  1. As you've died the only option you'll be missing is 'pack tent'. So you can still use it as normal but it's stuck there. As long as someone's using it (items in/out), the tent should be permanent. This has more details: http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Tent
  2. This has always been my thinking also, only I'd add that you should be able to disconnect whenever, but you'll remain in the world for an extended period if you do so in combat. I'd love to see this logged so repeated combat disconnects were punished. What would make this even better would be a silent update which was enabled a week after a patch so the guys doing this get their hands-slapped by suprise! This solution seems simple but it may be a limitation of the engine that you can't tell when a player is in combat; I wouldn't see the point in Arma needing it for what it was intended for.
  3. The video settings for Arma really could do with better descriptions, for instance setting shadows to the lowest settings means they go on the cpu rather than to gpu. This isn't explained anywhere and the only reason I know is because Rocket mentioned it while he was playing with PCG's Evan on twitch. Play around with your settings and run the benchmarks (they are in single missions) and you'll see that some higher settings net you more frames. All this depends on your setup of course. Also watch that visibility setting, afaik in multiplayer it's set server side. This is worth looking at: http://www.rockpaper...ull=1#post76042
  4. First ever gun I found was an Enfield, that didn't end well. First decent gun was a M1014 at the southern airfield, it's the only one I've ever had and I'd love another. I killed so many zombies with it and had some great fun. Right now I'm using an AK-74 Kobra which I pried from someone's still-warm hands. He ran right at me with a Z-train. A friend and I had been killed by a bandit a few days before and I was super jumpy. Without thinking, I unloaded in his face with my standard AK-74. It really shook me up because I did it without thinking, didn't log in for 5 days after that, I kept thinking about it, I feel bad about it. Had he seen me? Did he run over for help? Was he friendly or would he have turned on me? No other game has ever affected me emotionally like that in respect to killing. Feels better to tell people about it, confessions of a murderous priest. It's my only ever real murder and the digit still haunts my debug monitor.
  5. Have you tried re-spawning? (esc->respawn). On the video games show I watched which introduced me to DayZ one of the presenters once spawned in as a bird, she was able to fly around, looked fun! I'd doubt they'd use pirate copies to review games being as it's a TV company. I've also heard rumors that hackers can spawn people as birds, but rumors are rumors. I'm willing to bet it's just a bug and re-spawning will sort it. I'm off to start drawing up some UML diagrams for Bird Sim 2013.
