I'm encountering hackers on low pop servers now too. I was in a room with 4 other people at 9 AM EST. I found some random player east of elecktro and he led me to a weapon crate he found on the beach. We were then promptly teleported into the sky and fell to our deaths past sheep with parachutes. Then tonight I was on a server with around 18 people after fleeing from an invisible hacker on another server that kept following me around and shooting me. I found a flaming skyscraper just east of kamenka surrounded by buses and corpses. I got in a bus with my friends and happily drove it around until it blew up 10 minutes later. We respawned and discovered Elecktro and Balota were both completely on fire. It was kind of amusing at first but the hacking is so out of control that when I join a random server it's more likely that I run into a hacker than not.

If you found them together they might have been hacked in. A "friendly" hacker once spawned a camp of vehicles around my group and told us to take what we wanted. We took a huey, a ural, and a UAZ up north and hid them. Saved them each 5 times. They despawned after the server restarted. I looked it up and apparently hacked in vehicles despawn after restarts.

A hacker gave me a dog once.

So many people fail at reading comprehension. He said instead of killing noobs he's trying to build a camp. Anyways, I think sometimes your tents just bug out and lose all your stuff. I save each of mine like 4 times to try to ensure that they save, it seems to work well. As for hiding them in places: Pick somewhere that's surrounded by dense trees and not near anything of interest. I haven't had anyone raid my camp to my knowledge since I set it up.

My friend tried to switch out his ghille suit with civilian clothing so he could give me the ghille suit. It teleported him into the ocean.

Is there a permanent way to completely destroy a tent or do I have to wait out the ~7 days? My buddy and I accidentally duped one by moving it to a more hidden location. The original one popped back up after a server restart and keeps doing so despite our efforts to remove it.

Why couldn't the guy that found my bus do this? :(

Are you sure it was a handgun? Maybe he was hiding behind you with a semi-automatic rifle. Those are louder and he'd be farther away than you'd expect.

Awesome, this gives me hope. I happened to be on the server looking at my tents when it restarted though and it seemed like one of them already lost all its contents (M16A2, AK Kobra, G17, maps, dozens of mags, soda cans, and food). The other one was only missing an AK Kobra and a Makarov. Maybe I'll get really lucky and everything will spawn back. Now if I could only figure out a way to contact the admin of this server...

Ugh, I just had this happen to me with my two tents. Now I actually have to be scared of dying again until I find and set up more tents and raid the barracks.

I play DayZ on an early 2008 MBP with a crappy Nvidia 8600 gtm. It runs fine on low settings. I don't even experience the new artifact bug that my friends on higher end rigs do near the dead military zombies. Bootcamp runs windows as well as any PC does. Make sure you partition out enough hard drive space for it if you're gonna want to play more games because you have to remake the whole thing if you want more space.

This happened to me twice within the span of 15 minutes today. Lost my main and secondary inventory both times but kept my weapons, tools, and backpack. I noticed the first time it happened was after I picked up a Makarov. The second time was after I picked up a watch.
