No - the reason being most servers are 40-50 players only, and its already hard enough to find someone to give you a blood transfusion. Add in blood types and no one will bother to waste space in their backpack with an item that will have such a low chance of being utilized.

No. First this kinda stuff is not what this game is about. It's about survival, not balancing teams/players/whatever. Survival can be very unfair. Second you never know who killed you with what. How do you know were sniped with a scoped weapon? For starters I rarely see them in the game anymore. You could have just as well been shot in the head with a pistol by someone who snuck up on you, or "sniped" from the building across the road with an AKM, or shot from the hill with a lee enfield, none of which have a scope.

No to all 4. I like my game consequences based on my decisions, not on my stats.

I don't want mortars anymore than I want diseases or poo..... But other crew weapons? why not? Your still going to have to know where someone is to get them with a Heavy MG. And if the sounds are correct, as soon as someone uses one, the rest of us are going to know where they are. Things that can only be used by more than one player and give an advantage might inspire grouping. Things like blood packs that require one player to give to another that help injured players mostly haven't resulted in grouping, and things like diseases likely won't.

I prefer just one character. Also I'd like to see your game name permanently tied to your CD-key, so as to be able to recognize players.

DayZ Standalone: Military guns and how they can balanced and fixed-modified
psylnz replied to logan23's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
If weapon's degradation and jamming are going to be realistic, then the amount they will weigh into gameplay is going to be so minimal, it won't be worth the bandwidth the server uses to track it. -
Sweet ! Can't wait to get one !!!

If flying choppers in DayZ is like flying choppers in ArmA2, you almost need a chopper license to be able to pull it off, lol. I wonder how many DayZ players with no ArmA experience did all the hard work of finding and rebuilding a chopper only to crash it in their first attempt at take off?

No Way !!!!! Don't be so lazy and hide your tent better. There's a whole ton of map where no one ever goes. Keep your best stuff on your person.

Do private hive admins have to follow the rules?
psylnz replied to timnswede's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
But if I quote from the server hosting rules thread: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/62195-server-hosting-rules-updated-3009/ "14. PVP is enabled at all times no matter the rpg element the admin tries to set. 15. Do NOT request un-necessary instance IDs, location IDs, or whitelisting from us. If you abuse the system all of your servers may be blacklisted. 16. Private Hives are allowed however we may not be able to help with problems relating to them, any issues you have with these servers should be reported to the server owner. NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS OR WHAT SERVICE PROVIDER YOUR WITH THESE ARE THE RULES PLEASE ABIDE BY THEM." So are private hives exempt from these rules or not? -
I'm for the Gamma thing if they can pull it off. But wouldn't someone just be able to change their settings in windows, or their monitor settings to overcome this? I mean it may be something we can't change. I'm kinda against locking view distance. After a point, models get so small and your chance of hitting anything even if you can see it is so minute that extreme long distance viewing doesn't offer any benefit anyway. If you lock it too short, people with decent graphics cards get punished with crappier graphics. If you lock it longer, people with average or below graphics cards get punished with lower framerates.

Absolutely Not! In a world full of games that set narrow rules and parameters, DayZ is a breath of fresh air. I've never played, nor even heard of a game that gives you as much freedom to play the way you want. M3D1C you just need to play more carefully, and judge your risk taking a little better. Put some thought into how you play and it's quite easy to avoid getting killed by other players. And if you want to team up with people, look in the clan's section of the forums.

I'd much rather see this than defecation and disease. Being able to be saved form an otherwise fatal wound through surgery from a pal gives players a GREAT reason to group up and cooperate.

Discussion of the standalone defecation\poo feature
psylnz replied to Dancing.Russian.Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's not always best to do the things that everyone else tells you won't work. I'm hoping he reconsiders the poo/disease thing. If not, we will have to see how it works. -
Simple suggestions to the stand-alone to reduce PVP.
psylnz replied to ianramos's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I play DayZ cause I want to explore a large open world, where I scavenge, rebuild vehicles, accumulate stashes, loot, take to defense or offense with guns that work closer to how real world guns work than most games, fight zombies and fight and loot other players. I'm here cause DayZ delivers on these things. If you want a more PVE only experience, the question is why are you playing DayZ? -
New weapons for Dayz Standalone? :p
psylnz replied to jaytmuk (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I wanna see a Czech VZ 58 rifle, and a CZ 85 combat pistol (a CZ 75 would suffice). I think it would be sweet to be playing in a Zombie apocalypse with two guns is use in the real world. And it should be no problem considering the recently released Czech Army DLC for Arma2. -
Will Pistol damage tables be fixed in SA?
psylnz replied to Robert-_-Frost's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I thought the weapons, were just copied from Arma2 (accept melee of course), and that in Arma2, the weapons were based on stats of their real world counterparts - ie the gun you have in DayZ will be about as accurate and powerful as its real life counterpart. This is what I thought we had, and what I definitely want to see. -
Should Painkillers/Antibiotics Have Use Count ?
psylnz replied to exiled's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
If they do implement several contagious diseases each with its own antibiotic, as was suggested they might, than yes, they should havbe a use count. -
Feedback on status of infectious diseases in DayZ
psylnz replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Why not go full on real. Loot drops only on a brand new server. It's not like magic loot drops appearing every so often is in any way realistic. Loot drops once in the history of the server and that's it. So when you use up the bandaids, no more. Ever. And when the last bullet is fired you can dump your rifle in the ocean, as it will never fire anything again. When the last can of beans is gone, and the last Animal slain, that's it - no more food. The winner will be the last person to starve to death, as we bludgeon each other with hatchets. As much as I wrote that sarcastically, there's a part of me thinking that's not actually a bad idea. -

What about loot piles though - I'm not talking loot from corpses, but if an infected player can spread disease to the loot in his pack, why wouldn't they be able to spread disease to a loot pile they interacted with? Is that rifle on the ground in a loot pile going to carry disease? Do I have cook canned beans now and cook pop? Is that bandaid safe to use? Am I going to get sick from touching the water, or simply if I drink it? -

Granted I don't have all the details, but from what I've read on here, I don't see how disesase is going encourage people to group up. You see someone in the forest, who doesn't have a gun or a backpack, but he might be carrying a disease, and he might infect some gear or a body of water that you'd be drinking from later on. Best to kill him now. Your in with a group of people and one starts to cough. Kill all of them - maybe the others are infected too; maybe one of them is asymptomatic. Get sick yourself, or afraid of getting sick? Best to kill everyone you see, before they kill you. After all they might have the medicines you need. But its the getting killed by something I had no chance of detecting that I really don't like. Maybe I didn't see the sniper on the next hill that got me, but if I was careful, I could have seen or avoided him, even if I'd just run off the beach from a fresh spawn. If I need to find special equipment in order to check if the canned food and water I scavenge buildings for, then that's going to be more frustration then challenge. What exactly do you have in mind with labs - what will they consist off? -
Feedback on status of infectious diseases in DayZ
psylnz replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
EXACTLY !!!!!! In a large part you are in control in DayZ. If you get killed by a zombie or sniper it's cause you were careless and alerted them. If you run off a rooftop and break a leg, it's cause you did it. If your run out of food, its because you didn't try to carry enough. If you get cold, its cause you spent too much time outside or in the water. But implement this disease stuff, and drinking from a pond that looks normal but isn't could make you sick. Hanging out with other players who weren't careful could make you sick. Hanging out with players who are asymptomatic could make you sick - perhaps repeatedly. Savenging, one of the key parts of the game, could make you sick. Perhaps you wont drop dead, but you could be running around with a weak character for days looking for rare medicines. You know how the screen shakes when you need painkillers? -
No, by annoying I mean it was just annoying. It served nothing, as it was easy enough to get the meds. I don't think it ever interrupted the game for me at crucial moments. It wasn't like the challenge of having the factions regularly attack you - that was fun - instant firefight. There is nothing fun about getting sick. Mind you I played it only a year ago, so they may have patched out its effects by then. But if it would have been difficult to meds and would have interrupted me at key moments, I would have stopped playing. I'm all for hard opponents, but a mechanism that makes me unable to react to them the way disease would - not into that.

Count me under the NO column.

Glad you reminded me of that! Weapon's degradation I like, if cleaning kits are available, so that maintenance avoids the problem. But disease in Far Cry was terribly annoying, even though it was super easy to deal with.
