I have to share the view that it's ridiculously hard at the moment. If people (hardcore) want to start the game without a weapon then fine. The rest of us would like a fair chance to actually enjoy the game for a while and scavenge for better weapons/resources because at the moment, I can't go anywhere near a building due to the zeds. I never played ARMA so to be in this situation i.e. not able to defend myself from the start of the game seems extremely harsh on noobs like me.

The UI is awful as well as the inventory. I still can't turn on a torch lol Only played a few hours yesterday and got nothing but grief of zombies who unfortunately can swim and climb ladders!?!

I'm a complete noob and spwn on the coast "mostly" any buildings I have seen have been surrounded by zeds. How am I supposed to go from here?

Didn't see an "introduce yourself thread" I'm an online racer using F1 and GT cars, don't normally bother with FPS and online gaming as it's normaly a waste of my time, too many idiots and cheats/hackers spoiling it for others. Anything you do in a game wont benefit your real life in any way yet people still feel immense pride by being a comlete ****** in a computer game and let's not forget that fact, it's a game. Today I sumbled upon the dayz mod on youtube. Some American guy posting day 3/7/10 gameplay videos, really entertaining actually so I thought I would look into the game a bit more. I've spent £25 via steam today as a result of this mod on a game I would not have touched with a barge pole before. I love the zombie stuff, Walking dead etc What a brilliant story though. The fella that modded this game has been approached by the game devs? that's just fantastic! I realise I am very late to this discussion but wanted to pass on my congratulations to the mod creator and his team, if he has one, had one ;) brilliant stuff

It's a shame that as long as there is online gaming there is no end of arseholes looking to exploit it and make themselves feel better as a result. My best guess is they were bullied at school. Pathetic individuals who have no doubt, never had a girlfriend.
