I think he said that the NVGs are standart infantry equipment, not the thermals. Anyway, on topic - i'd rather have helicopters removed, not the L85s or NVGs, since every server has 3-4 helis now, that's bullshit. There's no point ir camps anymore, they just all get raided in a day or two.

Some people are saying L85 + M4A1 CCO SD..really? The M4 has like a 200 meter effective range and it's only good for shooting zombies, while the L85 has terrible accuracy, and it's such a shitty weapon when it comes to shooting at all. You'll have a disadvantage 95% of the time with that loadout if a target is 400+ or even 300 meters from you. Anyway, my ideal loadout would be an AS50 + MK48 if you have rangefinders, or replace the MK48 with an L85 for scanning if you play with a bud :P If you don't have rangefinders, then probably a DMR paired with an MK.

A sniper rifle or an assault rifle? If a sniper, take them out, nobody is friendly in Stary at least on my server. Well, otherwise just use the M14 to take them out, just make sure you can take them out almost at the same time.

DayZ/ArmA is poorly optimized, so if you want to buy a new rig just for DayZ, might aswell just wait for the standalone, it should be optimized better.
