Should I add sniper hotspots on maps?
Zyme replied to mccullxch's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No. It's not only bandits who use spots like this. -
Not as rare as you think. For a solo player maybe. But not for groups. Loot doesn't despawn as much as it spawns. The same way money causes inflation. There will be inflation of loot.
-
Eventually loot will be so saturated that nothing will be rare. Because things such as nvgs, rangefinders or rare guns do not just disappear (most of the time unless it's a bug) they only exchange hands from player to player. Someone always comes winning out of a fire fight. When groups/clans get too much loot they store it in a tent/vehicle. Someone will eventually find it and it exchanges hands that way. The odds are higher to get rare loot from shooting someone than actually finding it. The consequence of this is obvious. More kill on sight and oversaturation of loot where a lot of people will have high end gear the longer time goes by. What are your thoughts? Should measures be taken? Such as degrading of items? Discuss.

Trying to get people to connect to your local LAN IP wont work that well. Just FYI.

Next time: When someone says there is a player on the other side, don't stand open on the field. Sure death.

Good job playing on wheelchair enabled servers with labels.

Character death should carry more weight
Zyme replied to Lukio (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This game has more of a death penalty than 99% of games out there. You don't lose anything in most MMOs for example. It is already a punishment to die fully stocked with all your gear that took weeks to aquire. Just to start over from zero having to spend hours and weeks to get to the same level. And you want to make it even worse? If there was a respawn timer above 5 minutes people would leave this game pretty quick. -
Nothing in your reply matters. Doesn't matter if it's alpha or beta. It's pretty evident that you do no programming or know how development process works. The player testing is done to find bugs and get feedback on the game, which we have plenty, and the dev team should fix these bugs. Not add new "features" that bring more bugs to the game. Development works like this: 1. Programmer creates a feature 2. Players test it 3. Players report it is broken 4. Programmer fixes the bug 5. Move on to the next feature Proper development progress does not work like this: 1. Programmer creates a feature 2. Players test it 3. Players report it is broken 4. Programmer creates a feature 5. Players report it is broken 6. Programmer creates a feature 7. Players report it is broken 8. Programmer creates a feature 9. Players report it is broken See the difference? You fix the shit you broke before you move on with new stuff. Instead of breaking it some more.

OP has a valid point but I think the same applies to every game in existence. Eventually you have done everything and get bored with it. What matters is if you had fun on the journey there. Then the game is good. There is no game that I have ever played that I didn't get bored of eventually. That is just the way it works.

Alpha is not about adding new buggy shit that breaks the game, it's about making progress. The game is going backwards as it is now and it wont even reach beta stage at this rate.

FIX THE BUGS BEFORE YOU ADD NEW STUFF TO THE GAME. Seriously. Adding invisible/unlimited bear traps? Tents still wiping on server restarts Vehicles still wiping on server restarts Vehicles resetting on server restarts Tents moving when placed downhill Camo clothing doesn't work Duplicating items Duplicating tents Disconnecting in fights Zombie super aggro when proning 50 m away The list is endless on really HUGE gamebreaking bugs. And you add more buggy items like invisible bear traps. Get your priorities right.

It's a sniper rifle not an assault rifle. Worst sniping ever. Hilarious vid.
-
Zombie aggro is broken to hell. When I lie 100% still in prone mode a zombie sees me from 50 meters away. Yeah right. "Sneak better" lol

OP should get a job and stop mooching on his parents and random internet strangers.
