Zombies have a use! Sometimes they drop food, drink. or ammo that I need! YEAH! ummm other then that, mostly a nuisance on a new and unarmed character, I don't even bother to avoid them anymore.

If you have a bus, they can hear you for miles, even before the town spawns in front of you. It's best never to stop if you have it as you have attracted the attention of anyone else nearby. They aren't really useful other then to troll with on the main highway on the coast. If I heard that comming I would have gone in a building waiting to see if you walked into town as well, blast your arse, and steal that shit.

It's simple he wanted to kill you away from the city (Better chance of someone else not hearing the shots) and when you had useful supplies to loot. You were a piggy bank to him. This is why I only role with my clan or friends on vent, anyone else I see is a target due to stuff like this. One of the few times and this was early on I tried to be nice to a weaponless player, he eventually stole a spare pistol out of my bag for a clanmate I was bringing it to (I let him follow me so he could get to a barn nearby) and he tried to shoot me with it, he was too far out of range at the time, but he still tried to shoot me in the back. After killing him, giving him the ol' t-bag, I decided never to do that again.

Yeah US 104 Chicago (My clan's server) has been visited the last few days after a long streak of no issues from hackrs. Seems to me some new sort of cheat came out and all of the hackers went out and got it.

Only dangerous on a new character withotu a wepaon, even then if you run around buildings enough or through them you can ditch them easy. They are more for telling me if someone is in the area or just had been then a threat. They also reveal your location as well, but that's the trade off.

Should have killed him with a hatchet or your secondary, he wasn't worth the DMR rounds tbh, unless all you had was the DMR.

1st case, 50/50 chance that was a server auto restart, or a restart to fix an issue. The second case, 100% pussy bitch mode on admin's part.

Hello, I am from the clan that runs this server, we are aware of the hacker(s) that have been on the server lately. I myself made a thread here yesterday on it as at least one of the hackers found my livestream on twitch and "had fun with me", IE turning me into farm animals and spawning huey choppers for me to fly around in. Thread link and lots of video footage: Link The hack that is going on right now does not appear to be tracable the old fashion way (seeing scripts being run) nor can we see their player name on our server. It seems to be a common theme right now with this paticular hack and many servers have been visited by folks who do this. From what I observed with my time with the hacker the other night is they do have god mode, invis, spawning abilities, can transform you into animals/army soldiers, spawn weapons, etc, etc. ZerogravitySE is our server admin and guild leader you can send him a PM if/when you spot this person on our server, as of right now we and many others are waiting on a patch to fix this exploit, my recommendation would to stay away from any choppers (They are not legit) and any sort of truck/tent filled to capacity with unsual amounts of high end guns and tons of ammo for them. We have had to destroy a few rides and I myself had to throw away a few DMRs and 50 cals with ammo into the ocean that were in a tent at the beach the other day. Who leaves DMRs and 50cals at the spawning beach with ammo and all sorts of stuff like range finders? So far the hacker(s) that have visited the server have mostly just been messing with people versus killing everyone so I would recommend just staying away from them.

Alrighty, this is a little odd as to what happened to me, but I wanted to post this stuff now in case someone says anything about my clan's server, or me due to what happened the other night. I am a member of Wolves of War on US 104, we have had some hack attacks on our server before, most of these were caught on either my livestream on twitch or from some of our other members who stream. Previous attacks: 2 nights ago I had a hacker who found me on twitch, pinpointed where we were on our server and he started to play around with me. He first turned me into a bore, then a goat, then a army soldier. I eventually figured him out as a twitch viewer and had some laughs with him. He spawned me a few helicopters, turned me into a goat again (so I could mess with a few people), and he also rammed a helo into another guy we suspected was cheating. There was a second guy in Cherno that we fought and could not kill. Anyways, I made some youtube videos of what the hacker did to me, and spawned and wanted to throw this out there to hopefully show the devs what to look for, or the results of what people are doing with the hacks. 1. Turning people into critters 2. Spawning weapons/invo items 3. Spawning Huey choppers 4. Invis/Invulnerable hack I do want to make something very clear here, even though we played with the huey, and I had fun as a goat we never killed anyone or kept anything this guy gave us. The Huey choppers either crashed due to lag or we ditched them in the sea to get rid of them. The guy was just messing with us and since we could not stop him as our admins could not see scripts running we decided to have fun with it since he was watching my stream. We do not condone cheating, nor do we tolerate Alt-f4 noobs either, but since we were powerless to stop this we had a few laughs with the hacker before he logged out. We could not figure out who he was either, so we can't stop him from coming back currently (If he ever does). In this rare case a hacker was being "cool" but we have had plenty of other hackers in DayZ in general be total d-bags, this incident gave me a chance to record "live" the powers these guys have over the servers (kinda sad the security is so bad tbh). Yeah he changed the load outs, and switched them back, but we made sure that we didn't have any of that stuff. There is a part (dunno if it's int he clips) where my clan mate gets his weapon swapped for a 50 cal and he asks the hacker guy to give him back his old weapon as the 50 wasn't legit.

At Gyroslave: Well we couldn't get rid of him and he was targetting me via my stream, what am I just supposed to stop a whole night of gaming cause of it? I made the best of the situation, the guy could have just been killing us over and over again or other people on the server, instead of playing around with me. I didn't use him for "twitch views" either I play/stream to have fun and not to be an attention whore like so many do on twitch. It's mostly just to show the fun the clan and I are having with one another, and it gets us new members sometimes. I'm 30, married, and have a daughter. I do not care for the attention of 13 year olds, I stream as a form of recruitment and to have fun with others. I have far greater things to worry about then stupid viewer counts on the interwebz. At Woodland: Thanks man, it was either shut the server down and ruin everyone's fun for the night or play along with this guy since he had me as a target. At Kirix: If I get banned for being specifically targeted by a hacker who our admins could not find via running scripts or what the player name was cause the security in this game is a good as a screen door on a submarine, well then the dayz folks don't have their priorities straight. I'm a Wolves of War member, I also stream on twitch.tv when I play, please disconnect in front of me to avoid death, having video footage and a bunch of people watching you be a coward on my stream will be lulzy as Zero is perma-banning you. As for knowing when we have someone doing this it's pretty easy to see who is doing it, when they pop in and out of the server in front of us like they are flipping a light switch, firing a shot, DCing, loading back in, firing a shot, DCing, there is NO EXCUSE, no "lag", no "bad interwebs", you are a fooking coward. We had a case just last night of a guy doing this, recorded on 2 streams that were going at the time of him popping in and out every 30 seconds, firing a shot, and DCing.

LOL at this thread and the OP, I am the person with the youtube video just posted by Zero, I asked him to post it as that is what happened last night around 530PM EST, here is the time line of the 3 attacks I have witnessed on my server, in ALL 3 attacks our clan mates including me get killed off, so if you think it's because we are doing it on purpose you are an idiot. In 2 of 3 of these cases it's either instant or within a 20 second time frame, that is not enough time for Zero to log out of the game server and remote desktop into the admin console/server host server. Case number 1: Whole server getting nuked. I thought this was a bug and not a hack, later int he night we found out it was a nuke hack, a 3rd of the people on that list are Wolves of War members: Zero was AFK and it wouldn't of mattered even if he was around, how do you stop something that takes 1 second? Case number 2: This was LAST NIGHT at around 530PM EST time, maybe 6ish, the vehicles spawn, and within 20 seconds we are all dead, Zero did not have enough time to switch over and shut the server down until it was too late, he then went into admin chat and found other servers being attacked. Case number 3: Think it was just DayZ issues last night? WRONG, the co-op and normal multi-player servers were under attack as well, I joined a fresh co-op game waiting to see what was going to happen with our dayz server and this shit happened: BTW: I stream on twitch when I play this, so quite a few people outside the clan witness and hear everything we are doing, when this BS goes down, it hurts us, we don't like it and there isn't much of a defense to it, all we can do for now is suck it up and wait for the ARMA guys to put in a patch to fix the security holes. It's not the admin's fault, or my clan's that this game has security measures like a screen door on a submarine.
