This game is built for amazing stories, I swear. I was in Staroye, and was slowly making my way to the barn in the north, when along the way I drank my last canteen of water. So lucky for me the water pump in Staroye was just outside of the house I was looting. The second I finished filling it I hear a zombie running for me. I quickly find him and dispatch him, lucky for me not attracting anymore. But as I loot the zed's Pepsi I hear two cracks of a rifle, and a bullet wizz by me and hit the fence just above my head. I immediately stood up and ran as fast as I could down the street, putting as many buildings between me and the shooter as I could. As I run by the barn I wanted to loot, three zombies aggro me and give chase. So I hightail it into the tree line nearest the barn, whip around and kill all three. But my shooter was still out there. I slowly crawled my way to the tree line over looking the small town and see not just one, or two, but three bandits slaughtering zombies, each armed with sniper rifles. Thanks to the being able to see a player name from fucking miles away, I couldn't just stay and hide, hoping for them to pass me by, so I had to run into a nearby forest and up a mountain :P

This is why I live far, far, far away from high-traffic areas. I just avoid people altogether :P

I love how it is now. Makes it way better and keeps the noobies and bandits in the big cities in the south.

I'm in the same boat, but I only have an ALICE bag, so it can't fit more than my M1014, four 8rnd M1014s, three cooked meats, three water bottles, and a morphine injection. Plus I have my M1911 with 5 clips, and 3 bandages. The hatchet, knife, toolbox, map, compass, watch, and binoculars. I also JUST found a ghillie suit within the last hour. The only thing I can really hope to find is a bigger bag. So I've decided to just live in the hills between Mogilevka and Novy Sobor and hunt animals for food, while going to a nearby well for water when I need it. It's oddly calming to be fully geared and far north..

Hey all, This is my first post, but I've been in the game for about 2-3 weeks now. But for the first time I am playing with a friend. Unfortunatly I can't seem to find my mic, so we are using Steam chat. But I can't continue Alt+Tabbing every thirty seconds in a game like this. So I want to use the direct channel, but since 80% of the community would hunt us down for our beans, I am afraid to use it without knowing the actual distance it can be heard. So that's the question. How far off can Direct communication be heard?
