Recovering humanity has been suggested before (use the search box to catch up reading) and dogs too. I'm posting here because I like the concept of dogs, especially if they can smell/react to humanity levels. The possibilities are endless ;)

While I haven't had an issue with it yet others have reported that the weather is also out of sync between clients. Devs need a MP/JIT script to sync all this stuff so what one client sees is what all of them see.

Some zombies in the woods/up north.

This has all been suggested a few times before. My suggestion for zombies in the woods is simple... They are migrating towards the coast from the rest of the continent in search of fresh food. Chernarus has some of the last survivors on it (mostly on the coast) and this would also help explain why zombies keep showing up around towns that by this time should be pretty zombie free (all the local zombies wiped out). Spawn them off the map (the dry land edges of course) and give them a little shove towards the coast. If they bump into players, villages, bases, farms, or other built up areas that's where they can stay. If the area already has a bunch of zombies then they bounce off and continue their trip. Not suggesting all zombies spawn out there, just some of them. -
I noticed that yesterday that it was raining for me - to bad it was only me and not my mate next to me - which could be a disadvantage especially with PVP'er around Really? It worked for our group but maybe that's just because we all joined about the same time too. I thought the weather was synced. If it's not I'm sure it soon will be... just takes a relatively simple script.

Having a problem building a fire: Date/Time: 4/29 5:30PM GMT -7 What happened: Killed a cow, gutted with knife, collected raw meat, tried to light fire. Message said fire was built but no sign of it anywhere, even scanning with mouse wheel for invisible fires. Where you were: north of Cherno maybe 2KM What you were doing: Trying to grill a steak. *Current installed version: 1.51, A2+OA on Steam *Server(s) you were on: US2 *Your system specs: Phenom II x4 955, 16GB, GTX465, Win7pro64 *Timeline of events before/after error: Needed to replentish lost blood, was headed back to Cherno for more beans. Found a cow and shot it. Gutted and collected meat, built fire but fire never showed up. Looked for invisible fire with mouse wheel to no success. This was my second attempt after respawning. First time I tried outside of airport at Balota but didn't have any meat to cook. No fire, assumed I needed meat, soon after died by zombie.

It's working for me now. I don't know if my "Wilderness" character finally starved/dehydrated to death or what but this last time I tried to join a server it at least put me on a beach with a pistol and some beans!

Zombies don't like ladders, stairs, or steep hills. You can usually get far enough a head of them when they are chasing you by using one of these to your advantage. Then you can pick them off at your leisure... or, in the case of hills, once you get something like 200m between you and them they will stop chasing you. Become familiar with the double-tap standing run! You can actually stay ahead of them that way. -
Any one else seeing a problem with 1.51 and building fires? GUI says it was built but it never shows up and is thus unusable. US2 server is the only one i've tested it on.

Are there any plans to make ammo more caliber specific rather than weapon specific? Example: .45 cal for revolver or 1911? 12 gauge shells for all shotguns?

The player created "trading zone" as I have described it would not be permanent, would not be confined to any pre-determined area on the map, would give all players a non-pvp zone to meet up, trade goods, get healed, etc. and now that steps are being taken to prevent disconnecting to avoid death, a safe place to disconnect from (even though it may no longer be there when you rejoin later on). Again, either three or four components required or perhaps based on the basic camping site... a lit fire and more than one tent in the same area with an extra component to define it as a free trade zone? I see this as a way to help re-balance game play.

That might fix it for you but most of the time I spawn there I have *nothing*, no weapon, no gear, no food, no water... -

Yeah, this is the "Wilderness" spawn... at least this is what it says when I spawn. Doesn't matter what server, what time, how full they are, or even which patch (I haven't been able to play since 1.4.23). An no, nothing to do with humanity, at least not your personal score. I'm one of those PVP virgins (blush)... I haven't killed a single player character since the humanity system was implemented... nor have I needed to. -
Already posted the solution. Or do you guys just like complaining?

What is the reason for making the servers so out of sync with each other? Not to mention running "beta" in Steam is an extra flaming hoop or two for some players. -
Do NOT put the downloaded files there! Unrar them FIRST and put the .pbo files in the @dayz/addon folder. I see this a lot because many people just bought CO just to play this mod and they don't know that they can't just put the .rar's in the folder and go play. Should look like this when it's done (I'm using the Steam version though):

Extra crispy please! And do you have those curly style zombies or just the regular kind? :P Very obvious if you spend as much time reading the threads here as I do (I haven't been able to join any servers in a couple of days now due to spawning in "Wilderness"). My favorite suggestions are one of my own: Have zombies spawn "inland" (off the "dry" edges of the map where players can't go anyway) and migrate towards the coast in search of "food". This would explain why zombies keep popping up around towns and villages, when all the local zombies should be wiped out by now, and sprinkles them in the wilderness too, making travel there (especially up north) much more dangerous than it is now... at least from zombies. and one by someone else (don't remember who) who suggested a few different types of zombies; slower, tougher ones, fast weak ones, and maybe even the rare "zombie bear" that would seriously take some teamwork to conquer. -
And the endless circle turns one more time...

I wish the flashlight worked like it should. Flares are the only option when you first spawn on the beach at night (barring a moon), yours or other's in the distance.
