  1. Hi, I've posted this on Steam, and Reddit, both with no answer as to whether any other server hosters are having this issue. I recently updated my server to 1.0, I've automated the entire process of deploying and updating my game servers and infrastructure, it has worked flawlessly and continues to. Since updating the DayZ server to 1.0 it no longer appears in the list, I took extra steps to delete the entire server and its contents and redownload using SteamCMD, but still nothing showing in the Community list. Direct connecting works just fine. What's going on, is anybody having the same issues, and when is there going to be a patch to resolve this issue?

    Stable Update 1.0.149974

Previously, it was GamePort+1 whereas following this I had to open 27016 on the firewall for it to display in the server browser. I haven't attempted to change the steamQueryPort - but if this is the case it might be that the recent server updates made it begin listening to the steamQueryPort parameter, if it wasn't done previously.

    Stable Update 1.0.149974

Still nothing about the fact that self hosted servers, since the 1.0 patch, need to now open port 27015-27016 for the server to appear in the list whereas this wasn't the case previously. When are you going to acknowledge this, and post information? This was previously GAMEPORT+1, now it has reverted to the old way of 27015/27016. @ImpulZ you may not be the guy for this, but you seem to be the only DayZ staff/forum member who's making an attempt to reply and post info so I'm tagging you for your awareness.
  4. Are you still having this issue? Absolutely no response from any staff members on this, but I've got mine working since my last post so I'm happy to offer assistance if you need it.
  5. For some reason I can't remove your tag of me in this quote, but anyway. The primary side of Bohemia, which has worked on Arma, has much better communication and interaction with their community, from forum admins to developers like dwarden who are well known, respected and engaged with and by the community. The Bohemia Simulations staff have also maintained good communication with the Arma community even after they went acquired by private equity in 2013. In my time here, since 2012, I have yet to receive an answer for any genuine question regarding plans for the game beyond purely cosmetics. That's 6 years of silence from a development team who DO have customer interaction on social media and the likes. No reason for that silence, no explanations, no answers to questions, so like you said - I'll be here expecting piece meal social engagement though I won't be relying on it, piece meals should usually keep your metabolism ticking - not leave you get in a caloric deficit while you want to be fed more.
  6. Though, I do agree with their redesign of the engine as I think it suits the genre, and I'm quite happy about the OOP language they've chosen to implement over SQF, which in my opinion is a dreadful outdated language.
  7. Bottom line is, we're asking what development process is used that elicits the redesign of systems and UI's which are already functioning, because what ever the business model I double a product owner or business analyst would happily sit down and agree to yet another rewrite or redesign. We, the customers, are asking why that's the case and exactly what assurances we have as customers, now this game is released, that our money spent which made us customers, is being put toward valid product delivery - of which we have every right to ask. I have absolutely no problem with Bohemia Interactive, and I certainly don't need to research their history to ask them any sort of question, not do they have to discuss private company policies, but waterfall & agile aren't exactly risky information to share now are they, considering there are endless amounts of companies who share this publicly - it's a methodology, not intellectual property. Sharing this information is very much equivalent to a proper roadmap, got a link to the most recent and most up to date roadmap? If you're interested, I've searched. P.S: Mojang actually had 41 employees when they were acquired by Microsoft
  8. There's clearly a language difference between us, so I'll use <sarcasm></sarcasm> tags from here on in, no offense.
  9. And who owned them before Microsoft?
  10. How often, if ever, do the DayZ developers or development staff actually respond to threads like this? I've had outstanding questions for days, with not even a bat of an eyelid.
  11. They haven't helped as much as copious amounts of coffee

    Little help plox

Was it your cousin, by any chance?
  13. I'm genuinely interested in this thread and where it can go. To be perfectly clear, I am not "flaming" or raging against Bohemia or the DayZ team in the slightest, I, like others here are simply pointing out observations from what we've experienced so far as customers. Why was the server browser recreated? Why are there in announced breaking changes taking place, such as the server browser now binding to port 2701x whereas previously it was gameport+1? The lack of server documentation doesn't help us understand what the official ports are Why the many different status dialog updates? Where is the support and documentation for server hosting? We are in the dark when it comes to issues and it's better to have technical info on a wiki that we can read when deploying instances. To better understand how these decisions are made, it's good to understand if you work in an Agile or waterfall manner, if agile then it's interesting because it seems that the customers are not involved in that feedback loop where we can say if we're not interested in seeing another server browser - to exert your energy in other aspects of the game, though I don't think there's a single game development team that works directly with the customer rather than an internal stakeholder/customer who signs off on features.
  14. colinm9991

    @Bohemia big security problem

Post it on the feedback tracker, or send an email with high importance with reproduction steps
  15. Even though you are quite clearly a dedicated fan who is getting defensively offensive because you feel attacked, I'll entertain you nonetheless. The companies I've worked for, and currently work for, actually do discuss with and present that process to customers (of which you are not). It's called being transparent and you taking offense to that just goes to show that you'd be quite happy with terrible customer support, completely illogical. What do you do? Because if I'm correctly remembering, I am not asking you for transparency on how you're learning from bugs introduced, obviously you're quite happy to pay for a product not delivered as described, and the minimal customer interaction that comes with that.

    DayZ Crashing Since 1.0

Can you prepare a report and post its contents here inside a spoiler tag?
  18. That's all a terrible excuse for allowing lacking quality, when people are posting constructive feedback based on the 1.0 release. Yes, staff are working to fix bugs and issues, but more importantly - what are the team actually learning and taking on board as they go through releases riddled with issues and bugs? We seem to be in the same position every release, some bugs that reappear over time, which to me indicates that there is a lack of quality assurance before patches and releases are pushed out. What quality strategies do the team currently have, and what are you guys doing to improve your ways of working? I have yet to receive an official response from staff which contains more than just the "we take things very seriously" words, I like to see visuals - diagrams depicting the flow of work and where improvements are being made, it shows more effort and seriousness. Currently it just seems to be a group of developers working on something 'cool' and pushing patches out with no time spent on the development processes and lifecycle, while the rest of the company works on the much bigger picture with much richer and more mature ways of working. This absolutely is not an insult, and do not take it that way, it is feedback from one developer who works in regulated environments, to another group of developers.

    Stable Update 1.0.149923

You can either use the Launcher and specify the IP and Port in the Parameters tab, or use the -ip= -port= startup parameters, which is what the launcher does.
  20. Who's your server host? Do they possibly have a firewall one level up on the network?
  21. colinm9991

    New server browser is garbage

It certainly is a step backwards, and it would be good to see the reasoning behind spending time on creating a new design rather than fundamental parts of the game.
  22. colinm9991

    NULL pointer to instance

Can you update the post with it? We can't debug/help if we don't have enough information about the event. -- Edit: Try the above recommendation please with changes to your script, I can see the stack trace isn't very helpful
  23. If you're hosting one, try forwarding 27016 as mentioned above and see if that works.
  24. colinm9991

    NULL pointer to instance

Swap around the if statement conditions, your logic currently says IF item_to_Edible_Base is Meat AND item_to_Edible_Base is Not Null Which has the possibility of checking if a null item IsMeat first before validating that it's actually a valid object. You should first check for null, then if IsMeat, as the && will short-circuit the statement if the first condition is false. See if the issue occurs after that, you could also put diagnostic logging in to see how far the script gets in its execution. Is there a stack trace included in the log which you have omitted, or is it purposely blank?
  25. So I've discovered what the change is in the previous versions of the server package, compared to 1.0. It now binds to port 27015/27016 for the server browser, and this needs to be opened on your firewall for INCOMING traffic. The documentation and support for the server package is terrible, I do hope there are plans to change this.
