you keep seeing more, and more people complaining about the same issue(Nighttime so unrealistically dark it's laughable/glitches) and you're trying to keep a game popular, you don't go against them unless you want the userbase to become disillusioned and defunct. Honestly, what should be done is let certain servers choose what specific obstacles the players would encounter. Such as the laughable darkness. --and let other servers play with default settings. Sure, keep out the side-chat, and things like that! Make ammunition more rare, and make certain zombies into tanks. But do the community a favor, and calm down about the game, and keep your fetishistic love for HARDKOR gaming to your HARDKOR mates. One last pro tip for you; this is a mod in ALPHA, and yes, you should expect change, you fool. It will. A lot over the next few months, days even. So, take a moment and remove your embedded head from your bum, and take a whiff of something other than your own pretentious farts. Why not actually stop pretending that this mod is some kind of flawless piece of art, and star criticizing it? Suggest changes, and point out bugs. Don't just scumbag about, and act like your better for the amount of time you spend online. TL;DR, stop being a lazy and pretentious bellend, who supplies no pleasant substance to the game or userbase. ...I am so sorry, that was very unlike myself. I just got tired of seeing all these HARDKOR GAMERZ complaining about the complaining. That would be pretty neat. I do hope that this specific mod can become a standalone game, myself. -

You will be visited in the near future by a massive force. They will not attempt to hide their intentions. You know what to do.
-
Meh, they would come whether I 'Invited' them or not. I am merly stating that if they attack the Traders, that we are ready and willing to repel them with deadly force (and steal all their stuff). Here's whats most likely going to happen... Bandits that read the forum will get there 3 - 4 buddies on and see what happens when they attack... This will go on for a long time and will be reletively easy to defend against. What the Traders need to worry about are the 'Bandit Clans' with upwards of 20+ people. They are the real threat. The Location may be lost a number of times to these groups. After the initial (however long) constant combat period. Most will get bored, the Traders will flourish and become stronger as a whole thanks to the constant combat and the lule in fighting. Allowing them to be heavily equiped. Once word spreads again that the Traders have worth while stuff the 'Bandit Clans' will come back. Only this time the Traders will be much harder to push around. Self-fulfilling prophecy. A tragic circle of endings and beginnings. Really, since they can simply keep coming back, any attempt at organization will be disrupted to some extent. This is why outright banditry is truly an evil, and potently disastrous force of chaos. So long as an angsty fourteen year-old boy can re-spawn, there will be no rest for the just. Not that I'm saying it's a fool's endeavor, I'm just saying that it will never be easy, ever. Petrification of constant anarchy.

No, dood. I come across them pretty often, they aren't rare. I hope they patch the unequip/reequip glitch that refreshes the item. :/

It's secretly Engie! Nope.avi !!! :'D
-
Sounds like a bunch'a fetishists. D: Best to kill bandits like them on sight, even if you are a bandit yourself. There's no honor among killers, but you know that. :P Though, taking shots at people like them might get you an express ticket to Dirt Nap Central.

[ANZ] Finally geared up, too scared to explore..
Nerd (DayZ) replied to Remix (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just go for it, dood. Really, you're not even remotely safe, even if you're unarmed. Just go, and don't think twice about it. Keep your wits abut you, and when they kill you, (Which they will, I promise) you'll start hardening up. Keep at it, and never deviate from the path of the survivor, dood. Don't give in to that urge to shoot that awfully nice person, who trusts you and has THE BEST gear. Stay golden. :I Don't end up like me. *Runs back to the Bandit Campfire* -
Why do people trust so easily in this game
Nerd (DayZ) replied to Champloo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
People are a lot more trusting when I shoot them. They even let me rifle through their packs. -

This. This so much. "Friendly in NW Airstrip?" "Friendly in Elektro?" "Friendly in EVERYWHERE?" "FRIENDLY? FRIENDLY? WE'RE FRIENDLY DONUT SHOOT" "We're not friendly, yo." Those are the things that you will see. So much fun. :D Unless you are in the FR3 Server. That's full of дружественных в черно. -

Yeah, usually I'm a goofy asshole bum-bandit. But now I can only be a quiet asshole bum-bandit. That's no fun! Well, I was really enjoying the game despite having no side-chat. But it was a great resource for entertainment. Walking 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 km in silence with no side-chat is... highly depressing. But hey, this is Rocket's mod. He'll dow ith it what he pleases. -

Nerd (DayZ) replied to hazychestnutz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Rocket introduced bears into the game, and now they are eating everyone. Yes, this is the most likely answer. -
The game isn't hardcore enough.

Also, if you die, go find an oven and put your head in there until you're as orange as Snooki. -
Well, I assumed that shooting people you met was just how you said hello and all that, since everyone else did it to me. Like, a greeting. So that's just how I've been saying hello! D: I didn't know this was bad!

It's okay, that's how I greet people I meet, too.
