What about the possibility of some "advanced" torches have a different switch to set to "strobe"..? Then, when someone tries to escape that church, they'll be freaked by the strobe in their face a 'la Kickass scene..? -

Hi Big_T, That looks absolutely fantastic atmosphere wise. I don't know but it looks simillar to the "fog/mist" addon for ARMA2 by Rockhount, it might not be though. I've used it in a few test scenarios for my WIP island objects and it looks amazing. I've always been planning to add something like this all along, so happy to see some people are loving this effect..! Imagine it in ARMA3..!? :)

To add to this too, imo, it's a great random situation generator that you could be seen easily from outside when it's dark, as ANY passing survivor/bandit gets a free pass on your position. That being said, who's to say you haven't already thought of that and have placed your team mate with NV and sniper rifle on that distant hill covering your huts only entrance and are using yourself as bait? Talk about a tense situation... ;) I think this is a great idea- it's practical, not very performance killing and it adds both immersion and gameplay possibilities... And yes, as far as smoke goes, someone mentioned earlier it just needs a particle emmiter adding to the top of every chimney- something I was planning to do anyway on my islands buildings... Even a tiny light source to be turned on once fire is lit, like a variant on the glow stick one just at the top of the chimney so the underside of the smoke particles get under lit as it'd look more authentic. -

I'd try to go for underground sewers and also underground Research facilities... All f}%*+d up and decayed of course..! :)

Fyi, I'm planning to have areas like that in my island I'm creating for ARMA3- although it's based on the STALKER setting. That is, if ARMA3 will support underground complexes. It's almost too obvious; making it so you can spawn right next to your buddies you just got killed by is absolutely ridiculous... There'd be almost no negitive about actually getting killed in the first place. What a crap suggestion... -

Hi, In regards your post, I've also noticed quite a few other people want to see a more STALKER vibe, so with that in mind check out my dev blog, where I'm doing just that: http://meshcarver.blogspot.com/ Hopefully, sometime in the future Dayz SA will allow custom maps, and then this should be ready for that happy day..! :D Either way, you'll get the best of both worlds, as this map I'm doing will be so post-apoc and filthy it should put a smile on your face, and you also get the new Cherno+ which from the screenies looks amazing imo... It is going to be Chernarus sized, and will take cues from the Stalker games and will feature 100% custom content. Hey guys, I hope you don't mind me telling you I'm currently creating a very large STALKER based map, and have got a few objects and buildings done already: http://meshcarver.blogspot.com/ Feel free to have a look, as I assume the people viewing this thread are interested in STALKER because of the Chernobyl link. Something that would help this idea, is to make the notes in a "handwritten" font, with no ascii symbols, to cut out the predictable penis' basically lol... So alls you get is the abilty to write, and not do stupid symbols. This might help cut down on spammy crap?

Great post and aye, it's good to see some positivity expressed so concisely. As far as I'm concerned, Rocket doesn't owe us anything, but he's going all out to give us everything. It doesn't get better than that..!
