Who goes to Elektro with that kind of gear and expecting not to die (other than actual bandits)?

Some people I'm subscribed to on YouTube started playing DayZ together and I got interested in it.

I logged out of Mogilevka a few hours ago and just recently logged into a Chicago server. To my surprise I found a Saiga 12 laying on the floor of the barn. http://i.imgur.com/xotPm.jpg Afterwards, I suspected a hacker so I immediately left the server and joined a different one. Note that I did NOT pick up the Saiga. Upon logging in, I noticed everything I had was gone. http://imgur.com/5OiWG I've tried connecting to various other servers, but I'm still left with nothing. The stuff I had wasn't anything special and I can easily regain them in a short amount of time, but is there any hope of getting my equipment back?

Are you logging into the same server that you pitched the tents in?

They removed the ability to spawn with a gun and other items in a patch recently. What you're spawning with is completely normal.

There's a Windows 8 release preview for free. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/download You can burn the iso onto a disc and install it to bootcamp (or however it works). No guarantees it'll work with Steam and/or ARMA well though.

Recently, I've purchased the ARMA II CO bundle from Steam, which I use to play DayZ...prior to that, I played the free/demo version of ARMA II (which is uninstalled now). One major thing I noticed was that I get horrible FPS while playing DayZ (about 15-20 FPS). Compared to the time when I played the demo of ARMA II, I got 30-60 FPS (even if I had worse graphics). I'll admit that my computer isn't that good, but it's decent enough to run most modern games at least 30 frames per second. I've tried almost everything to lowering my quality of graphics and view distance, increasing the shadows to "high", changing the NVIDIA 3d settings, turning vsync off, turning off mouse smoothing, and etc. I just can't increase the FPS when I play DayZ. Any help?
