Hi guys I'm having a real big problem with my battleye at the moment. Currently, whenever I try and join a DayZ server, it says BattleEye initialized etc etc, but then after I've gone through the lobby, it just won't load me into the game. A little counter appears in the bottom right hand corner that counts in seconds, but nothing further happens, sometimes that number even freezes and just does nothing. This has happened in both private and public hives. Now, I figured it MAY have been a problem with BattleEye, so I opted to play some wasteland to test out my theory, and it seems like there might be a problem with it. I joined a Wasteland server and got the same 'BattleEye initialized' when I enter the lobby, but whenever I actually get into the game, I get kicked for 'BattleEye failed to update'. Since then, I've tried reinstalling ARMA 2:OA (which I know does nothing but I figured I'd try it anyway), I've tried running the BE installer within the Steamapps files, I've tried manually reinstalling the BE dll's, I've tried Steam's verification of integrity of game cache, I've tried sitting in Wasteland lobby to no avail, and nothing works. Not only is my BE totally non-functional, but I can't join DayZ servers to test it out or let it update by itself. What do I do? I just want to play some DayZ :< EDIT: Oh I forgot to add, I've also tried turning off my Antivirus software to help the battleye update, nothing.

So if your ID was say, 345281AX, nothing can be done? Our version is different? Where would we find this patch? -

Getting the same message too... Really irked. This was the first time I've made it to the barracks at the NW Airfield, and I can't play :( -

why do you assume it wouldnt be? I wouldnt like to meet the people who think human beings would devolve into mindless killbots if the zombie apocalypse ever occurred. you strike me as a potential psychopath just itching for a release. human beings are so powerful because we co-operate under stressful situations. this is not an opinion' date=' its an observed fact. just open a history book. i have no doubt that some people would kill another if it meant their survival, but no where near the levels which are happening in the game right now. its a blood bath. do you honestly believe a true to life zomapoc would be like this? everyone shooting everyone on sight? or are we only using the realism argument when it suits us? [/quote'] Contrary to my previous post to you, I now completely disagree! Oh the irony. Have you ever read The Road by Cormac McCarthy? Given your rather peachy view of humanity I suggest you do. Without spoiling too much, it depicts an apocalyptic world (zed-less, but still). And the acts of atrocity that some of the humans commit are absolutely mind blowing, and I don't see them being too far fetched either. People keep making this argument that humans work well as a team and that humans perform well together under stressful situations. I feel thats a totally altruistic approach, a philosophical ideology I do not subscribe to. I think humans are intrinsically egoistic, both from personal experience, but also from reading so much Hobbes. You can say that we co-operate under stressful situations, well there's a good reason for it. Co-operation breeds strength in numbers, and therefore protection. Human beings are willing to sacrifice a small amount of freedom to do whatever they want in order for protection. Just look at society. We submit to rules and regulations in order to receive protection from the government. Look back a thousand years to cavemen, and you had tribes. When there was no incentive to work together, no dangerous circumstance that had arisen, they fought each other for land, resources, meat and women basically. We're animals. We coalesce into a society because its in our own best interests to do so. EDIT: Can't remember who said it, but whoever it was said that we are simply bound by mutual benefit. It just so happens that being in a society not only benefits ourselves, but others as well, so its in both our best interests to do so. When there is no mutual benefit, well then. Look at Day Z. -

Teamwork is pretty few and far in between, but there are definitely friendly people out there. Bad time: Was in Elektro fire station just eating some pasta and reloading all my guns when 3 guys opened up on me with AK's. They managed to wound me, and I crawled into a corner, but then the zombies started coming to investigate. I ran out of ammo, and as soon as they noticed this they cleaned up the zombies, and me. Good time: This happened just today actually. Was searching a farm in Prigorodky when I hear crawling. A guy called Ishalus comes around the corner and greets me, saying he has no weapon and that he needs to look for one (due to the new patch my Direct Comm. wasn't working so I couldn't get through to him). We ended up pairing up and walking to Vysota, where we bumped into another silent player (I assumed his DC was broken too), and we geared him up with a crossbow and some food and we all went off together! We made it to Nadezhdino, but we alerted some zeds while in the barn, and they started to swarm. The initial guy I paired up with glitched and broke his leg, so the other guy and me tried to defend him. Eventually we both went dry, and I motioned with my head for him to run, and Ishalus confirmed saying he should run since he still had food and drink. I stayed to fight and defend Ishalus with my hatchet, but we both succumbed eventually. tl;dr There are good people out there, you just have to be patient.
