  1. Champloo (DayZ)

"Oh, it's night. Guess I'd better leave"

It's not that I find night time difficult to deal with. There's most often players with night time equipment using night time to their advantage. That's why I don't play on night time. There's more of a chance of getting killed due to players with night time equipment being more prevalent among servers in night time. Too much risk from players for too little reward. If I had a gang fully equipped for it, I would raid in night time. To explain further, you wouldn't go into the arctic without cold equipment, you wouldn't go into the night without night equipment. I mean, do you drive without headlights? And no, flashlights do not function as adequate night time equipment. The only thing they are is a target marker for well-geared players.
  2. Fairly experienced (2-3+ months) of DayZ looking for a group, preferably already established and of 5 or more players. I have some of my own equipment, but it's nothing to boast about. I use to run with a gang mainly as overwatch. I have navigation skills enough so to where I can navigate without instruments. I do not play on any private hives or anything of that sort, but if that is your preferred server I will migrate there. I'm a 19 year old US (EST) Male, and would prefer to not work with anyone younger than 14. My times are very open except when I have school (Tuesdays and Thursdays, which means I go to bed early Wednesday and Monday). I can dedicate a few hours every day, and my preferred playing style is very cautious, but I go all-in if there's nothing to lose. I have experience flying a chopper, should that ever come into play, and I am versatile in weapon usage. I'm overall moderate to well experienced as a player, and versed in most, if not all aspects of DayZ, as well as more advanced features. My preferred communication method is mumble or vent. My least preferred is skype, but I can communicate with all voice software. Any rendezvous that we perform I will be distrustful as a precaution, so I'd prefer to first meet on a server that is empty, then migrate over to whatever yours is. Despite all this, I am friendly. If your group follows a leadership structure I am willing to follow it, however I will leave if some negative aspect is forced on me for no overall gain to me (I won't give you my gun unless you're going to give me it back, or if you're going to give me a better gun). I am looking for something hopefully permanent. Contacts: Steam: steamcommunity.com/id/champloomusashi Skype: dillonwaynewonceler IGN: Champloo I check these forums somewhat daily, and I don't really plan on doing much in-game until I get a group. P.S. Slightly rusty from 2 or so weeks of inactivity due to IRL

  4. Why don't we just add a key for yelling instead that has a bigger radius than direct chat
  5. The current medical system is atrocious and doesn't even deserve a place in the game with how it is currently. You take enough damage anywhere? Your leg gets broke. Jump down 2 steps of stairs? Leg broke. Wanna heal a broken leg? Get magical morphine! Get hit by blunt trauma from a zombie? Congratulations, your biggest arteries are now severed! But that's ok, you can fix it with just a few bandages! Que actual suggestion First off, get rid of morphine. The idea behind it is redundant, and if the system is even developed any further it's going to be scrapped anyways cause it's completely unrealistic for it to instantly heal everything. In place of morphine we should have splints and bones should heal over time. Not real time, of course, realism has to be sacrificed when it would otherwise compromise a lot of gameplay, so let's say that it would require you to spend half an hour lying still, for broken legs at least. That leads me to my next idea in the system. Stop acting like just getting hurt breaks our legs or both of them, at that. Injuries should be context sensitive, and we should be able to break more than our legs. Breaking bones should also be a rare occasion, you shouldn't have to worry about it really unless you get shot in a limb. To clarify, we should be able to break our legs and our arms, and each limb should be able to break independantly from the other; your left arm could break but not your right. Penalties for breaking your arms would be the inability to use a primary weapon and only use a secondary, and use nothing if both were broken. Which leads to my next part in the series. We should be able to find crutches lying around in residential spawns, or at least canes. This would allow people who have broken one or both legs to be able to walk at a better speed, but still not that fast. At the very least, these should be added because they reduce the fatality of breaking a leg, because having no morphine and a broken leg is pretty much a death sentence at this point. The other part of the system that needs revamping is bleeding. Just because you get hit by any source of damage does not make your freaking artery bust open. Bleeding needs severities with the highest severity being inflicted by bullets. Different levels would bleed at different rates and would be able to clot and heal themselves. Zombies should only be able to inflict minor bleeding unless you got knocked down and they started eating you, in which case you would have severe bleeding. There would be three different levels, minor, moderate, and severe. Severe would be the rate that bleeding goes right now and would require more than just bandages; ideally something like a tourniquet and some bandages. Minor and moderate bleeding would be healed by bandages still. All of the items I suggested adding wouldn't be exclusive to hospitals, you could find them in any residential spawn, at least. So what does all this do, in effect? It reduces the fatality of breaking bones and adds a more realistic system to actually heal them. No more magical morphine that you're absolutely screwed without. You don't have to visit any major city to get medical supplies as you can find them on the road. Bleeding is also less ridiculous.

    What is a Carebear?

Carebear refers to people who want bandits punished or survivors rewarded in some ways. Indeed, there needs to be incentive for survivors but not in the way that most would go about the matter. Rather, it needs to be in the form of constructive end-game content that requires distinct cooperation between players so much so that mutual trust is absolutely necessary to avoid utter failure, rather than artificial implications against certain behavior.

Things I wish were never introduced to DayZ

Saying it's not supposed to be balanced is equivocal to suggesting that we remove PVP. If everything is just a contest of who has the best loot then the only people who ever win are the people who have massive groups and anyone else doesn't stand a chance ever. Second' date=' you honestly think you would find night-vision or thermal equipment anywhere besides an actual military base, like not just some outpost or some field barracks, an actual constructed base? You honestly think that it's realistic to expect people to have night vision goggles and thermal scoped assault rifles? The reality is that any sort of automatic weapon is extremely rare and thermal-equipped weaponry or anything of that sort is virtually never going to be in anyone's hands. This is supposed to be a zombie survival mod not some Tom Clancy special ops shooter game, guns like that have no place in the game. I'd rather see automatic weapons as the end-game drops and see more of weapons like the Lee become the more commonly used PVP weapon because the automatics would be so rare. The ghillie suit I've seen a few times as a drop, and I don't see much of a difference between getting ambushed from a hidden position and getting ambushed from a ghillie suit because you could really do either in my opinion. Though, the ghillie suit is definitely an upgrade that could be toned down a bit at least. [hr'] Because shooting everyone you see other than your friends is cooperation' date=' obviously. You could betray your entire group, take all their gear and move to a new group that has more gear and take all the gear from your friends with them. That's cooperation, I tell you what [/quote'] I geuss I must be the best player then , I play with 1-2 friends AND 1-2 only , and so far we got L825 <- Thermal scoped 3 , BAF x1 M107 X1 3-4 NVG's 6 Ghillie suits + wearing all one , You have to be smart and start getting a tent and looting airfield with EMPTY BAGS so risc is minimum So, what about your experience makes rare loot balanced? I'm not finding any real counterargument here.

The thing with the broken legs

The broken leg system is completely idiotic. Wanna know what really happens that causes me to break my leg most of the time? Taking a 2 foot drop off stairs accidentally. Glitching into scenery. Opening doors. Vaulting over barbed wire. Going prone behind the gas station counter. Being at full HP and randomly getting my leg broke on the first hit by a zombie. This is what gives me a broken leg. You know, if you really want people to not just fucking shoot themselves when their leg gets broke, because honestly if I have no mates around and no morphine that's just what I'm going to do because it's such a dread to have to actually go get morphine or wait for a medic (nicest guys ever but not always available). What's more is I'm expected to believe in a realistic aspect about my legs somehow both breaking from trauma to my upper body. What's even more audacious is an expectancy of realism about morphine magically healing my broken bone instantly. What does morphine come from a magical land of blessed fairy tales where no one ever dies? That's idiotic. First off, the most likely broken limb is the arm. Know what you could do? You could make someone break ONE arm and only be able to use their side arm. That would be a believable and real injury that might happen. Second, to actually heal a broken bone should be the actual process of healing it. I'm not asking for a system as complex as handling different kinds of fractures and complex breaks or things like that, I'm just asking for something like a timer and a splint for healing. It's not like splints are rare, but morphine definitely is. And you could even put splint spawns out of medical spawns because they're in more than just that. For broken legs you could add canes or other things for people to walk with. In short, make breaking bones a rare event and get rid of magical morphine in favor of actual healing bones.

It's so rare, it must be balanced! We should add mobile nuclear launchers and make them so rare that people are more likely to catch a shiny pokemon than find them! That will make everything balanced!

Hide yo' Vehicles; Hide yo' Loot; Or we'll find it..

The best place to look is the NW desert with a bicycle. Just keep going and going around and around, eventually you'll find someone's stuff.

It was a nice 1v2 ..then PLANES

That is almost as good as the birds flying around

[ViDEO] I just became a fucking crow

This is the best fucking thing I have ever seen. Even more funny than the first time I saw zombie suicide.

Every time I find a vehicle, I get this..

The last vehicle my group found literally spontaneously combusted with all of us and a shitload of gear in it. Literally, spontaneous. Didn't hit anything but a couple zombies around us and the engine wasn't even red. The other day a military offroad decided it didn't like being offroad and rolled on me going down a small hill. I managed to find a grenade all the way in the NE airfield but it wouldn't even budge the fucker.
