Lack of scopes for long range weapons is a problem and suggestions for new scopes.

Recently the developers added some new long-range rifles to the game such as the VS-89 and the DMR but these rifles lack long range optics. They can only use scopes that can be set to 6x magnification while hunting rifles can be set to use up to 12x magnification with use of the hunting scope which are far superior when it comes to sniping. The majority of people will easily choose a hunting rifle over a VS-89 due to the poor optics. This could be changed by adding new scopes which would make snipers that use NATO optics compete with hunting rifles. It is unusual how the more common hunting rifles are superior to the rarer and harder to obtain, military snipers that use NATO optics. An example of an optic that I believe would fit into the game is the PKS-07 Scope which has a 7x magnification and is usually found on SV-98 Rifles (VS-89). It has similar design to the PSO-1 and the PSO-1-1 already found in-game. An example of a long-range optic for the DMR I found was the ART II (Adjustable Ranging Telescope) scope which can be found in Arma Reforger. It has a magnification of up to 9x and is able to attach onto M14 style weapons which I believe the DMR was based on. Another idea is the use of attachable rails for the AK platform. This would allow for larger optics to be attached to the VSD which is limited to the PSO-1 and PSO-1-1's 4x magnification. Another change I would like to see is the rarity of the night vision optics (1PN51 and NV-PVS4) decrease resulting in more people using them. They are a cool addition to the game but I never find anyone using them and by the time I do eventually find one, I already most-likely have Night Vision Goggles. Thank you for your time. -
I think the helmets currently in DayZ need a big nerf. This is because for some reason they are able to stop from 7.62x39mm rounds fired from KA-Ms and 5.56x45mm rounds fired from the Pioneer and let the wearer off with little health damage which in my opinion is very unrealistic. Even the combat helmet, which I believe was based on the SSh-68 helmet which was designed first produced in 1968, can stop these assault rifle calibres. I think all helmets available have the same statistics in terms of protection right now which I think should be changed. The old combat helmet shouldn't be as good at protecting the wearer as much as the Assault helmet or any of the more modern helmets and definitely should not be able to stop a rifle round. Also I think the visor for the Assault helmet should add some sort of protection as right now it is useless. Also, I think the shape of the helmet itself should play a role in the protection it gives. The hitbox of the helmet should not cover the entire head. Instead, it should only cover the parts of the head that the helmet covers. This would give the Assault helmet's visor a use. Thank you for reading.

I think that the static gas zone loot is very strange at the moment. I think the best weapons should be in the gas zones but there are many mediocre weapons that spawn within these gas zones such as the K-AM and VSD. I am not saying these weapons are terrible but they should replace some better weapons that are found out of the gas zones. Such as replacing the DMR with the VSD. The DMR is better than the VSD in almost every way but is much more common. Also the KA-101 could replace the K-AM. This would make sense as I believe the KA-101 has higher damage and better recoil control. At the moment it is very hard to high-loot areas without being met with a face full of 308s from a DMR. This is just my opinion. Thanks for reading.
