replace humanity with human interaction
Gordon Axeman replied to slivniku@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think you may be given humanity for interaction. But not vice versa (penalties for lack of interaction). -
I think they should give humanity for any kind of help, like killing zombies, bandaging people or trading successfully. And the humanity downgrade is good as it is.

replace humanity with human interaction
Gordon Axeman replied to slivniku@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
About rocket you are right. But there were much more interesting suggestions like perma-identity. I don't like all these sanity suggestions, as they prevent you from playing like you want. This has gone even further, making you find friends! I cant avoid such topics, if rocket implements these, it will half-kill the game. -

replace humanity with human interaction

Stupid bambis. Let me guess, you got shot on sight by another player, and you decided to make revenge? These topics about sanity are freaking me out. Punishing lone wolves and bandits playstyles suggestions are slowly becoming a mainstream. -
Infected children in DayZ. Poll.
Gordon Axeman replied to DZR_Mikhail's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yes. You are completely right about sandbox, but, after all, we cannot haywire and blow them up in DayZ. The only possible maximum is shooting them in the face, still I fear this is still too much. This is a great feature and only the goddamn media pose a great obstacle. Still the mild approach is my second suggestion, about the children not attacking you and therefore you unable to shoot them. But won't be this just a ton of useless coding? -
Infected children in DayZ. Poll.
Gordon Axeman replied to DZR_Mikhail's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This is the thing that should be added. I remember that moment from TWD game where two men were killing an infected child. This game is to make you feel that you survive. It is to be deep and immersive. This would be a good addition to the atmosphere. If you don't want the game to be excessively cruel, make these creatures appear somewhere nearby and follow you closely, while being stealthy and not attacking. Seeing a child at the bottom of your screen, impulsively turning and shooting the place where it have just been... and hearing a thin laughter behing you... At night you will shit your pants. This is what this game is made for... For being afraid for your life. -
Bayonets are good. Though this was suggested even more times than removing AS50.
-
I suggest adding in L115A3. It does less damage, has 5-round cartridge and is bolt-action.
-
I think it has to be removed. The difficulty of engaging isn't a con, IMO. It will even encourage noobs to avoid PvP. Also, no more shooting zeds on the run, like its done now.

More ways to gather food and water

Nice suggestions about food. Also don't forget nuts and mushrooms. -
Fell face down on the steering wheel
Gordon Axeman replied to Griffon's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Good idea. But the man above is right - any kind of seatbelt, if not torn apart with bullets, will hold the body. Also maybe a 40% chance that the dead driver will keep pushing the gas pedal, or uncontrollably turn the steering wheel maybe? -
Are they concrete??

Namalsk: survival guide. [UPD3]
Gordon Axeman replied to Gordon Axeman's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I made a survival guide. Not how to respawn. I consider this an unfair play. This guide is about how to adapt to Namalsk, and how to best dodge its hazards. I can disagree with several positions. Sticking to Vorkuta is very dangerous. Area around it is heavily trafficed. Old Hospital is rarely camped, most tend to quickly loot the place and leave, and I will advice the same. Sticking to main island is useless after you have a hunting set, the right island has many industrial spots where cola isn't hard to find (my experience). Anyway, thanks for feedback as this allows me to point out probable mistakes. -

Most dangerous coastal city - Cherno or Elektro
Gordon Axeman replied to theirongiant's topic in New Player Discussion
Cherno. Somewhy it's always full of looters and has a maze of structures, where an ambush can easily hide. In Elektro it's nearly always clear, if there is a survivor somewhere. I got so used to looting it, that I can always succesfully fight people. It's PREDICTABLE. Cherno is not. -
Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?
Gordon Axeman replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Oh, maaan... Compared to M107 still... It has recoil, but can be fired from any position precisely, accurate at great ranges and isn't that hard to find! IRL firing an anti-materiel rifle standing up will kick off your shoulder, and you will be barely able to move your arm. Firing rate is also really slower. About the DMR itself... I agree it has to be nerfed. As any sniper rifle except SVD/M24/CZ550. It's 20 round mags make it more of an assault rifle. If you played ArmA, Vintorez there is a silenced copy of DMR, having the same hilarious firerate. In DayZ, in comparison to ArmA, you will never (or very rarely) meet an encounter that is above 500m. Just the DMR's border of effect. It's really good to have a DMR now, though it doesn't kill you in one shot. -

Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?
Gordon Axeman replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I think the game should remain as it is, Windows only. Any ports will take a lot of time, needed to complete the development. Console gamers play mostly casual games, wrong target for DayZ. Mac OS is not so widely used, and there is very few gamers, so not the best target too. Just let DayZ be the same, going it's own way. We don't need to attract everybody, who will rage and whine here (COD kiddies or MMORPG snip!). This game should pick only ones who are on its way. The others must stay away. -
