Old CPU with integrated graphics (aka no external GPU) will not run the mod very well if at all. You can try "Arma II free" and see how that performs, if you cannot get that working then you have no hope because DayZ is more resource intensive. A new PC is recommended.

The graphics card is more than capable, getting more ram is a start but ultimately you need a new motherboard and CPU.

Nice story, but we really do not need a new thread when someone suffers at the hands of a cheater. I feel for you but we are here to test a mod, you can enjoy "playing" the game when the final release is out, probably as a standalone. The silver lining is that BIS and Rocket know about this problem and they know that they will be crucified if Arma III and DayZ final release suffer from cheating on this scale.

Some points: Buy a branded PSU, e.g. Corsair, Thermaltake, Cooler Master (a "pro" version instead of the ones included in the case). Otherwise you risk it destroying every PC component with a power surge. The size of the PSU is only related to the power needed to run the PC, a 600W is more than sufficient and will be future proof, allowing you to add a second graphics card or upgrade the existing one later. AMD CPUs are not great for games (typically), the game developers tend to develop for intel chips so some performance is lost. Micro ATX motherboard is not ideal because you only get 2 ram slots (need to buy new ram to upgrade later and throw the existing parts) and you only have 1 PCI slot and 1 PCI-E slot. Therefore no dual graphics card setup later and you only have space for one other item (e.g. wireless card). Ultimately that costs $343 for a reason, it will have a lot of limitations for a "gaming PC" if that is what you want. It would be a good PC which you can play games on, but you will outgrow this quite quickly. EDIT: Regarding the FPS in DayZ, don't bother thinking about it because even top PCs which cost 4x as much suffer from FPS drops in cities and when the server has not been restarted for a while. The server can severely impact your FPS and the game is not optimised.

This can be disabled in the server settings, so most servers should be safe now. You can also cook on the barrel fires, so you just need a hunting knife at first (I have not confirmed this but quite a few people have said that you can).

It is a hog. The graphical bug is known and will be fixed in the next patch. Regarding the sound issues, if you have installed through Steam you should verify the game files (right click on the game icon in the Steam program, then properties and then verify game files).

Download "Arma II free" and try that, if you cannot manage this you have no hope in playing DayZ because it takes even more resources.

People can run scripts and cheat on any server, there is not much that you can do. No server is immune to the cheaters.

55 is happening to people in vehicles, it could be related to changes made to prevent desync whilst in vehicles. BIS should be aware of it, but you can always check the bug reports forum and see if there is an existing post. The desync fix will most likely also be working whilst not in a vehicle, so it is reasonable to assume that you can get it whilst out of a vehicle.

This is completely wrong. Map markers are tied to the communication channel which you have selected, so as long as you use "direct" or "vehicle" and not "group" other people will not see them. There is also a difference between "shift + 1 click" and "shift + double click", the double click is the one which other people can see. Single click only you can see.

Wells can be used as a water source, the type where the top is boarded over, even when there is not a pump. If in doubt just try to fill the canteen and see if it lets you.

Others have mentioned hearing it, but I personally have not noticed it. The humanity system remains through death and recovers over time, so it should not reset on death (unless rocket has changed this).

Looks good, but a few comments: - What brand is the PSU and it is probably too small, it might run the system specs now but it definitely won't be able to handle a bigger graphics card when you add a second or upgrade it later on. Get a 600W or similar one for slightly more and it is more future proof. Power-wise it will not cost more to run, it only draws the power that it needs. - 4x Stick of RAM is not something that I would choose to do, but it is personal preference. I would get 2x 8Gb, it would not cost a lot extra. - I don't like internal card readers, they are cheap and nasty, but you get what you pay for. My current PC has one installed because it came free, but as soon as I change the motherboard I will replace it with a USB 3.0 panel instead. - Use at least 2 case fans, one at the front to suck air in and one at the back to push air out. You can have it the other way but typically there is more dust behind the desktop than in front and you want to avoid sucking extra dust into the case. You get what you pay for with case fans, it is worth paying a bit more and getting quieter fans which won't burn out, because even better quality ones are cheap.

Blurry is most likely because of the settings, you should set the 3d display the same as the game resolution to stop this. There are a few threads which tell you what graphical settings to use for optimal performance. Using "low" is not necessarily the best option for you because apparently it increases the CPU load.

Your character is tied to your serial key of Operation Arrowhead, which is saved in the registry of the PC. For steam it is simple because when you sign in it automatically sets the correct serial key in the registry, so you can access you character. This is one way of having more than one copy of Operation Arrowhead which allows more than one character. You cannot use one serial key to play on two computers at the same time, your friend will need to buy the game them self, if they want to play with you.

Don't do this, you risk your original bag falling through the floor and not being able to get to it. In buildings and on slopes dropped items can fall the floor. 1. Remove all loot from the pile with the bag, including tin cans etc. (they stop you accessing the "take" and "open" bag options) 2. Use the scroll wheel to choose "open" bag 3. Open your existing backpack and move everything into the new bag 4. Close the inventory window 5. Use the scroll wheel to choose "take" bag 6. Now you have a new bag with all of your items already in it. Regarding the items: 10 slots for primary and 5 slots for secondary AND as many slots required for the ammunition used by that weapon, it will move the ammunition a split second afterwards into the bag just like when dropping a weapon on the floor. If you don't have enough space you will lose the weapon and if the weapon is successfully moved you could lose some or all of the ammunition. Please try to avoid giving advice to new people unless you know what you are doing is the safest/most correct way, otherwise we will just keep having people experience problems and it will be an endless cycle.

This is correct. Make sure that you have enough space for the weapon (10 for primary and 5 for secondary) and also the number of clips/magazines of ammo.

No, DayZ is a standalone mod and no other mods are allowed to be run alongside it. As far as I am aware, you would need the server to support your loaded mods for it to work as well. Launch the game through the normal shortcut, then you should be able to play the normal game.

Ping of 15 from a speed test? That means the speed test server is close or has a good connection, not that all DayZ servers are going to be close or have a good connection for you. Try resetting your modem/router.

I have yet to die from dehydration or starvation, if you keep moving around and looting I cannot see how you would manage it.

On topic: The first and most important thing to do is locate the position of the other player, if you don't know where they are you will not be able to get behind cover. It comes down to luck really, if the person hunting you is skilled or you are out in the open you do not have much chance of surviving.

It is unlikely to play very well, you might manage to play on low settings but it would not be a great experience. Laptops are not designed to play games, especially ones without a dedicated graphics card (which I suspect is the case), you should save up for a desktop PC if you want to play PC games. Playing PC games is an expensive hobby, much more so than consoles, be sure that you can afford the initial investment and to upgrade parts every 12-24 months. If you buy a "low end" PC now you will have to change parts much sooner than if you bought a "top end PC" now, to meet the minimum requirements for games on the PC.

There is no excuse to cheat in a game. I have not once been killed on a beach after recently spawning, not to say that it does not happen, but there are numerous spawn locations so it is quite unlikely for each spawn to have people griefing.
