I wont agree with the statement that CPU is the key. When I ordered my new PC I've got Phenom X3 @ 2.4GHz and 9800GTX. First I got my new GTX670OC and installed it in my old PC. It boosted my FPS to 60+. I've played with that setup for about a week before all other parts got delivered. Then when I assembled all the new parts I thought to myself why did I spend $1300 on new PC when I could run just fine with only new GPU.

The topic's title should be changed to DayZ players should NOT have the courtesy to play Arma2 EVEN once.

Fail. Arma sucks huge balls if not played tactically on big maps with objectives. If you want fast paced action then join DM server.

DayZ kids should stay away from our game. You should join some Arma2 servers and see for yourself how they are infested with pitchy voice 12 years old screaming kids over the voice chat. They have 0 skills with choppers yet they jump into one and crash it right at the base. They take a tank and drive it into the enemy city at full speed just to be blown up by enemy RPG soldiers. Even if some of them have learnt to somehow manuever the chopper, they still land it too close to the enemy so you get shot down anyway. Many of them think that it is still dayz so they run a deathmatch at the base killing players of their own team or they take as50 tws (LOL, favourite DayZ kid weapon) and camp the spawn point from the nearest hill. I'm really looking forward for the games to be split(arma and standalone) so arma players would enjoy the game without it being ruined by dayz kids.

First of all, tell us how do you run the game. Steam, launcher or shortcut?

All I can think of is that you accidently set your veiw distance to 10,000. So ArmA plays laggy because of heavy load. DayZ automatically adjusts your view distance to 1600 meters so you get decent FPS. Check your settings and post a picture of your monitor here so professionals can investigate the issue.
