If you double tap W you will sprint faster than normal W forward.

You could switch to flashlight before Alt + Tab. Can't shot someone with that. :)

I as a new player. Watched a lot of youtube videos before I got Arma 2 :CO and DayZ. I even roam the map, which DayZ map is based off, in Arma 2:OA. To get my barings etc.

I just turned off the double-tap feature in the controls config to stop this from happening.

As far as player tents. I think they should despawn on the players death. No idea how vehicles work in DayZ, in terms of ownership.

Regular Vs Veteran Vs Expert Differences?

From what i can tell. Regular has 3rd person allowed and crosshairs. While Veteran doesn't. No idea about Expert. -
Any single spawn spot/area is a bad idea. This just leads to spawn camping.

I see a few new players have some troubles with knowing which buildings can be entered and where places are in the world. I have found that playing armory mode in Arma II: Operation Arrow head with objectives disabled a big help. I load up Chernarus map. I scout around it to get a feel for my barings and locations. It has the advantages of no players to worry about. You get to find out which places have buildings you can enter. Where water sources are to refill water bottles. It won't have the DayZ loot spawns in it. Least you'll get a better feel for things without the online presure. Just thought I would share this. Incase it helps others.

Use the mouse scroll wheel. F just switches fire modes of the item being used.

From a youtube video I saw. It's more near the middle to north side of town. You have to smash the glass to enter it. Least thats what the players did on the video.

As of the current version 1.7.5. If you crawl forward, you make 1 bar sound. Yet if you crawl forward and hold left or right, you make no sound bars. -
Just thought I'd menation that I spawned yesterday on an island off shore. Had no choice but to swim to shore. So my new char lost backpack. So though the current penalty sounds fine in normal play. It is rather punishing when the game mechanics doesn't give you the option to avoid it.

Surely you would have to make it. So that ownership was tied to just that 1 server. What would happen about loot spawns that happen in certain buildings? What would happen about ownership on death? Whats to stop server admins taking the best buildings for them or clans?

I was wondering if it's normal for infected to spawn right on top of you. I was at some lone building near a road. The only infected that was around was a knuckle drager. So I waited till he moved some distance from the area. Then I crawled to the open door. Yet before I got near it 2 infected spawned right on top of me and killed me. They hadn't been in the building. They just appeared out of thin air. That was on my 2nd spawn in this mod.

Yep. Been reading through the last few patch updates. Most seemed to talk about infected spawns. Guess I was just unlucky.
