Zombies walking through closed doors...?
FFLink replied to Igno4's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Happens, I think it's just something you gotta deal with. -
Just happened to me, too. Kicking off everyone except themselves.

Overcoming resource constraints to allow server-managed large scale zombie migration
FFLink replied to mariuslv@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I was thinking of a swarm idea, very much like the ones mentioned here. This seems a great way to implement it. I can imagine swarms just moving across set paths (a lot of set paths) to key parts of the map, where people may feel safe. This would be so interesting to see, and would really add that extra fear if you're off somewhere and start to see a huge swarm nearby. Imagine a line of hundreds walking at you from a forest (Similar to scene in Walking Dog, for example). That'd be so cool. -
The morphine/broken leg situation sucks
FFLink replied to flevius's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree to the splint idea. At the moment, the chances of "breaking your leg" are far too high. They should be lowered, not significantly, but just so that you're really unlucky to get a broken leg, but it's still possible (Stopping people from jumping off things). -
That's a fair point, but I found the sweet spot when I was using it and applied it easily enough. It could probably be adjusted to actually HAVE iron sights, or just flatten the aim a bit to make it easier for people to use. I won't complain.

Why are there no Underground areas?
FFLink replied to Chimaera's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, pretty sure it would an editor limitation. Not many games implement it well, tbh. Don't even think there's any in Skyrim, for example. Pretty sure they just use static rocks above terrain. -
Sounds like you play on empty servers.

I think the iron sights add difficulty to the weapon, and should stay as is. It's a common find early on, so the sight difficulty means it would take practice and skill to use effectively.

Just remembered this about the upcoming patch: Target date is Monday. Backup is for Saturday during offpeak time.

Same here with two friends.

There needs to be clear indications of who is good and bad.
FFLink replied to Slyguy65's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
How about an option to toggle "Friendly mode". What this means is when you place your crosshair over another "friendly" player, your gun lowers or moves around them, never actually pointing directly at them, or if you want a more practical method, let bullets pass through them (reasoning being, you aim your gun around them). Just some basic ideas, here. This way, no asshole can set to be "friendly" as a ruse, and "friendly" players will know who they can bro-up with. Thoughts?
