  1. I am espanto! Fantasma de terror!
  2. m14aim. and m9silenced as the sidearm. might change it for the pdw cos i read it's compatible with plenty of ammo.
  3. I aborted once at the beginning cos in saved in a house and when i logged in the zombies were at me already from outside of the house. I always save in the woods now and never aborted on a firefight. The rush you get when you survive a near death situation is the best and most rewarding feeling in this game. if you die, well, you just start over again.
  4. i'd say DMR in my case, easy to find ammo (if you don't dupe that is), compatible with NVG and 8k damage. as50 and m107 are superior distance wise but i also use the m14aim for combat situations, and they share ammo so more space in my inventory for other things. A good point with the svd is that if you have a ghillie you'll be more difficult to spot (without thermal) with that gun than with the rest.
  5. wolf packs, bears and cats along with game in the wild. red dead redemption had it, why not dayz?
  6. The map certainly has more variety (it is a mix between arab dwellings and tropical banana republic) and many of the buildings are enterable. However i didn't feel the impression of being "in the wild" anywhere, it is like densely urbanized (if i make any sense) and then it changes from jungle to desert quite abruptly in some areas. But for urban warfare is very good indeed, and has a race track. Chernarus can't beat that :D Also the signs around with the revolución slogans, it gives it a weird but funny feeling.
  7. trees are the biggest threat. Those mofos are vicious.
  8. I think the OP is making a lot of assumptions if he thinks that all the hackers are the same. if he meets 10 and all of them are the same, then i'd understand where he's coming from. but just the one?
  9. close to 5000. only n2 murders in my whole run since the beginning.
  10. Closed the window as i saw them walking on an open road.
  11. I got killed yesterday and i respawned in the wildeness (that is the end of the map west of kamenka). I went into the town and got a makarov, in one of those orange houses with tho exits. Feeling myself more prepared i decided to venture into one of those dark wood dwellings with one little entrances, thinking i'd get some bandages/drink. And there i found it, liitle flat cardboard package, with a ghillie suit in. First time myself i find one so quickly.
  12. Those alt-f4 pussies are all missing the best part of the game. The tense moments in which you don't know if you're gonna survive this one. If you do, it's probably the most rewarding situation in the whole game. That and being lucky enough to respawn close to where you died, and being able to exact revenge.
  13. i think hackers should focus on creativity more than on killing players. They could create cool situations in the game adding a challenge, a laugh, stuff like that. I really like the one who plays as jason from friday the 13th, i think it's a brilliant idea. like the thunderdome, they could teleport players to one of the big cities, throw crates of ammo and guns and spawn a decent horde of zeds. That would be a good challenge. Or a friendly "batman" that cripples and disarms bandits, or an evil vehicle that haunts at night, stuff like that.
  14. I say AMIGO! and everybody seems to understand. I think they associate it with tequila or something.
  15. yeah, as pple say here zeds/loot only spawn if you're on foot and as you're approaching, couldn't tell you the distance exactly. Other thing i've found is if you go to a place that hasn't spawned loot in all loot spots, if you go and return you'll find loot on the empty spots. Also heard that you have to clear a building with loot if you want new loot to appear.
  16. Knowing gun sound levels and when to shoot them makes the zeds a little more than an annoyance. After playing for a while you know where to go to get your fist gun without much of a fuss, and then continue from there. To me the slower/non erratic zombies of this patch have made it way easier in the sense of getting rid of them. I look back at 1.7.1.4 and can't help but feel a bit nostalgic. Respawning back then was a much bigger challenge. Now you raid a farm/a town with some decent buildings in no time, with the line of sight thing. Just get in and out, turn around 2 corners and behind a fence and you find yourself ignored again.
  17. Actually farms are the best place to hit as a new spawn (that or cities) in the sense that buildings there tend to have 2 exits. So you can easily lose the zombies going after you (they just walk indoors). And you have a fair chance of getting a hatchet and a gun (enfields, winchesters, 2 barreled shotguns and crossbows. Even with a bit of luck a cz550) and other goodies.
  18. i'm in the middle of fixing a van, gonna fill it up with drinks and goodies and i'm gonna go to cherno/elektro pumping ice cream van music through the proximity chat. And i'm a good ol' chap, so same price for bandits/survivors/zeds altogether!
  19. In dayz commander, in the settings category you can add on a line "additional startup parameters". Try to add this line on it, it worked for me. -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion, -nosplash, -world=empty, -mod=@dayz
  20. I think you might be missing the command line parameters on the dayz shortcut.
