Gah! must have been blinder than usual, sorted it out, just delete this topic or something I'm an idiot.

aye, my bad, I clicked an advert, found the right button, I is a noob. however its not letting me download dayz commander without giving them my credit card details for a donation, I dont trust them enough to give them that informaion. ah woe is me..

When trying to download and install DayZ Commander the installation wizard thingy said that I had to make the babylon toolbar my default browser which I dont want, but it wouldnt let me install Commander without accepting it. Is there a way to instal DayZ Commander without having to accept this babylon thing? I had DayZ Commander on my old computer and it was fine, I dont remember it being ransomed by something else, does this mean I cant play DayZ anymore? (I'm not a tech-head so I'm not even going to try to manually mod my ARMA2)

I'm not proposing the elimination of banditry, but if your humanity gets too low you shouldnt be human anymore (ie, you're a zombie) bandit groups would still be able to bandit, they would just have to look after each other in order to mitigate their decline into zombies
-
never played left for dead, not into zombie arcades try to think of gun weilding zeds as people who arent quite all the way zedded but so close that at some level they realise you are a threat, and can still just-about use a gun (badly)
-
My ideas for making cooperation more likely: 1- make the zeds more of a threat, at the moment they only spawn around loot, make it so they can spawn anywhere, make certain zombies harder depending on their skin, possibly give certain zeds the ability to call other zeds (imagine a priest zed who just stands there screaming at you and all the other zeds in earshot rush you), make it so certain zeds can track you for an unlimited distance once they have your scent (imagine a hunter zed that tracks you half way across the map), make it so that players who are killed by zeds come back as 'survivor zeds' who are harder and can use weapons (imagine your buddy is overwhelmed across town, by the time you reach him he has already turned and is peppering you wildly with his uzi) . 2- make the inventory smaller, the amount of loot a player can carry bythemselves is prodigious, make it so you can only carry say 3 tools, maybe make more loot items double or triple slots, the amount of fluids a character can carry is just silly, no-one can carry that much water. make it so you start with the smallest carry pack, I think there is a pack ingame that is smaller than your starting pack making it a pointless loot item. 3- reward humanity, I think at the moment people with high humanity can run faster, which is cool, but maybe add more incentives, like a reduced chance of suffering negative status effects, blood regeneration, quieter/less visible, remove their dot from other players screens, likewise change the dot of bandits to a red dot that can be seen from further away, or possibly increase the rate at which they need to eat and drink (I see this as a slow decline towards zombism as they become less humane) 4- make military zeds too tough to take out alone, this will reduce the number of military weapons in the game, there is something pure about restricting yourself to civilian weapons, I dont trust anyone with a military weapon and will shoot on sight. 5- finally, and most importantly, make it possible to holster/shoulder your weapon, even in an apocalypse you wouldnt have your weapon in your hand all the time, me and a bunch of mates had a picnic around a campfire, because we were all armed and holding big guns in our hands at all times it looked like a scene from reservoir dogs. I'd be less inclined to shoot a stranger if they werent pointing their gun at me whenever they looked at me. Zed abilities: Hunter: can track your scent and spawns in the woods Farmer: just a bit tougher and can spawn in fields Priest: can call all nearby (2km) zeds and direct them to your location, only spawns around churchess Cop: more resistance to bullets because of their bullet proof vests Tourist: faster and more preceptive (they were sight-seeing) Doctor: more likely to inflict an infection (they were exposed to illnesses during the initial plague) and mostly spawn near hospitals and medical tents as well as mass graves. Technician: cause more damage to vehicles and spawn in industrial areas and gas stations Soldier: make them harder in everyway and almost bullet proof, only spawn around military loot Pilot: same as a soldier/technician hybrid, both sets of abilities Officer: same as a soldier but can also use a sidearm

lol @ the amount of attention this thread is getting.....on the otherhand if I could shack up with some hot survivor I'd totally share my beans with her (even if it is infact some fat sweaty dude with nothing better in his life than to play zombie survival games....oh wait, thats describes me! weeps)

Some servers have become unplayable from all the barbwire fencing off loot spawns, I suggest adding specialist gloves that are needed to deploy barbwire, otherwise whoever uses it gets a bleed. I also noticed that barbwire does not hinder zombies? Some might argue that because zombies feel no pain and are super strong they could just walk through it.....that is unmitigated poo, I dont care how strong you are or how much pain you can take, once you get tangled in barbwire there is no escape, so imo barbwire should hinder zeds as well as survivors. To be honest I'd be pleased to see barbwire removed altogether. Rant over. :D

Aye, it doesnt have to be in the debug window, and I suppose I could just use a stopwatch irl, I will in my next incarnation. Maybe on the "You are Dead" screen it tells you how long you survived, a minor thing really, just for ze lolz.

I have encountered the same problem many times, I hear a tool box can dismantle them but they are rarer than barbwire and I've only just found one ~(after 3 days of searching) I am yet to test it.

One blood bag (in reality) doesnt refill all your blood, though it is possible to give yourself a blood 'infusion', a realistic 'trasfusion' would require doctors and shit. I like the way it is now, in game, to provide cooperative aid. Ingame, food and steaks are kinda like health potions ;-)

It would be nice if there was a timer alongside how many kills you have, I realise when you log in it tells you which "day" it is, but that isnt actual subjective time is it? My current incarnation is on day 3 but I'm pretty sure he's only logged maybe 20 hours in total. Just a thought. :)

Thanks for the quick replies, I shot the window a couple of times with a colt 1911, I'll empty the clip next time. The deafness must have been a glitch, as I did reblood myself.

I went to the hospital in Berenzino saw some loot through the window but couldnt get in. There seemed to be automatic doors but I couldnt open them, I searched around the whole building but couldnt find a way in even from the roof. I got rushed by the horde, killed a bunch, but the zeds got a lucky hit and broke a bone, fortunatly I had morphine and stuff but after the fight I seemed to go deaf somewhat, could this be a side-effect of morphine or if you shoot an AK too much can you go deaf, it wasnt my computer cos my music was unaffected, just in game sound was less, any ideas?
