On Expert servers you have NO 3rd person view and no crosshair. Hackers are little fucks with no balls that don't like things like that. Also Expert servers usually have smaller amounts of people playing. So no fun for hackers. Also² no crosshair and no 3DP makes everything a LOT more exciting for yourself!! It's a completely different gameplay feel when sneaking through a town in 1st Person mode! Try it! You'll love it!

ran around in elektro, on a server with 4 other people on. Got chased by sombies, decided to head up the big hill NE, and finally killed the last zombie that still chased me up there. then I heard gun shots from the city. I walked like 5 meters to get a look through the trees down to the city and see who is shooting. Zombies ran to the firestation, so I pulled out my binoculars and found some guy crawling in the tower. Suddenly, while I was still looking through my binoculars and watching him, right when he was in the center of my view, I heard really loud gunshots and saw this guy dieing. The shots where so loud that I thought that somehow I shot him, although I knew that technically it's impossible. So I downed my binoculars and heard one more shot, and then I saw him: 2 metres next to me, lying on the ground next to the tree next to me. A sniper!!! (No ghillie) What??!!! How come he didn't hear or see me???? I just shot a zombie a few seconds ago only a couple of steps away!! Anyway, no time for long thinking. I'm checking my AKM, and then I give it to him. This Basterd is sniping poor bleeding folks from a far, I'm rapin his butty. Fair. Too bad that his body disappeared into the ground right after his death. What's your rare chance story?

The problem is not realism. The problem is that people like OP are conditioned by a gaming industry that is led by analysts. You don't need no game design rules. You don't even need any attempt to make anything "fun". This "game" is not made to be fun It is made to have an experience. And this is what is fascinating all of us. So yes for broken legs, yes for everything that fit'S into thinking "shit im right now really in trouble, gotta find a way to survive!!"

I am totally stealthy and crawling and shit and out of nothing, some zed from like 500 meters away starts running up on me, while the others around him dont notice me. I got this with 4 different characters on 2 different machines. I'm stealthy, patient and always try to make my way without using any weapon. Right now this renders stealth nearly useless for me, because ther is always 1 out of 10 zombs who will go aggro, although he doesnt hear or see me. anybody else?

How about tracks and trails that the player leaves behind? I think of a similar system to what most deer hunter type games use. Maybe this could also go along with skills if they ever are introduced in the future: "Hunter Skill": the better this skill, the better you can see tracks and trails.

oh shit green mountain...... you know, even in a videogame...there can be things....that shouldn't be.... Also in that "I found a radio" thread.... the trail led to green mountain.... Just don't go there. Have fun playing DayZ with the whole rest of the map. It's big enough. Just forget it that it is there.

zombies spawn in towns or near buildings only. Stay the fuck away from any of these if you are UNABLE TO SNEAK. If you run around making noises WHAT THE F DO YOU EXPECT???
