  1. Dunno if it was said yet, but the thing about respawning is true. My friend had this happen to him, he logged out then back in and was on the beach on a fresh char. He relogged still on the beach. Looked it up, hit respawn, then rejoined and was back on his old char in his old spot with us with all his gear. Try it out. What else do you have to lose?
  2. My entire playthrough tonight, I ran into two hackers. One hacker broke everyones leg on the server (Or just my group, but I know it was a hacker, everyone dropped at exactly the same time and no shots were fired) The second time, a hacker teleported everyone on the server up into the air near the coast and we all fell to our deaths. This brings the total hackers I've run into up to 4. This is the closest together I've ever seen them. I've been playing DayZ for over a month now. I have easily over 200 hours on it, maybe more. It's not as common as people make it out to be. Sometimes you get bad luck and run into a lot of them, it sucks. Sometimes they nuke your home server with tents and vehicles and you lose it all and it sucks. Oh well. Chalk it up to bad luck, forget about that pathetic hacker and move on. He'll only ruin your enjoyment temporarily, you'll get back into the game and forget all about it while he has his hollow, meaningless "fun" with the game that he won't even remember a week from now.
  3. It was a pretty damn fun night. Got a group of 7 together, raided NWAF and Stary. Everyone kind of let their guard down around Stary, and as Cosmic said, one dude ends up taking out every single one of us with an AS50 from less than 100m away! Was good fun though, took it in stride. Hope to see you guys again soon, and to see more of you joining our merry little band.
  4. EDIT: I thought I should point out, that most of our members currently reside in North America. While we won't turn you away just for being overseas, I just want to make sure people keep this in mind when considering joining, as our more active playtimes may vary greatly from yours. Hopefully we can get enough people on at almost all times so this won't be a problem though! Hey everyone. Just to be extra clear, our intention here is to get a decent group of people together who know what they're doing. Personally, I've grown tired of hopping from group to group, trying to find reliable people to play with, only for them to either never be on, or just being bad players. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect super hardcore badasses who can take on large groups alone. I'd just like some people that know how to act when things get serious, someone who can handle themselves in a firefight. I put the utmost importance on my survival, and especially the survival of my buddies. I've got your back, so I trust you to have mine. If you want to get in contact with us, just add us on Steam or Skype. I'm almost always on so it shouldn't be hard to get in contact with me. Looking forward to playing with you all!
  5. My buddies and I were having this issue a few days ago. For some it was dark, for some it was mid-evening. Every time we relogged onto the server, it would go back to mid-evening, about 6:30/7:00. Every time. For about 5 hours. It was pretty weird.

    Zombie Survival My A***

Tell me, do you think the game would be fun at all without that sniper? Would it be fun if there was no threat to you whatsoever except easy to fool/kill zombies? Would it really feel that good fixing up that vehicle when you know there was no one and nothing standing in your way from doing it? There was no tension, no need to check your six, no real reason to play with a friend because no one is out to kill you so who needs someone to watch your six? It sucks dying. It's supposed to. It's supposed to feel bad, to feel frustrating. Learn from it, and don't make the same mistake again. You can always avoid it if you are careful and pick your moments, even playing solo. I recently lost one of my best survivors to a sniper, and it was because I got too hasty in checking out a town I had heard shooting in trying to find a target. It got me and a friend of mine killed. I learned from it. Learn from your mistakes. EDIT: Honestly bro, you have kind of missed the point of the game. But it's okay, it's not lost yet. Just stop this line of thinking now, and instead learn how to better yourself to deal with it. Some people won't play like you. Some people will kill you for no reason. Be prepared for this, instead of crying about it or saying it's a bad thing.

But the SVD comes with a built in range finder! Also it looks pretty.

How to: follow people who Alt+F4

I will probably never do this. I would just chalk it up to another person bitching out of his deserved death and move on. However, you've made the case for me to download DayZ Commander now. This friends list sounds nice.

Found a SVD camo and no ammo.. what to do..

Why do you keep saying drop it? If you don't want it don't take it. A gun that rare you won't come across often though. If you aren't a sniper yourself, or don't really care for the gun, then get into contact with Freeside Trading Co. or some other trading organization and try to trade it for something you DO want. If you are a sniper, or you fancy the gun, then keep it stored in your backpack and start looking for heli crashes or make a trip to NWAF, preferably with a friend or two if you have some. If not, make some. If you have none I'd be more than willing to make the trip with you, I'm bored and it would be fun. No, I don't want the sniper, unless you wanna trade it for some of the mediocre gear my survivor is currently carrying. No, I won't kill you for it, I've made several trips with several people on the forums before, you can check my post history if your paranoid. EDIT: You want to drop the SVD for a Crossbow? You can find those anytime. You can find barn weapons easily and at any time. That SVD is a once in a blue moon deal. Keep it. Trade it. Do something with it. Hell give it away to some random noob on the coast. Don't let it sit in a barn and disappear when the server restarts.

    Don't crouch near zombies

You can still crouch run and crouch walk around. Stick next to buildings, it keeps your visibility low. Pay attention to which way the zombies are facing. If they're looking at you either go prone or slowly walk to a building until your visibility meter goes down. Pay attention to what kind of ground you will be walking on, if it's not heavily grassy then you will likely become more visible/audible walking on it, plan accordingly. The zombie aggro system isn't perfect, but it's hardly impossible to crouch walk around them. I crouch run within 20m of zeds constantly when going through towns, you just have to pay attention and learn how the system works.

    Friend Avenged

Nice video. You should really learn how to use that M203 though. Not to be a dick or anything, just saying, you overshot that way too far.

    Wallpapers... ish

I absolutely love that second one. Nice job.

    Recommended Inventory?

You do NOT need more than 2 food/drink on you at any one time. Especially if it's canteens for drink. On one alone you can always make it from one refill area or loot spot to another to find more. If you want to stock past that it's alright, but stock too much and you won't be able to carry a second primary around in your pack, assuming you have Alice/Coyote backpack. As for medical supplies, 3 bandages 2 morphine 2 painkillers. You can get away with just one blood bag, especially if you're playing solo since you aren't super likely to get any use out of it, but I try to carry 2 whenever I can. I usually keep one bandages in my pistol ammo slot and the other two in my bag, so I have plenty of pistol ammo on me, just in case. Of course, a lot of it boils down to personal preference. I actually like being stocked up on extra food/drink when I'm not carrying a second primary, as I don't like waiting until it flashes to eat/drink, even though I know I just waste resources doing it any earlier. I dunno it's fun, my survivor is a fat ass and loves his cooked meat and pepsi. tl;dr: 3 Bandages (2 in pack 1 on person) 2 morphine 2 painkiller 2 food (cooked meat if you can) 2 drink (try to get two canteens) Optional: 1 Epi-pen Anything past this is probably overkill, as you can easily go get more supplies from any point in the map more or less with this set up. EDIT: As for Epi-pens, I always carry one when playing in groups. I don't know if I would consider carrying one necessary though. Still, I have saved lives because I had one on me at the right time before.

    I get mugged!

I love these acts of banditry. I wish people would stop alt+F4ing every time I tried this. Half the time I just wanna make friends.

Thanks for the car! (Shame on your combat logger though)

You know there's an option to turn this off right? Should be under Options > Game Settings or something like that. Bam no more headbob, enjoy all the intense, accurate experience that is first person. Anyway, nice video. That car holds a special place in my heart, seeing it was the first one I ever fixed up. I had to run to every single town around Stary to find the parts. Looking back on it as a more experienced player I am incredibly surprised I wasn't killed trying to fix it.
  17. If they bring any kind of global communication, I think it should be strictly through radios. As far as I'm concerned side chat has no place in DayZ. Sometimes it is kind of nice, even comical the stuff you'll see there, but most of the time it's just this annoying thing that won't go away. Not to mention all the people spamming their mic on it. I hope Radios are (officially?) added and put to use, that would be nice. They shouldn't be super rare though.
  18. Yeah, the first thing I check every time I join a server is my map and my buddies. If I see a tag over my buddies or I see a blue dot where I am on the map, I immediately leave and find another server. Tags make figuring out distances for snipers trivial as hell, making range finders pointless. Dots on the map are annoying because, while it's somewhat silly to be constantly checking your map while moving, you never know when someone will see you on the map because you fired 300M away or they "saw" you running through a field but didn't actually see you.

    Board? Waste Of Money

Wrong. ArmA II: CO Costs $23.99. DayZ is a free mod for ArmA II. So, no, you don't pay anything for DayZ. You pay money for ArmA II, which in turn gives you access to everything that entails, including all mods for ArmA II. As to the OP, just keep trying. This is not a casual or easy game. If you came in here expecting that, well, that's not what you're going to get.
  20. My favorite part is that you didn't abort like a bitch, instead playing the scenario out, even though it involved your death. Well played.

    Coyote Bakcpack Spawn Rate

You have to remember, that just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean they aren't there. Someone else could have come in before you and taken it, or you could just be unlucky. I've seen a couple on the ground before, but I find that the fastest way to get a coyote is to find someone with one and relieve him of it.
  22. I took him to Berezino hospital. Didn't want to take him down to the coast, I figured that would be the best place for him to get himself situated. Got him a better pack and a bunch of supplies, and a nice little M16 M203. Also a spare GPS I found in a deer stand. Hope he makes good use of it, but if not, at least he knows what the medical crates mean now. Lucky him he had someone to show him a bit how the inventory system works. Wish I had someone to help me out when I first started =P

    Free Chernarus Map

Sounds fun. Just checked out your channel, looks very helpful. You got a sub from me.
  24. My friend joined a server while wearing his, he still had all his stuff, his ghillie just disappared. I believe that's all it does is lose your ghillie, that seems to be what everyone else on the forums is saying.
