I think one thing that really puts a damper on the amazingness that is Dayz, is surviving for 1 week, gathering loot, finding your first tent, your first NVG's, night raiding towns super careful, only to go into a building, clear it, then starting picking up loot, only to be shot in the back by some guy that just logged in. And just like that, a weeks worth of cautious play, down the drain because the room you cleared can NEVER actually be safe. I'm sure there's a dozen ways to improve protection against spawn ins, and I'd love to hear them all, but all I could think of was something like say, if you try to log in on me, you get a message saying you can't log in there, you're too close to another player (and likewise give the same warning to others, that someone tried to log in on them. Then maybe give the player the option to log in 200m back in the woods or something. So both players know that they're about to be in some action, and nobody gets spawned on. I'm sure there's many better options, but I know I'm not alone in feeling like this is the one major drawback to a fantastic game. A couple days ago my buddies and I raided the NW airfield, he was in the firehouse, noticed zombies despawn, called out "oh no, someones gonna spawn", and was promptly shot in the back, killed, and looted, then the guy logged out. Similar events claimed another buddy yesterday, and now me today. To play all that time, being so careful, so quiet, so sneaky, only to die to someone spawning 2 feet behind you is pretty depressing. So, I know this mod is in early alpha, I know it has a lot of changes coming, and maybe this is something that takes 6 months or longer, who cares, these things take time. I just really really hope that ANY kind of protection from this sort of thing will be implemented.
