Would it make you feel any better if I told you that I once started a thread almost exactly like this? A dev told me that the back story to this mod, which isn't public yet, does not allow for players coming back as zombies in any way, shape or form. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=187 Yeah, it's a cool idea but it's not going to happen in this mod. -
Ladders are dangerous in this game, it's an Arma thing, not a DayZ thing. Most ladders are ok, the ones going up into deer stands and guard towers can and will drop you unless you do as has been suggested. TIP: If you are careful you can climb to the top of a ladder in a deer stand and see what is in it without getting off the ladder. You can even add things to your inventory from there if you are careful. There have already been many threads on this topic. Meh, ye of small, narrow box... learn to think outside it! I don't know how many times I have to tell people this... remember, this mod is currently an "ALPHA" (that's pre-beta, pre, pre finished product) You wouldn't believe how much it's changed just in the last few weeks... and there are plenty more changes coming.

What's the specifics of your server(s) Mojo? 3rd person? crosshairs? nametags? -
I've had mixed results. I think a lot depends on whether or not the server is patched up to the fixed version. I've also read in much older threads that it was using other channels that broke it. Spawn into a server, switch to direct chat and don't use any other channel (for voice or text). See if that works.

Also worry about the negative effect on server and stabliity You are a server host... is this the reason zombie counts have been so low lately? I know we had 1200+ zed at times early on in this mod. I also know that this mod was the first to actually pull it off with any sort of stability. Inquiring minds want to know?

Exactly. It wouldn't take many either! Even a few, even the potential threat of encountering a zombie in the woods (even if you never actually see any) could be a real game changer. Currently the wilderness is considered mostly safe. The player count is never so high that if you were careful about your route you could spend days walking around in the wilderness and never encounter another player face to face. Sprinkle a few zed over the entire map, especially at night and everything changes ;) -

By his calculations a server with 1000 zombies on it means 5 per square km and if there are 4 square km per player then that means 20 zed per player. Don't worry about the map being so big it's boring. Worry about what you are going to do with 1000+ zombies on the map (again!) and some of them in the woods...
