Quick Question about be able to run it

I wouldn't count on it running very smooth if at all. The i3 is probably going to struggle as this game is really processor taxing, 4gigs of ram is probably okay depending on the the specs but I would suggest 8. However I highly doubt the onboard Intel HD gfx will be sufficient to run ARMA. There are some high end gaming machines that struggle with this game due to the engine being.......special. I think there is a demo on steam you might try before commiting to buying just to be sure. I wouldn't get your hopes up though man, sorry.

    Bike *_*

No, vehicles are server specific. So any vehicle you find on a server will only exist on that server. They don't transfer like your Character.

Poisonman's Crazy Idea / Wishlist Thread

I want to say the sling option for your primary exists in the ACE set of mods so maybe that wouldn't be super tough to implement since any stream lining of the inventory system would be welcome. I think it is set up in ACE that you can sling your main and grab a second rifle but you don't take any ammo, only what is in the weapon already and I think you drop the extra weapon when you switch back to your primary instead of being able to switch back and forth. Can't remember 100% and I'm at work so I can't check. There are alot of things about the ACE mod that would be a welcome addition to DayZ but I don't know how much outside work Rocket is willing to use or if he even wants any of the features.

    Found attack chopper at NW

Please don't take this as me being a dick but I've noticed quite a few people don't know that it's actually "for all intents and purposes".

    Huey Spawn Question

If that is the case' date=' people will just start parking the choppers in places that are impossible to access without another chopper, that are still on the map. IE the top of International hotel in Cherno. [/quote'] That's cool, I can still shoot the crap out of it and ruin their day when they log in and are now stuck on a roof with a disabled chopper.

    The Ultimate Zombie Apocalypse Weapon

I said there was a chance, and there is. I speak mainly of it being an terrible choice for killing anything other then small game.

    The Ultimate Zombie Apocalypse Weapon

I don't know if you know this but .22 is NOT the best round for scrambling brains. In fact, if you're not pretty close there is a decent chance it may not even penetrate a skull. .22 is good for killing rabbits, not people.
  8. I would hope that more people have a zombie plan in place, If not, I am very disappointed. To stress the seriousness, even the Center for Disease Control has a basic guide: http://blogs.cdc.gov/publichealthmatters/2011/05/preparedness-101-zombie-apocalypse/ But go ahead and don't take it seriously, just more beans for me.

    Barbed Wire Getting Annoying

I don't think that's too bad, as it's not like 4 strands deep or anything. I could justify this as fortifying a temporary base of operations or something. Zombies glitch through the stuff, true, but it does still slow them down at times. Plus protecting your self from other players is valid. I'm not saying the stuff isn't abused but I wouldn't call this a good example.
  10. Probably 7 If you don't fall into my immediate group of core family or friends then I couldn't give two shits about what happens to you. This includes fucking you over to help out me and my own. Cause at the end of the day, I will play "the ends justify the means" card. In extreme situations, survival is the ultimate goal. You could judge my methods all you want but it doesn't mean fuckall if I'm alive and you're fertilizer. I wouldn't feel the least bit bad about it because the average american does this to others as it is right now, just not to the extreme. I wouldn't just murder people for the fun of it, I'm not a psycho but I sure as shit wouldn't put my family at risk for yours.
  11. That's the thing, there is alot of complaining about the PKing but the thing is, there is a huge fun factor to it. DayZ is in an Alpha state so its no where near finished but the ARMA combat mechanics are still there in full and if you ask me, they are fucking fun. So of course there are some people that look for that. That's why I tell anyone who just got the game for DayZ and never got to experience the normal game with a decent group is really missing out. Even jumping in to a public Domination server is a fucking blast if you have some decent folk. Note: Don't turn this into a arguement about why people are killing, blah blah, ruining my game, blah blah. Because I don't care to be honest. Im just pointing out that the core combat mechanics are fun.

    Starting location: The bean coast

I'll throw my hat in on this idea, could be interesting. It would go a ways toward de-segregating the island since as it stands now it tends to be noobs to the south and the hardcore up to the north. Yes I know it's not entirely like that but there are a lot of new players I've noticed that hang in the south, not because of lack of need to move north but because they are intimidated by the distance and perceived "elite" danger that tends to frequent the north. Granted right now it would likely just be abused by people respawning to get closer to what they want but once properly implemented along with exploit fixes and what not that I'm sure will appear down the road it could be a really solid idea.

    Cheap Gaming Computer

I don't know how willing you are to learn the process, but everyone is right. Building your own is cheaper and far more rewarding. Plus if you really want to enjoy PC gaming, a bit of more advanced knowledge goes a long ways. Hell if you want I would be willing to help you out, PM me if you're interested.

    Rampant Hacking

I 100% agree, the thing i dont think many realize is that under normal circumstances an alpha build would be closed. All the core elements focused on and maybe implemented. On to beta builds, etc etc. Generally by time you would open to public the majority of features are in and common bugs fixed or atleast being worked on. So when the test goes public and the hackers show the bulk of your workforce can focus on that problem. Now we have more and more open alpha/beta games/mods and all of a sudden an small unpaid staff with limited time have to focus on everything all at once.

    Rampant Hacking

Im not going to say the hacking isnt a problem but there are constantly new threads being made about the same thing. It's not as if the devs aren't aware. Dont get me wrong, this thread for example says share your stories. Thats cool. I just mention this because there seems to be alot of complaining to fix it NOW. I hate the excuse but this IS an alpha, which means youre playing a test more than a game. While true for you to get a good test environment things need fixed here and there. I just hate to see people getting upset at the devs for not rushing to fix something that in the grand scheme of things at this point in development, may not be high on the priority list. Not to mention the fact that the devs are doing this in their freetime. Im not calling anyone out, just asking that everyone take a second to think about the situation before flooding the forums with the same things everyday. Note: forgive any grammar issues as i typed this on my phone.

Suggestion for cutting down on bandits

THANK YOU. Honestly the scariest people in this type of situation would be the ones who fell the farthest. Thats what would make this type of scenerio scary as fuck to live through. And I hope you're refering to his reply to me' date=' because I in no way insinuated that people with a crappy upbringing or from certain parts of the world are automatically murderers or scum. I speak of reactionary behaviour, not learned. The locations I listed are just some that I either have personal experience with or solid knowledge of, places that can offer an interesting look into what happens in SHTF/Survival situations. [hr'] I see numerous posts like this in every thread. Did you READ the suggestion? Is there a lot of server disconnecting to get rid of zombies in real life? And generally this whole idea is hilarious. You think people are dicks in DayZ because shit the fan and everyone is fighting to survive? Everyone could have infinite beans and mountain and a giant mansion and there could be no zombies and ... it would be exactly the same. Because it's a shooter and people play shooters to shoot people. To be completely honest, like I said I don't give a shit about the OP, Im using this as a way to have a conversation as I sit bored at work. Is it right? No, maybe not but I'm not here to stir up a fire or blindly argue. Im just here to have an intelligent discussion back and forth. Sorry I know the internet is much too silly a place for that sort of thing :P

Suggestion for cutting down on bandits

There is a huge difference too being brought up rough and a sudden bad scenario happening. If you were brought up too be a murderer you'll be a murderer..or heck you'll care much less about it and similarly if you were brought up in a zombie infested world then yeah, maybe you'd be a little more heartless. People in these sort of zones and stuff, yeah they are brought up to be like that or they are brought up in a zone like that. And ultimately some people will just be like that anyway, there are bad people in the world but the truly bad people are much fewer than the rest of us. Yes, some of it would happen but it wouldn't be like the hunger games where everyone is forced too upon their life too kill each other. The majority of people would certainly not kill each other over things. I don't care how you see life I've just simply been brought up better than that and I don't see the world in such a cruel light. Maybe if we were in the Middle East or Africa when zombies hit then yeah, I'd see that and people would. Things can get crazy no ones disagreeing with that but compared too this game for example, 90% of people are hostile and shoot on sight...come on, in real life you wouldn't just pull out a gun and shoot someone just too check what he could potentially have, especially with the risk of detection by zombies by firing a bullet....In real life bullets would be more valuable than killing a man for a can of beans. I like to think that since we're communicating over the internet on a computer, the vast majority of us are in lawful area's of the world. You are correct in some regards, but only flaw in your thinking is that you assume that some massive crazy event would leave you the same person you are now. Fear, true constant fear of death will make you do things that will suprise even your self. That's why this game is an interesting social experiment. Yes there are asshole griefers but they are not the majority by any means. When you take people and put them in a situation where death suddenly means something, even though it's a game, on some levels it gives an interesting insight into human instinctual behaviour. Does the fact that you're not REALLY killing someone matter? Yes of course but Fight or Flight is built into us and comes out in all manner of situations, not just true life or death and I'm willing to bet the majority of PKing/PvPing/Whatever you want to call it has more to do with protecting THEIR stuff/selves then it does with taking yours. The loot is just a bonus.
