LOL here we go! Its a server option. Play hardcore if you don't like it. Why do you need to try and get something changed for people who do like it when you don't have to play with it yourself.

Removing it didn't bring any new emotions. You seem to think people miss side chat for game play reasons, but that isn't the case for me. I liked talking to people while doing boring tasks in game, I liked answering newbie questions and defending the poor Russians. It has nothing to do with what you presume people's reasons are.

Then me and the majority of players can enjoy our care bear third person server with side chat while you nerd off in one of the 10 hardcore servers that cater to your needs. Removing side chat didn't change anything. What actually caused change was fixing direct communications. Now that everyone knows it works people use it, imagine that.

If it was optional to the server it would be fine. Don't know why it isn't. Seems like only a minority of players wanted it gone to begin with. Most people on my server used it to chat and share experiences. Zedsdeadbaby tries in every thread to make it sound like some cool game play decision when it isn't. I play on one server, have multiple friends I've made on that server (through side chat, coincidentally), and if I need a blood transfusion or morphine I can shift tab and ask one of them for it. Side chat doesn't change squat, it just ruins any sense of server community and makes boring 3000m jogs even more boring.

Blah blah dayz elitists blah blah. Fact is I play alone, I have no one to play with, and I enjoyed side chat. Doubtless a majority of players enjoyed side chat. Removing side chat ruined my server community and I'm mad about that. The last patch has made the game loads more fun than it was, but I still miss side chat and think it was silly to remove it. The majority of players don't mind side chat. Unfortunately the minority of players that wanted side chat removed included Rocket, so I doubt this will be reversed.

yep, taking away side chat was misguided. a minority of players do not like side chat, so side chat is removed. a majority of players enjoy 3rd person(judging by server settings), a minority does not, now they are talking about taking that away aswell? why not leave these kind of decisions to the server admin instead of making these sweeping changes to things that should be left to personal preference. no side chat sucks, it ruined my server community that i quite enjoyed. i don't have anyone to play with and I enjoyed having people to talk to while running around the map
