Very disappointed to see the devs just take the Livonia DLC players money and run with it. Now the DLC is free? What the hell? My friends and I liked the exclusivity of the DLC because it deterred a lot of hackers from raiding us. You pretty much just gave the hackers a free DLC. Thanks a lot lol.

We really need Linux support for DayZ non experimental. The systems are there! It's possible! I don't wanna pay x amount of dollars more monthly for a Windows key just to run DayZServer.exe on my VPS, lol. How many years until Linux support?

Is this even possible in a Linux environment? I know only the Experimental branch is supported but I want to run the non experimental DayZServer.exe. I got the file to run with Wine and Steam by adding it as a non-Steam game and editing some startup parameters but what's the problem I'm having? I also tried adding start.bat but I figured that wouldn't work, tried it anyway. Anyone else able to pull this off?

Basically cheaters are ruining this game and it will die without it being handled. That's why I'm going to make my server whitelisted only, I know that won't do much good but at least we can monitor each player more closely, where they came from, etc.

A new unknown faction known as "The Academy" has established themselves in Livonia with a brutal force. Armed with new technology, they are rumored to conduct unethical experiments on captured test subjects. It's also rumored that they have been privately contracted to conduct these experiments for data harvesting and DNA genetic testing. Biochemists and scientists have defined them as biological terrorists but the mainstream media (or what's left of it) insists The Academy's intentions are positive in a propagandized campaign. The Scientific Intelligence Program of Livonia (SIP) were established sometime after The Academy was granted their latest contract. SIP aims to fight The Academy with their own anti-Academy propaganda and have even gone so far as to launch biochemical bombing attacks as well as unleashing their own purchased PMCs. The Academy remains a deadly organization, constantly running propaganda broadcasts on the radio station 87.8 Mhz. Many survivors are confused as to which side they should be on and it has become a common debate amongst them. Origin of the project, 2020 Data Leak Inspired by the unique prowess and virtues of history, The Academy and Scientific Intelligence Program have both proven roots, possibly even generational secrets, related to their practices. It has also been rumored that strange chants and witchcraft have been involved in their studies and whether or not there is a supernatural connection to the dead and living. In a 2020 data leak, The Academy had briefly considered if "extracting certain chemicals from test subjects' blood gives soldiers a higher quality of life", a postulate that they proclaim is true. The test subjects were strapped to chairs and agitated, tortured, scared by subliminal messages displayed before them on an overhead projector, or experiencing a wide variety of emotions. Conspiracy theories often surface on the internet pertaining to The Academy, United States Army and United Nations, claiming the three work together as a parent organization, financed by wealthy members of the Trilateral Commission. According to other conspiracy theories, The Academy is an "active tester and user of alien technology and weaponry" and that they employ the research of "counterfeit doctors of a third kind; a unique breed of stupid that will never contribute to true science development". Media critique of these claims has followed accordingly along with legal battles. These claims and conspiracies are unverified, circulating mostly on social media. Leadership Although these organizations' intentions are mostly secret and unknown to the general public, it's apparent that The Academy and SIP have a unique hierarchy and chain of command. The Academy operates exclusively out of Livonia and has been financed privately, while SIP has multinational ties to conglomerates and even Wall Street hedge funds who have funded their organization. Discovering their leadership would be a key component in learning more about the operations and motives. Few have lived to tell the tale and those who know more have reported memory loss and time gaps. Other factions Livonian Defense Force (LDF) - A few remnant LDF groups still try to fight the good fight and protect their territory from intruders. They've also been known to provide triage to dying survivors. United Nations - Even fewer left after The Academy, SIP were expanded. General population - Survivors, looters, raiders. Damage assessment reporters, auditors and journalists that lurk in the shadows. Your role as a survivor Avoid contact with The Academy and SIP. Or investigate them, if you dare. Your goal is to stay alive, band together and fight against the tyranny of these evil organizations. Building a base wouldn't be a bad idea, but banding with friendly survivors may also be an important strategy. The well known bunker of Livonia is still a battlegrounds, providing incredible loot and tools to make survival easier. There are other friendly organizations that provide training to those in need and even food. But what's the secret here? Are these organizations hiding a valuable secret? Will you agree or disagree with the propaganda? Which color will you wear? Have you been brainwashed too?
