  1. A bit back me and a few of my friends were playing in Berezino/NE airfield area. We loaded up on hundreds of rounds each and decided to go zombie killing. We each killed between 200-300 zombies and we only moved once and that was only because we didn't want to stay out in the open. Zombies would literally never stop coming if we didn't just leave. That's insane.

    Harsher Death?

If this were the case there would be no reason to have a tent. There'd be no reason to go past the snatch and grab stage. Wouldn't shock me either if groups got a mule character to set up tents and then just log off and survive indefinitely.

    Ban all Bandits!

I feel you're on the right track with side chat. I for one did much better as a solo player when side chat was an option, but it does seem a bit ridiculous given the feel of the game. I'm alone stranded on an island...and I can talk to anyone. Perhaps a solution to this would be a radio tranceiver with multiple public channels. It could be a residential drop about as common as binoculars. This would allow you to communicate with other players early on at great distances without being ridiculously outside the game's reality.

Broken Bones has to go or fix your coding

I packed a tent with med supplies and logged out. Next day I couldn't get on the server with my tent due to bugs. Decided to head into town on a different server. I ran into a zombie and shot him a few times with my PDW. He then slid through half the wall and hit me once breaking my bone. I lost my morphine to a bug and then broke my bone to another bug. Fun is.
  5. I've been playing DayZ for just over a month now and it's been a bit bumpy, but I've always been able to play. As of the latest patch this is no longer true. I get to 45% in the verification and then I get a pop-up with this message: Unhandled exception during Update Data error (cyclic redundancy check) Then after about a minute windows tells me that Arma 2 has stopped working. I've tried several different servers and I even uninstalled and reinstalled the latest 6 updater. I can still load Arma 2 just not DayZ. Nothing seems to work. Help with this would be much appreciated.
  6. Update: Turns out my hard drive was starting to fail and wouldn't recognize the updates. I got a new hard drive and everything is good. I'd also like to mention that when I launched DayZ on my new hard drive the game auto killed me. I was last logged out in the middle of nowhere and the chances of anyone having spotted me loading up are about a million to one. I didn't even get past where it shows you where you are and what day it is.

Matches & knives are too rare.

Check grocery stores. They almost always have knives or matches and often have alice packs and guns. Grocery stores are where it's at.

Arma II lags at main menu

Turn off the 6 launcher once you've loaded the game.
  9. If you're not going to help, please don't post. Obviously I know enough to check the websites and have done this already.

That gun you really wanted? You found it? Well its gone!

sometimes if you immediately remove items to make space for the weapon it will appear. You must do this before you close your gear though.
  11. americanman1243@yahoo.com

Lost all items because I wore a ghillie suit.

This happened to me as well while I was on the top florr of an apt. building. Lost a winchester w/ over 75 shells and an m1911 with 6 clips plus a water bottle, blood bag, morphine, epipen, and bandages.

Zombies should have more random Loot

Just like there are military zombies that carry military clips there can be "doctor" zombies in lab coats that randomly carry medical supplies or "police" zombies that carry sidearms and/or clips. Zombies could be outfitted in different clothes and carry different items dependant on what their previous profession was.

Getting the Basic Gear is too easy

I died 4 times the first night I played and that was when you got a makarov to start off. Now you get nothing and zombies are more difficult to avoid. I now have a character on Day 12 with an m16/m203 an m1911 and an alice pack. I got better at the game and therefore the game got easier to me, but it is still harder than it was. One thing that's interesting to note though is the average life expectancy has risen to 46 minutes. It was 31 when I first started playing this game. However I'd say that's due to there being more experienced players currently tipping the scale forward. While it is true that hatchets and crowbars spawn pretty frequently and in large numbers it's still very difficult to find anything better than a winchester. It kind of has to be this way too. Running around without a way to defend yourself for longer than an hour can get tiresome and make the game dull. Also take into account the threat of already armed players. It would be more rewarding when you found something, but it would not make the game more fun. If you want an added challenge, don't gear up on the coast. Head straight to the military sights and take your chances.

need the ability to give yourself a blood transfusion

No. Hunt animals or make friends. The system is fine.

    I get mugged!

"Plus I duped for the M24" You say in the video. Fuck you. Get off the game.

Zombies spawning too fast and too close

Actually, this is pretty true. Today me and two of my friends decided to unload our mass quantity of ammo. We totaled 200+ zombie kills without ever moving from one spot inside a building. The loudest gun we had was an 180m range audibility. Zombies poured in at a nonstop rate. It was fun, but in all honesty that's a bit ridiculous for a single area.

    Make boats useful

You really want to use a boat as storage? You can't exactly hide a boat. You'll get robbed on the first day.

The most common exploit in the game

It's easier to just run through buildings. Eventually they will all lose you. I did this in Cherno today for great success.

    Remove Hiding Bodies...

I agree with the op. While it's a valid tactic to destroy enemy equipment it's not the kind of process that takes 30 seconds of clicking on a body. If you want to use your scorched earth technique you should have to do it in a real way like blowing it up with a grenade or running it over with a weapon. Hiding bodies should be done away with.

You could just buy a map of Chernarus from BI... $15
  22. Let me preface this by saying: if you're on the coast killing people for sport you're not skilled as you think and you're breaking the game. You're the bane of this mod, and honestly, you're kinda stupid. You, coast griefer, are a loser. You're life is so broken you have nothing better to do than to ruin other's fun as easily and quickly as possible. That being said... If you hang in the north, rebuild vehicles, set up camps, kill zombies, and guard high end loot spawns killing anyone "stealing your" item drops you might just be a real bandit with some actual chops to show. - The person with the most zombie kills and the longest life while living in the north is the most skilled. Hands down. If you have any real talent you leave the coast for good save for that occasional hospital visit. Fact is, there aren't enough real bandits out there. This is why I propose a time wait of one hour on pvp for all newly spawned players. Quite simply what that means is all newly spawned players would have to wait one hour before they could shoot, or be shot by another player. This could be marked in some way to show others who's new and who's not. The benefits of this feature would go both ways. For survivors: The elimination of coast griefing as a thing. Gives the chance for new players to learn the actual game. For bandits: This actually would benefit you the most. Now when you kill someone it will actually count for something. Survivors heading north will be armed, which means you could actually boast skill for those murder counts, and they'll probably have something you need (food, water, ammo, gear). Best of all, they won't be able to return quickly to exact revenge which means you're safer to loot their bodies and change positions. I'd like to note: I do not need this. This is not a suggestion to help me out. If I'm ever killed on the coast I simply respawn until I'm close, find the nearest axe, and slice the motherfucker down. Then I simply switch servers so he can't do the same (because fuck you). However, had I not started playing DayZ until after this recent patch I'd probably have quit after 3 days instead of getting 7 friends to join the game also. Imagine what that means to Bohemia Interactive: $30 to play and I quit after a few days of frustration and either speak negatively of it, or not at all. vs. $30 to play and I love it, recommending it highly equaling $210 more in sales plus long term support plus we will all likely move to Arma 3 if the mod takes off well enough equaling even more sales. Not to mention the discussion of paying for severs...I got a map...it goes on. See the difference? And I know this applies to many others as well. Coast griefers should get bans based on this fact alone. They're sucking the soul right out of this project. ----- ALSO, Zombies need to be harder. Way, way, way, way, harder. Hits should deal 200-450 damage instead of the puny 80-100 they're doing now. Bleeding should start being possible under 9000 blood, broken bones under 4500. I'd also like to see more of them in random areas and the main cities (the ones with hospitals and/or military drops). Perhaps lower their vision, the increased number will balance this. People should sometimes have to regret taking that shot. Melee should take a front seat. (Bayonets? Duct tape + Rifle + Hunting Knife?) And can we please have the ability to struggle and throw back zombies off of us or push them out of the way? Maybe throw a few punches? I feel if all these were implemented together they would offer much balance to the game... I hope others do as well.
  23. americanman1243@yahoo.com

Ridding the coast of griefers with benefits to bandits... Also, Zombies.

Clearly you must be one of the losers I was speaking of... Stop acting like your idea of fun is somehow superior and anything to suggest otherwise is instantly bad. People call it GRIEFing for a reason. Your a bully on the beach kicking sandcastles.
  24. I can carry 6 - 5round cz 550 clips OR I can carry a helicopter main rotor. This makes no sense.
