I remember the first time I made the mistake of picking up an Alice pack and dropping a full pack load of mags, meat and morphine that decided to disappear from the face of Cherno before my eyes :( Def do as the previous poster said - open pack you want to pick up, tranx your stash to the new pack THEN pick it up. Hearts wont be broken this way.

For anyone really for disabling 3DP etc... Devils advocate says that this is why it's good to have servers to allow options for different preferences. If you only want 'hardcore' servers, fine, go and play on them. No one will stop you. You might see me every now and then and I'll probably be hoarding an AK and mags lol. BUT. I also feel that the choice of CH/3DP on servers should be the servers choice as it allows a better distribution of players and doesn't restrict anyones personal preferences. Just because you want to play in the dark doesn't mean everyone else in the world has to turn their lights off, you see? Peace out

Meat obtained as per above post will give you 800 blood each piece. I think off memory that goats give you 4 meat, cows 8 meat etc.... Alternatively, normal canned food like beans, sardines, frank n beans give 200 blood per can. It'll take a lot of cans to get you where you need to be, but if you're having bad luck in finding hatchet/matches/knife then this is your only other option other than transfusion I'm afraid. You really need to get above 4k blood to avoid fainting so it might be best to suicide if you havent got the above means

Personally, I would really only suggest playing as the situation dictates, if you're a sole survivor. If you need to avoid, do so. If you need to kill ditto. There's no button to press to confirm if you're a killer or non killer, so feel free to do as you wish, when you wish, at your own risk however you deem fit :P

Just no. There's a huge learning curve in this game and not everyone is perfect as shooting, mowing or sniping from day 1. Aim this statement at console gamers and ask them if they are as good as handling a gun in this game compared to MGS on PS3 for instance (yes myself included). Im still really poor at handling a gun on a keyboard compared to a console but I'm adapting and learning as any noob should! Moral of the story? Stop ranting about peoples skills that are better than your own. We all suffer learning curves IRL, so if one person is better at handling a gun without practice either IRL or in game, kudos to them. There should be no restrictions on learning curves. If you can't adapt and learn then kthxbye. This isn't an RPG.

Yes they exist, Im one of them. I've experienced the same as you - no intention to kill, they said they were friendly. I let my guard down and got shot in the face amidst direct chat of laughter. This is what causes KOS mentality I'm afraid

That's the first word I think of if an apocalypse were to ever bear down on our society. No laws, no repercussions, no right or wrong. Just the dregs of human life trying to survive it. We may think 'humanity' will save us, but isn't it our own humanity that drove us here in the first place? Wars, suffering, cruelty and disease...the ever extending gap between the rich and poor. A never ending cycle of greed, deceit and warfare. Where no one governs, we govern ourselves. Greed, humanity or just the balls to try and survive alone in an inhumane existence is all that can drive us to keep on trying no matter the cost. This is my world. This is DayZ.

Anyone seen or read The Stand? Yes I know the tv series was lame as are most Stephen king adaptions but it's this depiction of a post apocalyptic world that I think of the most when I enter DayZ.

Thx crimson but the last time I went to nwa on a UK server there was wire everywhere. It was not only the first time I went solo to the airfield but the first time I saw barbed wire too and was all dafuq?! I tried to hop over and ended up with a broken leg, bled out and started fainting. You can imagine how the rest of this ditty went >.> After some research (wiki, shhh don't tell anyone) and finding out toolboxes could cut wire I respawned on the same server to find a toolbox ASAP. By the time I found a spawn it had been wired off and I wasn't willing to risk my life hopping over it again QQ. I've started to notice wire is a bit of a troll/ server hopper exploit though so simply dont bother with anymore. Maybe it's a Euro server thing idk

Nwa will be just as heavily wired. Drop a load of empty tins cans outside, take a dump on the lawn and respawn! On another server lol. Honestly the only way to combat trolls is to ignore them. So if you're spawning on server where all the best spots are barbed wired off, just leave the server. What fun is it for the troll to rule the country when there's no one to rule? Just my 2 euros

Morals are born from society, no? We've been conditioned to believe certain things are right or wrong because of our conditioned society. Don't get me wrong, the first time I KoS I felt pretty shitty for a couple of hours lol but this is because I've been taught killing is bad. People say things like, being civil has got us to where we are today but where are we exactly? The large scale: we still kill other people for power. The small scale, we still troll people for power lmao. We are no more advanced in our modern world than we were in the stone age. A mod like this really highlights that fact Why can't we all just get along :derp

I love 1st person and actually hate 3rd. Not just in this game but every game I've ever played. 1st gives such an amazing immersion feel (and I'm a sucker for immersion) but I can understand why folks like 3rd. Not only for the gameplay elements of seeing things you should never be able to see in RL - have you ever 360'd you own arse? - but because people can relate to their character etc etc. Me, I AM my character, so I'll always play 1st because that's how I roll. However given freedom of choice is definitely the way forward, I would love to see a stable future of servers dictating their own personal preferences.

Anything more than 10-15 seconds is putting you at risk of being stumbled upon by another player who you may genuinely not have been aware of. Imagine finding what you believe is a safe zone, logging out then a minute later someone finding your inert self and taking a golden opportunity to kill or steal. Or even worse, someone spawn logging into the same location! I think 15 seconds is a suitable amount of time to make sure you're safe. If you get killed within 15 seconds you were either incredibly unlucky and had someone logging into your same spot (unlikely) or you just didn't scope out the area well enough (likely) Edit: as mentioned above, anyone purposefully disconnecting in a conflict will be dead in 15 seconds
