About Blackout1050

  1. NO I don't terribly mind spawning without a gun, however spawning instead with a melee weapon makes it easier and follows all the same pro's/con's.

    Micro Stutters

Problem was solved a while ago, and yeah, i realised that just closing the launcer would fix it too.

    880m M107 kill

Would've been impressive if he wasn't just standing still. Anyone with that same gun, same situation, would've been able to hit that guy. Nevertheless, nice shot.

The Bandit in All of Us

Prevent them? DON'T SHOOT ME D= *Dies* Preventing Player Killing! I'm fine with bandits, its just this guy is one of the more lowly ones. Any decent person would just leave the Coyote Pack Flashlight Shiner beginners alone - especially if they're saluting. This one decides to line up a shot. This video seems more of a failed attempt to glorify player killing, none of those kills were in any respect skillful nor entertaining. Watching 5+ Bandits/survivors in a gunfight is much more enjoyable then watching one rogue player killing unaware survivors.

    Please explain me the game.

New players won't know whether or not the game is supposed to be night all the time - don't expect them to, they are new. Surviving in this game is difficult, you will die many times. Best chance to survive more than half an hour is to find out where you are (http://dayzdb.com/map) (Game tells you where you spawn in lower right corner) and move inland as fast as possible. Search barns for weapons (Preferabbly an axe) and avoid zombies by going prone and crawling around. Head towards a village that has a supermarket, once you get to the supermarket you'll get decent gear (If its already been looted/has useless loot - server hop) and should head to a military base or search for medical supplies. After that do whatever you want. Search the forums for guides, its easy to survive once you know how to. And it should get easier from here, zombies at the moment have super senses (Unless you crawl around for an hour to get 1km somewhere).

    Frustrating

Jeez, i don't know why people are being such assholes to you. THIS MOD IS VERY DIFFICULT, WE ALL DIED SEVERAL TIMES AND ALL GOT FRUSTRATED AT SOME POINT. Its nature to get pissed at things and rant about the things that got you pissed at. This mod certaintly won't die (at least anytime soon) due to lack of players, but people shouldn't just make fun of someone who got angry at a very difficult game. This mod is hard, but once you get the hang of it, its easy enough. Yes, the mods in Alpha, and needs to go through a lot of balancing (Right now theres just super zombies, and there really needs to be a melee weapon on spawn) so don't give up on it. And just ignore people who only want to further discourage you, there will always be people on forums who have nothing better to do with their time who will post "bye...noob" "lol scrub l2p" "don't care, gtfo" - i'll say it again, just ignore them. Now, i'm gonna prepare to be raged at. Have a good day. =D

    Australian/New Zealand Servers

Spent a couple hours playing on one of the Seattle servers. I'll probably make it a habit now, theres no lag and the ping isn't noticable. Only slightly annoying thing is shots missing a zombie even though you were aiming straight at their body, don't know if this is a ping issue or its just because the mods still developing. Getting a pretty stable 190-220 ping =D

    Funny Stories Thread

Shot a bandit in the face - the exact same moment he shot me in the face. We both died. The End Thought that only happened in battlefield.

General Advice for Noobs- Don't get frustrated!

Very nice general advice. As a new player myself, i too find the game very challenging. My biggest concern really is just other players, once you learn the ropes and manage to get some decent gear, zombies just aren't a problem anymore. Really all you need is: A: An Axe And thats it, once you have an axe (Or less preferably, a crowbar) you're pretty much set to do whatever you want. Always head inland (Coast is full of bandits) and search empty (or lightly guarded) barns/sheds for an axe and some basic supplies then make your way to any city which has a supermarket. Leg it to the supermarket, attracting zombies isn't a problem anymore because when you're inside, those zombies are just waiting to get their face hacked in. You'll get some decent supplies and gear from the supermarket, now all you really need is some medicine. I'd recommend the Medical Helicopters, they're deep inland, but have an abundance of medical supplies (Around 15 of everything you need). After that its pretty much a sandbox game of do whatever you want. You'll find a gun along the way, just keep the axe handy, you'll probably use it more than anything else.
  10. Allright, i'm currently on my longest life ever (New Player). I didn't bother to meet up with my friends (We agreed we'd solo then meet up later - easier that way). I spawned at Kamenka or Komahovo (Or something like that) and just moved inland. I stayed away from any zombies and just snuck into any barn i could find (Luckily after 2-3 barns, i got a hatchet (Axe). The Axe is probably the most usefull thing you can find early in the game. From there - you can actually deal with zombies very easily. Even in the open, zombies are still pretty easy to kill without being hit (At least too many times). I was lucky enough to find another large village, this one with a supermarket. I sprinted to the entrance and killed all the zombies who followed me in. Found loads of food, water, equipment and an M1911 with 1 Full Magazine. I still used the Axe from here, it was easier and made a lot less noise. The M1911 was just for defence against players. From there on out i was fine, the map had some places marked and i just headed there. 1 Military heli had an AKM with 1 Mag, which i later found another Mag for, and then a Medical Heli which had an abundance of every medical equipment in the game (Morphine, Epi Pens, Blood Packs, Bandages etc.). I'm currently still alive (With no ammo though, luckily found another hatchet) but every single survivor i've seen with a gun had tried shooting me. Just do your best to avoid other players, tree lines are your best friend. I've still yet to be hit by a gun, but have had around 3 magazines of various guns shoot at me. Surviving at the early stages of the game is heavily dependant on when you find an axe. After that, its easy going, just head to your nearest supermarket and you're all set. Head inland, and do your best to avoid players (Unless you have a gun and they're nearby and haven't noticed you yet - just kill them and take whatever they have you're probably better off with it anyway).
  11. If you're getting freezes ir stutters every few seconds, and you are using the Six Launcher, close the Six Launcher/Updater (Or both if you have them both running) and they shoud go away. If you want to improve FPS (Or at least it helped me), make sure that your resolution and 3D resolution are both the same (Make sure to double check, sometimes it changes itself back) and disable post processing. That gets rid of all the blurriness/haziness and improved my fps by about 10. Hope this helps! =D

    Australian/New Zealand Servers

I really want to do that but hows the hit detection with higher pings (From Aus to USA pings are generally 300-600), i don't want to have to shoot a zombie 5 times before it actually registers and get hit from a few metres away. Other than that i'm fine with playing on overseas servers.
