What I'm afraid of is that disconnecting to avoid death is a common advice given to new players, and has been assimilated as a "feature" of the game by some players... It reminds me of that friend who used to play Diablo II in hardcore mode with a Trainer cheat that killed diablo2.exe process when you're HP were low, he didn't feel like he was cheating...

Hey, I really love this mod and I think this needs JSRS support or another sound gestion, that would be really neat to hear gunshot far away loud and clear, and not little "puff" "puff" even if you're just 500m away, that would also help player locate sound source and percept if he's making lot of noise, bringing zombies over. Yep, entering chernogarsk heading lost gunshots in the city would be thrilling, I really think that would add a whole new dimension to the realism and survival aswell as roleplay aspect of the mod.

I feel like people want DayZ to become a Tear-free mod, but this is that ragequit potential that makes the game ! (This does include the "Oh no I didn't switch to female when I was ask to !")

IF Multiple character system is added to DayZ I think it would be easy to exploit this system to get loot easily (Imagine you have to get a rotor in one of the factory on the coast, you could just create a character to do so while your main character would take no risk at all) One way to avoid that is a Planetside 1 like system, once you switch character you have to wait 12 hours to use another one. Edit: Oh nevermind this post, I'm out of subject here.

Hmmm the software doesn't check for any existing install of @DayZ when folder is set, I had it installed and it directly downloaded every file for no reason. I guess that's a bug.

the name of the mod doesn't matter my folder could be named @azertyuiop and I could still join @dayz server, I don't get what's your problem ? Is arma II CO not launching properly ? -
I spawned with -10k humanity for no reason, it went all the way up to 1500 again, then I had to kill someguy who wasn't answering. Went down to 3000, still not a bandit.

Press alt to move your head around.(yes in arma you can move your head independtly from your body) Most important thing ever. Otherwise, i'd recommend you to discover by yourself dayz, so you get all the "newbie" surprise we all got ! Much better feel than watching videos before hoping in. -
People run around with Flares for a reason and you must not forgot it. At night, you can't see 2cm above your nose, you can't even see your own feets. I would feel lame calling noob someone with a flare, when you spawn you just don't really have a choice. Especially when next to town. Throwing them away to light up your path is a nice way of doing so aswell, but in cities, when you just hopped in for the first time ? Come on...

I just wish some of the zeds could Walk rather than run, I'm a romero kind of guy I prefer walking zombies rather than running ones... It doesn't mean they should be easy to shoot. I feel like if they were walking, the players would feel more safe, when in fact they're not at all. (coming from every side etc.) But that would need to thing: one bite or two and you're done. + instadeath only when in the heads.

Yep right now the only place worth going for good stuff is the airfield and went there. Now people tends to recognize building where the good stuff is and just go there, hangars, barracks, firestation. This is just a matter of time before it kills the game. I guess mission and stuff should come soon (in beta maybe?).

Arma 2 retail + arrowhead on steam do works, don't worry about that (that's what i'm using), juste use Arma II Launcher to launch Arma II CO properly. -
Yes also FR is one hour late on the french hour, not sure though time seems to unsynch sometime.

Still not working right, it works at some moment ,does not at others, right now it's killing the game, I don't go in town and meet people anymore because there is no communication and only shooting (especially if you're a bandit, people tend to see your outfit or red name on relaxed realism server and just shoot you down.) -

I've just seen so much post and people complaining about this I thought I should post a working solution everyone can see. This is the shortcut you must use to get arma II CO working properly . The exe is the arma2oa.exe "-mod=[PUT YOUR ARMA II FOLDER HERE];ca;@dayz -nosplash" Usually your arma II folder is: C:/Program Files (x86)/Bohemia Interactive/Arma 2 C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/arma 2 Should fix it. (Of course, no brackets after the .exe) -

VOIP is working sometime, and other time it isn't, it really ctreates lots of confusion and useless murder ingame.

Credan, even with a key behind bind to Direct Chat PTT , all volume maxed up. IT DOESNT WORK ! Triplechecked with numerous people, everyone on global is confirming it's not working . Haven't you heard people have become really silent since 1.4.3 ? Lips move but you can't hear people talking. I'm ASSURED 100% of that. -
Is VOIP Fixed ? I'm still not certain it works ....

People can't read local chat text or speak/being heard (it works sometime for some, and not for others) (Yes I did bind a key for local chat PTT, lips move but can't hear people most of the time)

It's full, but I'm pretty sure it's not working, people keep saying people are ignoring and stuff and the that ambiance is very tense. But I met a lot of people, and none of them shot at me, we just weren't able to communicate, only through global. Broken since 1.4.6

Nice story you got there, my personal opinion is that bandits are the less obvious person, even some who had the skin I met were really frendly people. Otherwise, I had a really epic and tense night yesterday, got ambushed in mogliveska , we were a group of 4 going back into the forest, then we saw a flare coming on us, and saw 2 muzzle flashes and ball impact coming at us, we split up, and all took one hour to get back to the camp we setted up, to figure out that three of us were still alive. Right now i've been wandering around and been living for almost a full day, heading north *giggles* . -
Guys please read the forum, the stuck at loading is a known bug, we just have to wait for a fix, no need for you to reinstall Arma or the mod if you've triplechecked alreadly.
