Ok i see The thing about DayZ is that its difficulty is not based on actually surviving. Only a minimal amount of zombies in each town, with plenty of ways to get food and heat. Project zomboid is a great representation of a game where you have to survive only against the zombies. Dayz on the other hand is focused more on the player to player interactions. On video from fresh spawns, a DayZ streamer says the biggest tip isn’t how to craft stone knifes or where to find a water pumps, it’s using your voice. Being able to bluff and weasel your way out of a fight is better than aim or assault rifles. A likeable personality can save your life more times than a tactical bacon. DayZ does a great job of subtly pushing players as the biggest danger, because if you play on a private server you can make it to Tisy faster than it took me to get shot nine times on a public server. I think that yes, DayZ could be made harder and it would make the game more challenging and more hardcore. However, if you want to make it harder you shouldn’t decrease reasources. What happens then is one team finds the only full auto rifle on the server and makes a three mile radius of coastline unplayable. When you are about to leave the coast on a server with a decent amount of loot but you are hungry, you are incentivized to risk taking buckshot to the face in order to kill or rob for a baked beans. On a server with low loot, when you are hungry you will just fish or loot the outskirts, because every other person likely has nothing you want. I think that making DayZ harder or more gritty, as you said, it boils down to pushing players together. If you’ve seen the last of us, one of the core ideas is that humanity still had a chance to survive the long run, but our natural distrust and greed split up the last reminants of the military and the government. DayZ relies on playing at the players cruelty and mistrust. If you count all the times that you’ve died the last times you’ve played the game you’ll see what I mean. for example my deaths look like this: - Fell of the ATC trying to get a good angle on the plane - Bled to death as a fresh spawn - Stabbed after loosing a race to a hunting stand - Shot at the airfield - Peppered by 22 lr for a badly damaged hunting knife - Burst to the face by a geared player -Sickled to death in a fist fight - Car crash (lag) A good game leaves you smiling about the time when you got turned into Swiss cheese because you didn’t have a round in the chamber. A bad game gets deleted after you spent 3 hours getting killed by a geared player because you couldn’t find a gun. Part of making DayZ harder is focusing on the geared players. If you decrease food and bandage spawns that doesn’t effect them because they have cars and plate carriers. The way to make the game harder for the geared players is to give more fresh spawns a bk18 and a dream. -
There could be sports stadiums across the map with a chance to become evacuation zones with dynamic police cars and military tents and medical supplies but otherwise be empty and have food.

In a survival scenario when you are treading through wet environments foot fungus is a real problem. because of this, foot fungus fits the DayZ game in addition to foot fungus, players can now wear socks which reduce the chance of getting foot fungus unless they are wet. This would also be a cool new clothing item Sock types: Players would spawn with ankle socks White socks are an upgrade to ankle socks wool socks are warmer festive socks/ fuzzy socks are very warm but in bright colors soccer socks are warm dress socks are dark colored ankle socks tactical/ hunter socks are the best socks, very durable dry and warm foot fungus: reduces your players mobility, and makes them grunt in pain when walking. can be cured via constantly staying in warm dry areas, or by an anti fungal or some medication

Fair point, but I think it would still be a good addition for early game. its main point is that you find this and ij70s in the coast towns, and would get the option to choose for different playstyles. The suggested has a lot more stopping power because .45 staggers, so it would be good for taking down a geared player or defending against a zombie rush the ij on the other hand is better for stealthy approaches and snipers because you get more close range mag dump power and the option of a suppressor -

Yeah it’s kinda close but they have different purposes the sawn off in the game is mostly for players who want .357 power, but also don’t want jams or a bulky gun The revolver I’m suggesting would be more like the Ij70 or bk12, because you pick it up on the coast to defend yourself, but you’ll drop it for something better like a mlock or a deagle. ppl I’ve played with hate the ij70 because .380 is weak, so a .45 fresh spawn gun could hopefully get rid of the excuse: ”I died to a fresh spawn with a knife because .380 is too weak” ( I saw him miss every single shot and then try to go prone to hide) -

I guess it could be a ten round mag then but also this is the CR75, which legally is distinct from the real life CZ75 so Bohemia could add a mag that doesn’t exist -

I definently support the PKS-07 scope, but I think the 12x scope on hunting rifles only balances the game. imagine if every kitted player had DMRs and KAMs with 12x magnification. This forces players to chose wether they want a weapon with a longest viable range, or a weapon that is still good at close quarters. -

Ik it’s the perfect car for stealth because it has a tiny quiet engine and can hide easily with its tiny size. Only problem is that it can’t go off road but neither can most cars in DayZ. -

DayZ should add a compact car that has folding back seats but like zero storage so you have to choose your friends or loot (always choose loot) Something like the Fiat 126 would be awesome -
Pike poles are used by fireman to make holes in walls and stuff, and would spawn in fire stations with stats that are better than the standard bone spear crash axes would rarely spawn in airfields and plane/helicopter wrecks, and would be a one handed melee weapon use for flexing rarity

It’s canon that some countries are still around and fighting the infection bc military helicopters are still smoking when they fall, meaning they crashed within a few days. Also, the game is set within a year of the infection because gasoline is still good, and the POX has mortars still have ammo to fire Ig if you want to be realistic you could say news helis are on scouting jobs for the military who are running out of supplies or you could change them to Red Cross helicopters with medical supplies
