Looting barns and cities pointless?
execpro22 replied to execpro22's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Sorry I am no bandit and refuse to turn to a life of crime just for entertainment value. -
Your blood will start to decrease steadily. You probably have five or ten minutes to find food before its too late.

The Second DayZ Survey|Final results| Over 700 participants
execpro22 replied to eel's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Interesting survey..... Cant wait to see the results on pking. -
Completely agree. I have seen countless times where a guy suggests a new idea or dislikes a mechanic and gets badgered so much that he eventually just stops posting . These "elitists" seem to forget that we are testing an alpha and are on these forums for the specific purpose of reporting what we like and dont like and our ideas to fix things.

So, I've been hearing about this mystical Shengri-la called "the Nothwest Airfield". There are legends that say that there are mountains of NVG's stacked on each other and a mystical "barracks" that houses any type of wepaon you could ever dream of and almost infinite ammo for it. They also say coyote and alices packs just sit on the run way filled to the brim with gps's, compasses and maps. After hearing of this so called magical land I decided to make my ultimate destination there. Now I had been warned that this land was probably one of the most dangerous places in chernarus and most people died before they even stepped one foot past the treeline. I was undetterred though. So I make my way there and just scout the area with binocs for a couple of minutes and nothing. No zombies had spawned meaning there were no players in the vicinity. So I say ok, maybe I'm just lucky and I start looting the place. because of the amount of zombies I had to go prone alot so It took me at least half an hour to search the place. This being the first time I've ever been there, I dont know exactly where the best loot spawns so I assume it must be spawning in those big green hangers. I check one after another after another and they are all either emoty or just carrying basic loot like flares and stuff. I am a little confused. Wheres all this loot I had heard about? So after wasting my time with that I tried the fire station and found it too had just basic loot and ammo. Wheres all the good loot? Wheres all the PVPer's? I was in such a state of confusion that I go afk and exit out of dayz for a second to check a loot map of the area. The map shows a building that for some reason looked insignifcant when I ran by to be the place with the best loot. I go there and yes there is some military grade loot. I found ONE ma4, just a regular one and two stanag clips for it. There was also a winchester and alot of pellet rounds. Being that I was already carrying a ak 74 with five clips of ammo that I had found in Stary I decided to leave the ma4. I was so bewildered. I had been lied to. NWAF is nothing but a pipedream. I found more loot in the ten minutes at stary then I found in a half hour at NWAF. My advice, ignore NWAF and gear up at stary.

That was exactly my problem. I walked right by the barracks because I couldnt even tell that it was a high yield building. For some reason I assumed the big green hangers were where the loot was.

I already posted this suggestion before but the forum for some reason erased my account and all my posts. How bout instead of a bandit skin we have a reverse bandit skin. What I mean by this is that players who dont murder anyone and have at least one bandit kill would be given the OPTION to don a law enforcement skin. This skin would let anyone know that they kill bandits and dont kill survivors. This would decrease KOSing and anyone wearing one would actually be safer than a regular survivor because they wouldnt be kos AS MUCH. Also if you murder anyone you will permanently lose the police skin on your account. What do you think?
-
This mechanic would increase communication and human interaction as you would be more inclined to talk to someone wearing the police unform knowing that it means they havent murdered a survivor. Thats exactly what my idea would do. You could only wear it if you had at least one bandit kills and NO murders. You must of skimmed through my post or something because you dont seem to comprehend it AT ALL. As I stated in my OP, you could only wear the uniform if you had NO murders. So, there would be NO corrupt cops. Like I said in my original OP, the police skin is OPTIONAL and you can don it or take it off whenever you want.

wish there was a bandit punishment system...
execpro22 replied to peewizzle's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Although I agree that there needs to be some kind of solution to the bandit problem I DONT agree with punishing anyones playstyle. No one should be punished for how they play the game. -
goodbye side chat...i shall miss thee...
execpro22 replied to lowerplains's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Have to agree here. I'm still playing on 1.7 and since it still has side chat I am having a great time. Dont tell it isnt fun to chat with someone while walking through ten minutes of boring woods. -
This is what happens when you post your opinion here
execpro22 replied to fml's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Jeez stop badgering the guy already. This is a sandbox game right? People are allowed to play how they want right? This is an alpha right? We are testers right? We are on a forum right now right? We are allowed to state our opinions and make suggestions right? Ok well then back off adolph and let the man give his opinion. Obviously Rocket agrees that there is a deathmatch problem or he wouldn't have implemented any type of humanity system in the first place. This guy was just giving his opinion on a solution other than a 20 m heartbeat. Please try not crucify him. -
Doesnt really help when this was already brought up by another poster, but I guess bumping thread doesnt hurt. Im impressed. Usually this forum is full of trolls, but this is the first troll this thread has gotten. Maybe the community really is coming together.

Just curious as I'm still using it till I stop reading the nightmare threads about buggy zombies and infinite spawns.

Ok so I found my first downed Heli in a field guarded by ten zombies. This was after leaving NWAF. I slinked to the chopper and my reward was........... Nothing! 0 Zilch Goose egg Then I go over to the other side and see a gatling gun in mid animation firing. I remember reading somewhere that helis that are like that are bugged and have no loot. Another pipedream! Just call me the unluckiest guy in DAYZ.

Plea: Go back to Making Survival Sandbox
execpro22 replied to eggmoe's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I really do get sick of hearing these hardcore elitist screaming bloody murder everytime Rocket changes something in the game to give you more options. I mean come on! This game is in ALPHA right now. You can't possibly think what your playing at this very moment is how the finished product is going to look. I swear if you guys had it your way this game would of stayed at 1.6 and you would of kept it with bugs and all. Games evolve....... Adding features does not make this mod too "gamey" as if that were a derogatory term anyway. I hope you do realise you are a "GAMER" . Thats not something to be ashamed of or use in a derogatory way. -
Dont go..... It's a PIPE DREAM!

Read my OP a lil more closely please. I stated that it was my first time at NWAF and didnt know where the good loot spawns were or even what they looked like. The barracks just looks like a normal building until you really take a look at it. Yeah I knew I was spelling it wrong but was way too lazy to look up the real word. It was my first trip to Stary too. I honestly just ran down the hill towards those tents and went through them one by one. I was very surprised how much military loot was there and I had no problem with pvper's. I didnt even know about the military tents there. To everyone else who found something good at NWAF, I salute you, but I probably wont visit there again for awhile. Am currently visiting other places like deer stands and castles.
