No, it's not designed to tell you who killed you, ala death match style. Silent, anonymous killers.

Zombies spawning in front me has happened as well. Not 50 or 100 yards away, literally in front of my eyes and close enough to smell it's fetid breath. I've also had weird zombie spawn areas, i.e. stuck in deer stands. And they only appear as I approach a few feet away. Not only that, I had one instance at Balota where it glitched in and out of existence as they do sometimes after dying, yet still managed to land some blows during it's glitches. I've also noticed a major lack of spawns. One server - FR20 -had spawns a plenty, but they were all vehicle related loot spawns. Whilst in the factory area of Elektro tonight, I came across 3 helicopter rotor assemblys in minor and medium spawns locations within the space of 10 minutes. Plus a ludicrous amount of scrap metal, jerry cans and windscreen glass.

Same here. I've made a point these last 24 hours to chuck cans around because of the deathwish agro state of the new zombs. No reaction!

I beg to differ! I like playing on night servers and without nvg's purely because I'm a night owl :P It makes creeping on zombies and stalking players so much more intense, pushing the boundaries of the new 'vision' detector lol EDIT: In fact, I will often spend a couple of hours trying to find a (poorly and often incorrectly labelled) night server

It would be great if the new patches and hotfixes that follow could be easily accessed without having to trawl through 53+ pages of comments. In other words, lock the thread that announces them. It will make things easier on me, you and the devs. Comment threads should be established elsewhere of course with a very open forum, but I feel that having a locked thread with the devs updates would ease up on the 'stuck on loading screen' posts that seem to flood this forum every time an update occurs and it's already been explained why people are stuck on the loading screen Just my 2 pennys

Yeah, I have but not the same issues exactly. I have problems where I'm pegging it in a full sprint or crouch run and my character just stops for no reason. The only way to resolve this problem is a bit of button bashing or hit 'S' to back up. Dunno if this is a lag issue? (Can someone confirm?) However, you will stop running up steep inclines - this is normal. So if you've button bashed the W key whilst stopped on the incline, expect to be full sprinting upon a regular incline. Something I learned in my early dayz - if you want to instantly jump from sprinting to crouch running, just hit 'X' and if you wanna switch from crouch running to sprinting, hit 'C.' I made the mistake of double tapping W to sprint from a crouch run all too often (and after so many lives had been lost)

I was in Dubrovka, a little cropping of houses west of Berezino. It was pitch black, could see jack sh£t and heard zombies everywhere. I felt a bit stuck because I'd gone in there trying for all might to find a damn hatchet even though I knew I was in the wrong place but such is life. I did something on my keyboard and all of a sudden, my viewpoint did a 360 spin and I was unable to move properly. WSAD had betrayed me! Wow. I almost DC'd in terror when I realised I couldn't move and a zomble was heavy breathing like a hundred year old sex craved maniac down my neck :( Instead, I decided to check out my controls to see where the f I'd gone wrong. Newbies take note. If you ever become 'stuck' with your mouse moving your view 360 degrees and you're not moving an inch the way WSAD should be moving you, tap ALT twice. You've been stuck in freeview mode. I hope my little story helps at least one person because it damn well helped me

I actually dont mind losing hours/days worth of careful looting only to lose it to a random KOS'er. But what I find sad is, an actual sad way, is that IF the player didn't decided to shoot on sight, and IF I hadn't felt the urgent requirement to reciprocate the bullets in the groin situation, we might have both got out alive, no worse off and maybe even better off. Instead, human greed and fear made us kill each other and we both ended up with nothing. Sad.

The map is 225 x 225 km, with dozens of deer stands, 3 army bases, a crap load of outlet villages plus at least 3 more big towns. Why the hell are you caring about spawn looting at Cherno/Elektro?!? Tough. I kind of agree with the OP and previous poster. However, I'm inclined to say that if you don't get enjoyment out of a game (can we say Silent Hill 5?) then don't play it. I know it sounds like a brush off statement, but to be honest, its the most honest one you'll get. Dont like? Dont partake. The big difference between life and this 'anti-game' is that you can choose NOT to partake in the game, whereas life - tough. So not to be a party pooper, but if it's not your thing, no need to stress over it! Find something that you enjoy. As above poster said, there are many that enjoy the game in it's intentions so we'll stick around.

Well, by all means hook me up on any servers I'm on. My in game name is the same as the forum and I play UK, EU, LU, FR or DE servers with almost no exception. I wont teamspeak with anyone unless I trust them implicitly tho, so meet, greet n eat with strangers is essential before I befriend :D EDIT: I do have a mic so I can direct chat in game

Free view is great; I'm pretty sure just about everyone who knows about it uses it! You can also double-tap ALT to toggle it on instead of pressing NUM (*). Oh believe me, now I know about it, I'm using it :P Thing is, the controls for the mod (if you haven't played Arma II) aren't exactly handed to you on a silver platter so its been a bit of a crazy experiment especially for a console gamer like myself who's not used to using a keyboard for things other than, I dunno, typing sh£t lol

I have problems with US servers - my ping is too high :( I play all hours of the day or night depending on my work pattern, but my ping on US anytime is 400+

Cheers dears, I will faff around with it when I log back in shortly. I was playing at night at the time I bothered to actually try it, but no joy! I doubt I'll ever use it tbh but its good to know things work as they should regardless

I always play female, because I'm genuingly a female and like to stay in character :) 1. I have no idea whether I've been treated differently as a girl because, well, I've only been playing since the female skin was put in place and have never played a fella. 2. I do sense (my lady sense tingled at the time) that as a female who proved to be a REAL female by direct voice that I received good treatment from a fella (who also proved himself to be a real fella on voice). 3. But that hasn't stopped me being - a) shot on sight by random non-contacts b) being shot after making voice contact with groups of men Actually, this thread has made me realise something weird....I've yet to meet another woman in the game. Ever. I have a feeling that if a woman-to-woman contact situation were to crop up, that we might decide to team up better than a mano-o-mano one. Who knows. If there's any other woman out there that care to confirm or deny, feel free to join me so I don't feel so alone :P
