Hi, I'll be back in Bangkok in 8 weeks and will start playing Sa as soon as I get back, but was wondering if there will be any Thailand based SA servers at all..? Thanks for any help, Marc

I'm planning on creating underground areas in my island NOVA ZONA, but it'll probably have to go down the route of modelling a huge depression into the terrain, then place the tunnels into that. Namalsk went this route too, but it's not a perfect solution. I really hope ARMA3 eventually incorporates this, and then maybe SA could port it to the new Chernarus... Fingers crossed..!

If you want to deter players from getting close or even approaching you, I'd advise saying something along the lines of: "Don't come near me! It gives me an erection and I can't be held responsible for what might happen! Stay back..!" ...works every time... -

From the looks of it, it's another feature they've taken over from ARMA3. Good stuff..! :D -
I really hope they keep SA locked down, at least for the first 5-10 years. Mods to SA would inevitably dilute the player base, and we'd also end up with the mess we now have. By all means, keep churning out badly thought through additions and endless bloody variations on DAYZ for the ARMA 2 mod, but leave the SA virgin as it were... I would on the other hand like to see a possibility of new maps. But, only as long as the database of objects/weapons etc remained consistent throughout all. And obviously these maps would have to be to the standard that we are promised Cherno+ is adhering to. I can't see extra maps being detrimental to the SA, but seriously, if someone could point out any reasons why they might be, then I'd sincerely like to hear those reasons.

Someone needs to point out that KOS is the easiest and most cowardly (read, pussy) way to play. I mean, there is literally 0% skill needed to do it. A blind monkey with one arm could do it. When I used to play, ALL of the best scenarios came about through interaction and tension thenceforth. Just saying... :) -

I did have an idea to implement something like this on my current WIP map, NOVA ZONA, but I got some feedback from someone in the know that you can't have moving floors, or "roadways lods" as they're called in the ARMA engine... Yeah, I hope the SA stays utterly vanilla/ non- moddable for its entire life. As soon as you open up something in this genre' that's so precisely tuned, it loses that fine tuning and becomes slightly more generic. That would be a real shame and a loss imo. Some games fit into the mould of being ideal to mod, but DAYZ, because it is so raw and unique can only become more mainstream if modded in 95% of cases... Check what we have now for example... A lot of variations that have absolutley zero appeal to a lot of folk who took a real interest in the origional game. It has just watered down the whole thing... And made it more easy too which is the worst that could happen, as its appeal was in its difficulty. Anyway... Fingers crossed for a fantastic SA boys and girls. ;) -
OP, I am planning on implementing nearly all of your ideas on my upcoming map, NOVA ZONA: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?142308-Large-S-T-A-L-K-E-R-inspired-Island-quot-NOVA-ZONA-quot Good ideas, and if you've any suggestions for my map please feel free to post in the thread mate- all input is welcomed! :) I am going to go to town so to speak on the dead bodies models, things like heads on sticks and displayed corpses etc, to really add to the survival horror/ apoc atmosphere.

Make taking a shit play like Daley Thompson's Decathlon

Hi all, With the news that our little avatars are going to need to go kackety poo-poos, I thought why not let the player decide when you want to get a visit from the Shit Fairy..? To instigate a bout of excretia, you simply press and hold SHIFT for 5 seconds, this then makes the player go into defecation mode which is where he drops trouser and squats and that's the point of no return. To crimp out a full length, you have to hammer the Z and X keys so fast that it becomes almost a blur. If you cannot hammer it fast enough, then your player is left in the middle of Farmer Krakovs field with his trousers down and a turtles head poking out from between his ruddy baps. This will make him an easy target for Snipers as he cannot stop nature once it's in its glorious full flow. But, if you manage to successfully hammer it out, then you get the full satisfaction of knowing you really had to work up a sweat in real life too and will in all likelihood be sitting at your desk breathless but relieved, which will hopefully increase immersion. As an added feature, perhaps if there's another Survivor with you, you can call him/her over to help. By standing next to the squating player, you can roll the mouse button to bring up a menu with options of holding his hand for comfort, or whispering such sentiments as "Push Yakov, push..!" or "There there, everything will be alright, I can see its head..." etc. By doing this, you will drop the amount of times per second said player has to hammer the Z and X keys. ...just got back from watching WWZ... What a let down. I wouldn't even bother watching it again if it came on TV. This from someone who liked the book but is not a fan or something, it's just a weak film. -
