  1. I'm not really a newbie anymore, so i'm gonna post this here. I am soon getting an Asus G73SW With a 120gb SSD as well. This is a gaming laptop made maybe 1.5 years ago, and i'm getting it for cheap, as in from a friend, very cheap, in the 400-500$ range. Here is a link to the specs of it... it has the i7 BTW http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Gaming_Powerhouse/G73SW/ Then a gameplay of arma 2 on high/max My question is, Would i be able to run it in cities on high, at about 40 FPS? I'm willing to cut corners by lowering details, removing shadows, as long as the models don't look n64'esque Thanks!

    Gaming laptop question

I want to play DayZ at a nice, playable rate, and may soon be able to purchase a fast, hardly even used, gaming laptop from a friend, for hardly even 600$ This laptop model is the Asus G73JW, found here http://www.asus.com/...#specifications It retails at about 1.1k dollars, and contains The i7 Quad core, 8GB of ram, and all the other included stuff. I believe it has 750 GB of memory as well, but that doesn't matter. My question is, will i be able to run DayZ with such a laptop? I'm worried about the low clock speeds of 1.7 ghz, but i believe i can overclock it to about 2.6 Ghz. Other than that i just want to play skyrim, and modern games on medium settings with no aa, at about 40 fps. Will this run DayZ fine at medium settings? EDIT It looks like it will run just fine, considering this video of arma 2 OA on the same model of laptop

    Gaming laptop question

I really don't think that's an accurate guess broom, seeing as JC2 on highest is like 50-80 FPS Plus, its only overclocked a little bit Crysis 2 MP demo for reference

    Gaming laptop question

Ok thanks I can currently run Cs GO at default settings on my dinky little desktop at like 40 frames, with a raedon 4550, so this should be ok, although i can hardly run dayz at 15 frames on lowest settings :\ I really just want something to play games on :P

Could it run DayZ Mostly Maxed w/o shadows?

Gator, not sure if you are trolling, or are mistaken I didnt know you could run DayZ on a mac o.o

Could it run DayZ Mostly Maxed w/o shadows?

How much would a arma/dayz SSD get me in frames? I'm all for a 60$ purchase to gain about 10 frames or so

Could it run DayZ Mostly Maxed w/o shadows?

I will be overclocking a bit if i can get another fan in, i dont want it to overheat. As your specs are nearly identical to my soon to be computer, i should have it running fine, hopefully.

Could it run DayZ Mostly Maxed w/o shadows?

And i have a friend who owns a Laptop with the same GFX card, RAM, and a similar processor, and it was very much in your range, so i'm confident in my ability to run DayZ fine, but i'm just looking for some pros, as i am not one

Could it run DayZ Mostly Maxed w/o shadows?

Considering laptops arent really meant to deal with games, i should be able to run this well with few problems

    PC Building Question on FPS

Barebones – 343$ http://www.tigerdire...8604&CatId=5294 Graphics card – Sapphire 6870 1gb DDr5 – 160$ http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814102948 Power supply – APEVIA ATX – 40$ http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817148046 700w OR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182032 600w Total – 543$ Cheap and efficient Now for some questions, i just made this list myself, for a first ever build as i have never built a computer before, i am going to replace the PCU with the 40$ unit, and install the GFX card mentioned. My question is, how well would this run dayz at 40 FPS on, medium is bare minimum at 40 FPS, hoping for high.

    Better GFX card?

Which GFX card is better? They are the same price with rebates, but i'm leaning toward the Geforce GTX 560 Fermi s it has good reviews with DayZ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130660 189$ original 160$ w/rebate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948 169$ Original 160$ w/rebate

    PC Building Question on FPS

So this 600w PSU shouldnt have a problem running the game? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182032 It looks pretty good
  24. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227392 Considering its GFX card, i would guess it would on regular Arma, but possibly not DayZ. Could anybody help me with this?
  25. TheSneakySpy

Could this computer run DayZ On medium at ~30 FPS?

Oh wait, i forgot that lowering the resolution makes it go faster, i always have it fullscreen at my monitor resolution in that case whenever i get this computer i will have a fun time in low resolution :D
