    Laptop players? Your specs

    Playing it on an M17x R3 (which i have manually modified/upgraded): i7 2860QM Quad 16gb DDR3 1600Mhz 7970M 2GB - overclocked to 1000/1400 Installed on 500gb SSD at 550mb/s read 500mb/s write 60 FPS (with vsync on) in every single situation. It never drops. To the clueless people recommending not to play on a laptop... I suppose you haven't tried a gaming laptop?

    1.7.2.5 doesn't wipe tents and vehicles. It is, however, buggy in that tents and vehicles will no longer save properly. Your remaining tents will be there, as will the vehicles. However, don't be surprised if your bike turns into a truck.
  3. Hi all, UK 230 is a relatively new server without a truly established clan of hoarders, yet. Meaning that most vehicles are dotted around the map, saved by single players or small groups. Just this morning in fact, I found a quad parked in a shed near Komarovo as a newly spawned character. Whilst I cannot guarantee a hack-free experience, I can guarantee you that there will be NO admin abuse on our server. We have a grand total of four admins (my brother and two friends), which cover most of the day/evening, whom have been given a specific set of rules: - No hoarding vehicles - No duping - Absolutely no admin abuse, whatsoever. Yesterday, we made the collective decision to roll back to 1.7.2.4 as tents/vehicles weren't saving after the regular server restarts ( I understand everyone's having this problem since 1.7.2.5). This caused many of our regular players to vanish. As such, we've rolled back until the next patch, in which I assume we'll have a fix for that problem! So, without rambling on for too long, the details are as follows: Server : DayZ - UK230 (1.7.2.4 - ROLLBACK/95883) (Veteran|3D:ON|CH:ON) dayzmod.com - Forest Running Simulator 2012 IP : 94.242.227.90:2312 Email : forestrunningsim@gmail.com Server restarts twice daily, at 8am and 8pm GMT Come and join us! :)
  4. No comments about Vert, but... Had a great experience with Vilayer. The server was set up the day I paid for it, and connected to the hive. Since then, other than the control panel being down for a good 8 hours one day, the service has been rock solid.
  5. SIX of my clannies have quit and uninstalled since 1.7.2.5 and the hive issues. I think the lack of persistence has bored them; I know it has me. Please get this sorted before you lose your player base.

    The problem isn't with our server, it's all 1.7.2.5 servers I believe. Tents and vehicles (specifically them saving to the hive after a restart) are bugged in this version, so we rolled back to prevent losing the consistency that these two elements bring.

    That's a pretty advanced warning ;) Seriously though, if you're talking about non-scheduled restarts, then yes. I always give at least 2 minutes notice prior to a restart via Global chat.
  11. Bugs I have found in 1.7.2.5 : - Tents do not save after server restart. They are put back to how they were in 1.7.2.4 - Vehicles (locations and inventories) do not save after a server restart. Also put back to how they were in 1.7.2.4 - Graphical glitches even worse on military zombie corpses. Can fix by changing random graphics settings but they generally go again later on. - Strangely spawning on coast 1 in 10 times - Putting on a Ghillie Suit or Camo Suit with large Coyote pack swaps it out for an empty noob coyote pack All in all, the hotfix build is hotf*cked.
  12. 1.7.2.5 has screwed up tent/vehicle saving AFTER a server restart. These positions save just fine whilst the server is running, but restart it, and our server goes back to how it was in 1.7.2.4. We're not the only ones... I have seen over 40 complaints of this now, through various hosts. This is a huge problem, of course.
  13. Exactly the same thing happening on BOTH of my servers, with different hosts. In summary, this is the issue: After a server restart, tents and vehicles go back to their last known status when at 1.7.2.4 If the server is not restarted, then the server is saving just fine.
  14. Okay, so I got a server today. All the vehicles had gone except for one, which my brother took. He came on voice comms asking for admin, tried to login simultaneously, and it didn't work. Assuming that we could only have one on at a time, I clicked his name, and clicked 'Reassign' in server control. The server shut down momentarily, and his vehicle was gone. Please, oh wise ones... what have I done?

    Worst Game Experience ever

    As I tell everyone I introduce to this game, the learning curve is steep... really steep. Expect to rack up 4 hours of play time before you start to actually learn ALL of the basics. Multiply that by three before you start to become familiar enough with the map and your surroundings that you're able to meet up with your friends. Seriously, this mod is not 'shit'. In fact, the more I/many others play it (easily 80 hours plus so far), the more I/we love it, and I am still finding building types I can enter and things I simply didn't know. Your post is more of an attack on your own patience and/or stupidity, and I'm afraid that's how it will be viewed by the majority of people reading it.

    Pending Hotfix: Build 1.7.1.5

    What about their hearing? I have a feeling that I am being heard rather than seen :\ Impossible to tell though. Yeah, just tested it on a dark server where I could barely be seen. We simply make too much noise now when crouching.
  17. Another point... This patch rewards stupid behaviour. This game shouldn't do that.
  18. Stupid patch. The Zombies are basically superheroes now, in that they run faster than the Flash, have X-Ray vision and can apparently hear me from a mile away. Without stealth, this game becomes stupid. I watched a guy on a live stream today and the only way he could get any items was to run like a maniac through Cherno, picking up whatever he could in buildings where zombies slow down, then running out and repeating. He eventually died by going into a house which had only one exit, and the exit was covered in zombies which he couldn't hit due to having no weapon. What I've noticed also, is that the zombies warp around now a lot more than they did before. Not sure what this is about. Whilst I appreciate that this is a hardcore, hard-mode game, and I prefer starting with next to no items, the Zombie AI is ridiculous right now, and an absolute fun-killer for me. Here's to 1.7.1.5 coming today.
