For ages the rich, ambitious and powerful have always wanted more time, longer lives, to better fulfill their goals and squander their riches. Greed has always fueled their longing for more time, longer lives. In 2024 a super-company called Transgenics develops a drug that actually reverses aging and provides people a longer and healthier life. They called this drug LONGEVITY. It quickly passes all drug trials and approvals and is rushed to the public market. At first it was only affordable by the ultra-rich of the world but was soon in almost every household. By 2025 the side effects of the poorly tested Longevity were soon known. People who had taken the drug began to become hostile and aggressive and their behavior severely altered. They became addicted to the drug and needed more and more. By the end of the year these people would all succumb to the effects of the drug becoming feral with little reasoning capabilities, functioning only on their most basic instincts and the need to feed. By 2026 the world had fallen. The victims of Longevity soon took over the planet. It spread too fast for containment or evacuations to take place. The infliction acted like some terrifying version of a super-rabies. Their was no cure. In 2027 Russian military forces begin their attempted annex of Canada, starting with the arctic. They set up some bases and began operations on some islands in northern Nunavut using the world's collapse to attempt this. They too fell. The Red Cross set up some refugee areas in the most remote parts of the world but Longevity still found them. These areas were much better off than the rest of the world but safer in the long-run. These areas would prove to be the safest places in the world for people to survive and to thrive. Or would they? The date is now 2030, five years since Longevity took the world. This is your story... And it begins in the northernmost part of Nunavut, Canada in the Arctic Ocean.
