    Blue Tents?

    Car-size Silver Tent. Really!? Who thought this was a good idea? The small triangle camouflage pattern tent in the ArmA 2 DayZ mod was difficult to hide. A pretty good place to hide the small triangle tent was in the thick dark green fur trees. Alas! There were problems with trying to hide your light green camo tent to protect your prized loot: - Light green color of the tent - Reflective water effect appearance of the tent surface under certain conditions - Disappearance of the thick foliage at distance allowing the tent to be visible - After emplacement, the tent would loose all functionality due to being embedded in parts of the tree - The site placement of the tent would magically place the tent in a totally different location The solution: - Smaller - Earth-tone tent that will blend-in with likely hiding locations - More places to hide tents. Tight gatherings of big thickly vegetated trees. More undergrowth e.g. bushes. - Ensure the water-effect seen in ArmA 2 DayZ mod on the hogs and camo tents does not transfer over to the DayZ Standalone - Ensure the more distant viewing distance continue to conceal hidden tents - Learn from other development teams ... Epoch - modular building allows close proximity in vicinity of and embedding in structures with functionality maintained ... Origins - As part of the emplacement/construction process, a shadow of the item was manipulated/moved prior to emplacement. "Green" shadow was an authorized position and "Red" was unauthorized ... Epoch - Two dome tents (dark green & desert) Why wasn't the first course of action the two car-size bright hunter orange tent not selected over the slightly smaller, slightly less easily detected current Standalone tent??

    DayZ Development is moving at a snail's pace. Who thought it was a good idea to divert DayZ Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other DayZ resources to a new gaming platform? The project of going "Standalone is starting to look more and more like a money grab. In what year, do you think we will have a functional and full DayZ experience on the abandoned PC platform?

    DayZ Bounty Hunters

    We initiated the conflict by firing the first shots. And yes, an earlier incident involved a lightly armed combatant, Bambi, barricaded in the Air Traffic Control tower falling victim to =SWF=Lambourne's BLOOD LUST. We hunted our prey and sought to relieve him of his riches. The survivor I speak of is Raamses. Do not be fooled by his good humanity (+5,385) for he laid upon the Spartan rock to determine his value. As he lay, the cold blanket of death took him. He was determined to be unworthty. The =SWF= Spartan War Fighters clan does hereby offer a reward of one DayZ Epoch briefcase full of GOLD for the second passing of the one called Raamses. To claim your reward, you must show proof of your deed. This is no simple task. You will need to "check the body" to get his screen name to appear, take a screen capture, upload the image to a linkable site, and post the image in the PCGN thread (link below). If all is in order, one briefcase of GOLD will be transferred to the able assassin. The story of the hunt that occurred last night ended with =SWF= clan and friends flying away with Raamses's Osprey.   12. Can you survive the test? PCGN offers a hack-free environment when it is whitelisted. When the whitelisted curtain is dropped, the administrators do a great job of combating the hackers. If you are tired of the hackers and what good clean fun, go to the PCGN server.

The phases of DayZ as seen by the eyes of sfscriv: (the bottom of the list is the starting point) Hunt humans as a team Little to gain with lots to loose as an individual Tents established and stocked Multiple vehicles stocked Have all wanted items Map fully explored User Interface / Controls understood Zombies are a nuisance ------------------------------ Harvesting high value sites as a team Harvesting high value sites as an individual Tent with some basics A vehicle to move around the map and pick up other team mates Have most wanted items Some areas of the map still need to be visited Still some User Interface / Controls yet to be incorporated into gameplay Zombies are easily avoided ------------------------------ Trying to get team consolidated Looting most sites as an individual Need to find a Tent and a good place to hide it Need to get the repair parts to get a vehicle operational Have the basic survival items Big areas of the map still need to be explored Need to learn some basic User Interface / Controls Zombies are still problematic ------------------------------ No team yet; maybe matched up with a buddy Looting all sites to get basics as an individual No Tent Find a vehicle Need better basic items Most of the map unknown Need to learn to use the basic User Interface / Controls Zombies will batter you badly from time to time; still hard to break contact ------------------------------- No team; no buddy Looting to survive another 10 minutes as an individual No Tent; would be great to find someone else's tent Not worried about acquiring a vehicle Need basic items Very little of the map is known Do not yet know the basic User Interface / Controls Zombies are scary and deadly In the beginning, the thirst for knowledge is great and the environment is very hostile

  16. Who: PCGN & Invaders What: Objective #1 - Stary Sobor In order to capture Stary Sobor, your team’s Ural or V3S will need to arrive safely to the helipad at the medical tents. Objective #2 - Gorka In order to capture Gorka, you must have 10 soldiers for your team standing safely in front of the church. In order to win the WAR, your team must capture at least one Objective first and then seize the other team's castle. Where: PCGN will defend Devil's Castle Invaders will defend Rog Castle When: Friday, 14 DEC 2012 at 2000 hrs Eastern Time (8 p.m.) Why: For control of Chernarus How: PCGN and the Invaders will move swiftly to capture key terrain. Some portion of your team must defend your team’s castle. Your team MUST first occupy one of the Objectives before beginning the capture of the other team’s castle. If you lose control of the Objective you were occupying, you may not continue the assault on the other team’s castle. The criteria to WIN is when all human opposition have been eliminated from the other team’s castle. General Instructions: PCGN will start with a Ural stocked full of supplies. Invaders will start with a V3S stocked full of supplies. Each castle base will come preloaded with the following: - 1 x Ural or V3S (as outlined above) - 1 x Huey UH-1H - 1 x Off Road (Landrover) - 1 x UAZ - 1 x Quad - 1 x Motorcycle In addition to the described vehicles above spawning at each team’s castle, the normal vehicle spawn locations will be populated with the standard vehicles. You may steal, blow up, hide, or any other possible interaction in-game with the opposing team's vehicles.

    Should've, Would've, Could've Don't over-inflate your recent luck, Kyreaper. I was picking up loot before your "annoucement" explosion in vicinity of the firehouse. Apparently, I took a couple too many hits from the zombies picking up loot. I detected you, tracked you, got in behind you, got in position for the slam dunk put the bird in the bag... Aimed.... My first person aim was shaking all over from the previous zombie encounter... Went for the pain relief to fix the shake... that is when you engaged. Very lucky for you, Kyreaper. There was a 19 in 20 chance you were to expire at my hands. Lesson Learned --- Pre-Combat Checks --- Lightening will not stike in the same place twice.
