This guide would have to explain how to obtain the new maps and join private servers, also ones with special requirements like new weapons and such. then could we have said guide stickied in the private hive forum?

and this is one of the things i think DayZ has done better than WarZ. WarZ has said they will have some kind of money or tokens that are traded with and NPCs. Where in DayZ civilization is truly destroyed and anyone trying to do this kind of thing is stupid and will only hurt themselves and i say let em.

i think it would be cool if like when you try to push through thick brush with a normal cotton t shirt you could get all snagged on the thorns and stuff and it would lower the durability of the shirt, and possibly give you little cuts that can get infected if blood gets on them. and you would have to find a good long sleve shirt or some nice BDU's even.

true but rocket said he wanted authenticity. i think this would add a measure of that authenticity. he wanted the game to become more human. that was the idea behind removing UI and forcing the player to use other ques to figure out what is wrong with their body in the new more complicated medial system. i think that stool would not only add some humor to a dark game but also act as a tool in gauging the players health as improper stool would be a sign of sickness. please, i'm not just being funny i did think this through.

I for one would love this. I mean think about it. IRL when you need to go you need to go. that we are already adding a bunch of sicknesses why not diarrhea? it can be a real problem in wilderness survival. Also I could sneak into peoples campsites and shit in their tents. XD would give us survival pranksters another tool. :P currently one of my favorites is hiding under bridges and popping out to quiz ppl b4 they pass. That is getting old tho, maybe if he adds crafting too we can do the old crap in a flaming bag trick. HAH!

oh candy. :P but srsly tho. on some servers if u do Ctrl+L click on the map it sets an on screen waypoint with a distance marker and everything. really good if u got a map but not a GPS. only works on some servers tho. other than that use big landmarks and just try to learn the lay of the land. i know all of cherno almost by heart now. i like to use castles for rallying like zub. watering holes are good too.

WOW ok so i have been gone for some time and decided to try dayZ mod for a bit to see what has changed before standalone comes out. and i was baffled by how much things have changed. by that i mean not the gameplay but the now accepted private servers (i was playing back when anything not public unpassworded was NOT OK and things were pretty KBG about that). so now everyone has moved to private servers and all the pubs are empty or are the last refuge of hackers. so my question is how do i actually play the game now? how does one join a private hive? how does downloading the maps work? what is whitelisting? also can someone lead me to a server with the following settings. Loc=US, Diff=Veteran, Map=Any, Slots=50, TZ=GMT anything from -5UTC to -10UTC, 3DP=off, CH=off, NP=off, DM=on/off, SC=off, PW=yes/no, WL=??? No weird game changing settings like free NVG for all and spawn with gun. no MAX cars/choppers BIKES FOR ALL, just no thanks. just some plain simple vanilla dayz on any map.

ok cool will try commander. i stuck with six because its the officially supported one. also you said "Just make sure that you check that the install directory for your Arma2 / OA / Dayz are set appropriately in the Settings" but define appropriately please. I have steam so it would be the steam folder for OA? could i get the exact file path? Thanks!
